@shei514How would you rate the pain on a scale of 1-10? I had my consultation with Amy and Dr. Rullan in January and am trying to get it asap before winter starts. I am however ethnic and mainly doing it for pigmentation issues in addition to acne scars. Keep up the documentation!
Here is day 11. First two photos show skin being a little more red as I just had a shower. Redness is getting less and less each day, but obviously still very red and most likely will be for a while. I dont mind this too much.

The texture looks so good... still early. But it feels like you never had any scars. Do you remember if laser gave you the same output on day 11?
18 hours ago, can i get a new life please said:So looks like downtime isnt that bad? I think your skin will heal almost completely in next 10 days.
No, the downtime isnt that bad. I thought it might be a month plus. But after day 8 you are extremely red and then thats it. Amy says the downtime is about fourteen days but the redness persists 3-12 weeks post-op.

honestly, without "pumping" the judgment, I see an 80% improvement, since 2017. what do you think about it?
I would say the same but I may be jumping the gun with the results Im seeing right now lol.

Pain is the worst on day 2 and 3, probably a 7 or 8 but you are given pretty strong pain medication. Your face feels like it is on fire during that time.

No, laser did not. I have to look really hard to see any texture on my left cheek atm.

This is great news the texture is nice but hey you are on the right track as compared to laser you are already doing better. Thanks for inspiring other people by your post.

Is this a possibility if money isn't an issue?
I believe it is, I have heard of this happening. I thought it was a one and done procedure but it can be repeated.

Right now the rigid powder mask is cracking. I have reapplied it in some spots but mainly checking in with Dr Rullan and getting his opinion. I think (and will have to wait for the doctors ok) the mask will be ready for removal in the next day or two.
For meds, you get given antibiotics that you take daily, antiviral medication (daily as well), pain medication (hydrocodone, Motrin, toradol) sleeping medication (halcion).
Oooh, I need to make use of my HBO subscription so many good shows. The downtime is actually nice though, its relaxing and you know your skin will look better at the end of it.
Day 7
Yes, all in the same session. You look great!
2 hours ago, NagarNikku_ said:Do you think you'll ever repeat this? Just to get close to what society deems as perfect skin?
Honestly, I probably would. But not until Im closer to 30 (25 now). I have spent so much money on this journey, at one point I have to let myself live a little. The peel is powerful and I could definitely see myself repeating the procedure in the future.
Day 12 - unflattering close ups. Skin still incredibly raw have to be very gentle applying skincare. I have a forehead scar that I think will only lessen with filler.
@shei514 you look amazing!!! Honestly I'm really hoping you have a speedy recovery and see the results that you deserve.
I have been following your progress since the beginning and will continue to do so. You are a true inspiration and I'm sure everything will work out for you just fine

2016-2017 - fully ablative erbium laser resurfacing x2, fraxel laser resurfacing on cheeks x 6 (none of this was performed by Dr Lim and when I realised the results werent good I chose Dr Lim as a dermatologist).
2017-2018 Dr Lim - CO2 Core (I believe 3 sessions), CO2 Ultrapulse (one session), multiple subcision and filler treatments. Subcision was almost always combined with laser resurfacing with Dr Lim.
2019-2021 Dr Rullan trio package x 2 (erbium, phenol cross and sub), filler and sub with Rulllan x1 (no laser). Chemabrasion.
2019 Dr Ben Behnam - TCA Cross (believe 3 sessions of this), filler treatments (I believe 3 sessions with no sub) 1 x subcision. I mainly did filler with this doc and TCA cross.

How would you rate your improvement from the phenol now. When you post pictures can you compare what your thoughts are on improvement from your perspective comparing to baseline.

How did Dr. Behnam's and dr. Rullan's subcision technique compare to Dr. Lim?

Right now I think the improvement is about 30-40%. The left cheek has had the most improvement, I can still see texture and shallow scarring but so much softer and less intense than it once was. This cheek for me is the worst, Im glad it looks much better. The right cheek Im less sure on. My two deep boxcars remain, although harder to see. I cant gauge the improvement so far. But overall my face looks sooo much better compared to baseline. A very good outcome so far.
In my bathroom when I look at my face, especially my cheeks in harsh lighting they look much smoother.

After Phenol Left Cheek

Thank you! I used a tinted moisturiser yesterday but the skin is far too dry and it ended up looking so patchy. So Im just waiting it out. Using a lot of moisturiser

Yeah the texture is nice, hopefully over the next 1 to 2 months you will start to see more improvement and smoothness. This is going to be exciting!!!
Do you happen to have the update email of Amy or whomever is the new patient coordinator? I emailed them but can't seem to get a hold of them and my emails got denied submission. I'm actually motivated to get this thing done sooner. Do you feel the redness decreasing by the day and slowly reverting back to your neck skin tone?I thought they matched you up with something so the redness wouldn't look as jarring/blatant.

yes redness is decreasing every day, slowly but surely. However if u have a job to go back to after this procedure I would take at least 2 weeks off.
I know you can go in for an oxygen facial and Dr Rullan was discussing this for the redness but Im not going in for this as I kinda maxed out my budget with the phenol peel tbh. Also they talk about make up and things to cover the redness.
Day 14
I dont know if I mentioned this (my thread is so long lol) but rullan texted me this Looks really good. Dont focus on surface irregularities. Those will heal over next couple of days and months. Good color.
