My caretaker is my bf so no cost. Honestly I stayed in San Diego for one night enough to do day one and day two, then my bf drove us back to LA.
Serious Mass protein powder has a lot of calories.
Day 6
Thats great! I cant wait to see the rest of this procedure that you got. When do you stop applying the powder? Did you have to take antibiotics? Yes, me too, Ive been binging the Sopranos on HBO. Im half way through season 4

Same with you! Did your derm do CO2 Ultrapulse and subcision in the same session?
Right now the rigid powder mask is cracking. I have reapplied it in some spots but mainly checking in with Dr Rullan and getting his opinion. I think (and will have to wait for the doctors ok) the mask will be ready for removal in the next day or two.
For meds, you get given antibiotics that you take daily, antiviral medication (daily as well), pain medication (hydrocodone, Motrin, toradol) sleeping medication (halcion).
Oooh, I need to make use of my HBO subscription so many good shows. The downtime is actually nice though, its relaxing and you know your skin will look better at the end of it.
Day 7
Hi, I hope you are doing well. I have gone through a bit of the forum. I actually had my second phenol peel 2 months ago from Dr. Rullan. It's a really difficult process lol. I was actually blind my first day and had bad pain for 30 minutes. After that there was no pain but I was so sick that I was constantly throwing up the second day. Third day I was still sick but after all that I was fine the next week.I had similar scars to yours in the before pictures taken in 2019 by you. My scars have come a long way as well. I totally understand how difficult it is as a female having acne scars. I just turned 23 and I finally feel a little more comfortable in my skin after my second phenol peel. Just a bitmore comfortable but under certain lightning it's still hard honestly. But I still need more treatment for my very stubborn scars. There's just a couple that are still a bit stubborn. Dr. Rullan says I will stillneed punch excision for a couple of them on the day of my phenol being completed in May. And I believe punch excision gives major improvement right away so I'll be doing that soon. Is this your first phenol peel? You have gotten so much improvement just from doing those other treatments so I'm sure this phenol peel will make a bigger difference. My first phenol peel made a HUGE difference in my skin. I was shocked. My second one made lots of improvement as well. I would say my scars are a bit shallow now but like I said there is a couple that are still being stubborn and some ice pick scars that are shallow now. I started treatment in January 2020. I have had the trio in January 2020, phenol peel in March 2020, cross + erbium laser (erbium did not really help for me) in September 2020, 2nd trio in November 2020 and then 2nd phenol peel in May 2021. Maybe I would say with all of these treatments I am at a 60-75% improvement I think. I will upload photos whenever I have time or create aforum to post.

Is it still painful? How comfortable are you now? I can't wait to see how it turns out for you. I'd really like to do this procedure as well in the end to fix texture issue and superficial scarring.
You rock! Win this battle!

No, not painful at all anymore. First three days are painful not going to lie, but smooth sailing after that (my experience). The mask is tight and uncomfortable initially and very hard. I actually vomited on day three and it was awful because I could barely move my face as it was so hard.
Yes, Im really interested in seeing the results of this. I have a lot of texture, a lot of scarring. I will do videos and stuff showing my texture for people who are interested!
I know I am going to be extremely red once this mask comes off. I can see some of my skin (sorry for the extreme close up, other photos dont show it as well).
We're rooting for you Shei! Hopefully this phenol peelis the key

Day 10

So the skin is extremely sensitive and red. Like a very severe sunburn. I am redder and more pink than I thought I would be.
As for my initial observation, my skin appears so much smoother. I cant see texture I used to see. The left cheek especially seemed to respond very well and I am surprised at how much texture this peel seems to have eradicated. My forehead is smoother, my right cheek is smoother too (however I can still see my two boxcar scars, I believe these scars are for life they are smaller tho because of the peel).
This may be premature at this point and I will see over the coming weeks if these results hold. My jaw actually dropped seeing the left side, I couldnt believe it. From what I understand about this peel, it is entirely different from laser resurfacing where you have micro swelling and you initially you think your skin is amazing but your skin bounces back to more or less its original state and the disappointment sets in. Either way I will be updating honestly.
You give me so much hope. Whenever I feel hopeless I browse forum to see your latest update. It helps me a lot.
You're a beacon of positivity for me. I hope your skin heals and surprises you, and you achieve what you're ultimately seeking.

For large boxcars since they would be way smoother now you use filler and that should be it. Close to perfection or pre acne scarring skin. Its too early to say about the results, but I believe you have done the hard work, and you did whatever you could do to improve your scarring. Heres hoping this is the end of journey for you where you can move on.
here is a video link showing how the skin looks at day 10 - this is just to show how flakey and red it can look for any one interested

Thank you! I wish the same to youand anyone reading here feeling hopeless as well. I used to feel so helpless and depressed. No one in real life quite understands the pain of having acne scarring.

I was considering excision potentially for the bigger boxcars but they are getting smaller now it might not be worth it. I hope I can just top up with filler and I need to be realistic about what damage to my skin is permanent and not worth treating it from acost/benefit analysis point of view
Here is another video link to day 9 after taking the mask off.
