Hello Everyone! After reading through a LOT of information on this board, and even bookmarking a few posts for easy reference, I have decided to join the site. I can't seem to find what I am looking for and am hoping one of you knowledgeable people can help me!

I recently purchased TCA 100% for Cross and TCA 15% for peeling (it is a kit). I have been using mandelic acid cleanser, toner and serum as a pre peel regimen to help see better results with the peel. I have watched videos and read a lot and feel very informed on both procedures so that I can do them safely. I did TCA Cross on two scars 12 days ago and have seen some improvement. I will Cross them again in a few weeks along with other scars, now that I know I can do this safely and not do further damage to my skin.

Here is my question:

How do I go about doing Cross and Peels together? I can't find information on that, other than one post and it didn't make sense to me.
Can I apply my 15% TCA Peel, neutralize and cleanse and then do my TCA 100% with my toothpick on the individual scars? I am thinking this would be a no-no because the peeling of the 15% solution will pull off the scabs from the TCA 100% prematurely. Should I do them separately then? If so, which should I do first? How long should I wait between each procedure?

Background: 46 year old female, small hormonal pimples along my jaw and on my neck with my cycle which is much better (nearly gone) with the mandelic acid, fair skin, left cheek ice pick scars and boxcar scars, right cheek three small scars, one scar on chin. I think they look worse to me than they really are, but I would like to improve my skin.

Love this site! So great to read success stories and see people trying to help each other!!

Catherine

Hi there you don't cross and peel together (you wait till they heal 2 or 3 weeks and then you can do the whole face. You don't want a double treatment for the spots, unless you can avoid the icepics / pits and treat around them with the gauze or fill the with vaseline if you have to do it at once. Vaseline keeps the spots or areas around the nose, mouth, and eyes from getting acid, this is important, you do not want to tca there. You can spot treat with tca peels as well. Never drip. Use those gloves to wring out the gauze so its barley wet, drips are how burns are made. Don't double treat also (inward outward, or across in as close a hand brush as you can). For CROSS, make sure to dab the toothpick on the papertowel, no drips. The wood soaks up plenty for each spot. This is why you hold it there and wait for frost. You press into icepick but don't break skin.

Do your cross, heal, then do your full face peels including the pits as you brush across the gauze.

Davin's videos are good on TCA and other acids, he just doesn't show cross since he uses a syringe, that takes major skills. He should have never used that pic, you don't peel your skin, it falls off naturally, you vaseline or triple antibiotic it daily, and use dilute white vinegar pats of the gauze to kill bacteria and help loosen skin naturally.

Thank you so much for such a quick reply! You are one of the posters I have bookmarked with your very informative posts! I have Davin's videos bookmarked and have watched them several times. He is really where I have learned how to do things safely. My TCA peel is not self neutralizing as it has two other acids in it. The kit came with the neutralizer. I purchased gauze for the peels as he used. I have watched videos of girls applying with a fan brush and the go over the same area several times. I will do one "swipe" with the gauze over each area. I am so excited to do this. Again, thank you for your reply. It was exactly what I needed !

I just purchased a TCA cross on Amazon 75% to use on my ice pick scars specifically on my temples.. a few years back I did two or three fractional laser treatments. Last year I did a infini laser / micro needling treatment. I've done peels nothing works for these ice pick scars.. I've been to consultations with other dermatologist or plastic surgeons I told them about TCA cross and they for some reason don't push it or they dont perform the procedure.they push always a laser a laser a laser!! It's gotten to a point where I have to go do it myself . I think that straw that broke my back was this past weekend when my coworker asked me what happened to my temple if I had an accident there.. so let's see how it goes. wish me luck guys. Any tips or comments I would greatly appreciate it.

Please read the FAQ top of the scar solutions sub, first post, goto the tca section, click the link. Read the whole first page. IT will tell you how to cross safely. Start lower and build up %. Test on only one icepick first so you know what to expect with healing. Yes laser is terrible for what you have going on, cross is the treatment for icepicks.
