Have you seen some improvement in your boxcars Quan?

I have a sunken atropic scar on my cheek, similar to the one in the following video. Could the derminator produce results as good as this? My scar isn't as bad as the one in the video but it is sunken, about half a cm length and width and a mm deep.

Yes microneedling can help aka derminator with TCA spot peels in between. Please see the below FAQ in my signature it tells all about this and talks about scars.

The only thing that will raise the scar not soften it's appearanceis subcision and filler which is done by a dermatologist, see subcision. But you can always try microneedling and TCA first for one scar.

Absolutely.

Ihave done 5 sessions. I will be doing my 6th as soon as I get a chance. I started working a full time M-F job a couple weeks ago so it's tough to squeez a treatment in our my schedule right now.

Nice!

Is anyone using the single needles for their scarring? I really want to try it, but i am afraid the needle might break or something. I think it is useful to use the single needle not at his fastest setting.

The Derminator came with one single needle cartridge which I tested out on my worst scar. I actually liked it a lot but I havent ordered any more.

Did you use the fastest setting? And 2.0 mm?

Does anyone have updates on their progress from using the derminator? I did a TCA Cross 8 days ago, still have some scabs, and redness where the scabs were that have come off. I will take some pictures soon to get opinions. I am trying to decide whether I want to do a TCA peel next or microneedling. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I just found this thread after making a post of my own asking if the derminator was worth purchasing after using the dr pen for a while. Any more updated opinions from regular users? Has anyone had any problems with it?

@kat22@ericb12

We recommend the machine on here often, no problems with it. Its a professional level machine for a cheap price, ... cheaper than going to a derm for one treatment. You will not see any updates about it because people who are happy move on from this site when that happens. Also there are several of us who are doing TCA peels and other things like subcision in combo with the http://derminator.com .It's excellent for at home treatment and yearly upkeep.

I know I have advised Kat elsewhere but for anyone reading, I advise doing a derminator session, then the next month doing tca spot peels / or full face peels / for icepicks tca cross (alternating) for a year.

To learn about acid peels goto my faq below in my signature and find tca peels at the bottom, then the all things acid peels link.

beautifulambition,

had you used any other devices before the derminator? were dermapens ever big on this site? I have one now but I would definitely be willing to switch if I know the derminator is better.

@beautifulambition Thanks for the post! When you use the derminator, does it make you bleed? In order to see benefits, are you supposed to bleed? I watched a video of a woman using it and it was scary!

@kat22 Can you please post that video? i just got the derminator device. I am wondering whats the best way to use it?

optimal settings?
How fast to move the device on the face?
How many passes per treatment area?
etc

@keving100

Ok, here is the scary one!
Scary derminator

Here is what looks to be a mild usage of the derminator
Mild use

I just found this video journey showing great results from microneedling
Before, during, and after

I don't have a derminator (I have a dermapen) so I don't know how to use it.

@kat22 Yes your supposed to bleed, What do you think prp is, it's your blood :objects_v1_88:. You needle and let it dry the blood that is of course spread, you can wash off in 3 hrs. You use pure (when I say pure, that is the main ingredient) HA serum before and after treatment. It goes so fast, its not freaky like a needle, were talking fast, and I hate needles. It takes a whole weekend to heal starting Friday, work, Monday.

It's easy to use, we go over this in detail in this tread, haha I can tell you guys aren't reading the posts I spend alot of time on to make ;-P

If you need a quick idea, goto youtube, put in derminator, they show you right there, it's just circular motions all over the area.

@keving100 All of this is covered in their PDF http://www.derminator.com  ;), I put all the setting in this thread somewhere. I do not follow them as I am doing other setting now. Minimum effectiveness is 1.5mm to max you can handle (on fatty areas go deeper, on boney areas you go less), sanitation is covered earlier in the thread. I think it was 3 passes, but some including me do more, How fast depends on the speed you have the thing, I use it at top speed so I can go fast (it hurts less), some go slower, its pretty easy to use. I have yet to see someone who does not know how to use it. If you do not do TCA peels as well you will not get results by alternating (this is just collagen stimulation). It is used as upkeep also yearly by people who want to beat aging. IT does not resurface texture like TCA. It's also not subcision.

@ericb12 They should pay me something "derminator", haha I get nothing for helping you with this ;-P Yes it's better than any pen, first of all it's made better Swiss / German, it has a longer warranty,  it's cheaper than the professional pens, maybe not the shitty vibrator pens (which use vibrator parts - China :smileys_n_people_90:). It clearly does not tear your skin like the rest, they do a test right there on their website video http://derminator.com  "no micro tearing" and it goes faster, longer needle settings, automatic needle length adjustment (software), replaceable magnets in the head, can be wiped down with alcohol. Cheap.

It depends. After almost 2 years I don't bleed anymore on cheeks even with max needle length  (except the forehead) lol

Are you doing other treatments or just the derminator?  How much improvement would you think you've had with it? You must like it if you still use it after 2 years.

@beautifulambitionFor some reason, your posts show up as 'deleted' in this thread?

Couple things i need your suggestion:
1. do you re-use the needle cartilage or throw it out after 1 session?
2. Can i use oils such as rosehip/ jojoba before and after needling sessions instead of HA serum? some esthetician recommended this to me

@keving100I live near Toronto. Did you have to pay duties or anything? I am considering ordering the derminator. I have a dermapen but I think it's a waste of time. The derminator looks far superior. I think I am just scared of it. LOL.

kat22, I also have a dermapen, the ebay knockoff Dr. Pen. I know it's really nota superior device. I have drawn blood, but I have felt like it "dragged" along the skin since the beginning. and that's why im looking at the derminator.
