What do you recommend for my scars?(photos)

I have never really worried about my acne scars because noone had ever commented on them. Though now recently I got into a fight with my brother and he called me crater face. Then I overheard a convo in which a girl that I like said something along the lines of "I would never date a swiss cheese face" and the other person saying "it wasn't my fault don't be mean". By the way this girl is super nice, so I don't know who else could possibly have been talking behind my back. I live in shallow land basically.

Also lately I have been noticing that people stare at my face like in disgust, especially in certain lightings. All this in the last months. I am now always looking at my skin and it depresses me. Also people always think I am a lot older than my age.

KEEP in mind these photos don't do justice to what I see on the  mirror, but please tell me a treatment and guess my age too.

Note: all photos are from today.

Thanks.

If you think people stare at your skin and look at you weird then you are deluded. You don't have any craters, you have very shallow and minor scarring. It doesn't even look close to bad in a single picture. I doubt I would even have noticed your scarring in real life. I think you look very healthy actually.

Why do people keep saying that they see people staring in disgust or something similar? Cracks me up every time. Like someone would be disgusted by some extremely minor scars on your skin. My scars are much deeper than yours and still not even considered bad, and I've never felt that anyone has stared at me in digust. Even if you heard that swiss cheese face thing I doubt she was talking about you. You only started noticing people staring after your brother said some shit, funny that huh?

Anyways, subcision is a common treatment for rolling scars. But I don't know, your scars just look so shallow. Perhaps try microneedling & suctioning? I think laser could work well too, but it can be expensive. I probably wouldn't even do anything if I had your skin, but the mind plays tricks on you.

Hi, I totally understand what you are saying but all the combinations of these minor scars make me look older. My brother is 5 years older and looks younger than me. Its true I might be exagerating about people giving me weird looks, but I have received comments like you look nicer today on CLOUDY days. So I am certain that they do notice.

I'm going to be following this thread.
I actually came here today to ask the same thing with my own similar scaring.
My Dermatologist pushed Retin A and Tazorac Rx's and people seem to say it takes 2-3 months then you see a massive improvement. I never stayed on it daily for that long. :(

Can any of those options you mentioned be safely done at home(aside from the at-home laser or skin cutting options)? Covered by insurance?

Very minor acne scarring. Looks good the way it is but combination therapy would probably take care of it completely. Subcision, microneedling (dermastamp), TCA peels, retinoids (retin-a, tazorac). Dude, you're hanging out with the wrong people. It's not you, it's them. Find better friends!

These are bad people. It is not your scars man but these people. I wish more would notice the difference. Your scarring is so shallow please don't worry about it, it is practically non-existent. Anyone that says you look nicer today on cloudy days is a fucking shallow pest of a human being. The thing is they could say anything but knows you'll get upset by that and thus get off on it. It's classic, but it isn't about you.

Swiss cheese really? Please look at yourself, are you seriously going to accept that tag? I hope you see the truth. I hope you find a real girl.

You can still needle your skin if you'd like... Just order one (minimum 1.5 mm - no more than once every 6 weeks), and then perhaps later maybe some TCA cross on the few shallow boxcar you've got. But personally I wouldn'tbother.

Good luck! You should find something about your brother which isn't perfect and use it whenever he says something about your scars... I mean we are human being we have flaws so he probably has some too.

You can purchase dermastamps or a derminator machine from owndoc: http://shop.owndoc.com/product-list.php?dermaneedling-pg1-cid48.html
These are better than dermarollers (less skin tearing).

TCA peels can be purchased online (ex. Skin Obsession) but do your research otherwise have it done professionally. Don't take any chances if you don't know what you're doing.

Retinoids: get a prescription from your derm or doctor.

Thanks everyone. I guess you are right, wish I was surrounded by people like you instead. I will try the retinoids a couple of months (3-4?) and then rollers/stampers.

About how much improvement would you say I could see in a year? If not much I will try to go for the TCAs earlier.

More important I will try not to give much thought to this and continue with my life. This has been messing my mind lately, but your words have open my eyes. Thanks.

I agree with the above posters on all points. First, your "acne scars" are practically non-existent and getting procedures would be a waste of money, time, and if you go to someone out to get your money it could make things a lot worse. Check out what some other people are dealing with on here. This is a non-issue.

Like il90 said, these seem like the kind of people who look for perceived weaknesses in other people. Even if the problem is very minor, they'll pounce on it and the moment you show them that it does affect you, they will exploit it to make you feel bad. I've gotten rid of a lot of toxic, mean-spirited people in my life and frankly I'm glad they're gone.

You wanted objective opinions, and the truth is that you have extremely minor skin issues.

I have a similar problem but would say my scars are a little more pronounce especially when I see them under fluorscent lights and in my reflection on cars windows/ store windows.

What really affects me is more my big pores and uneven coloring. What would you guys recommend in that case?

Yea I have had acne for the past 8 years, but just recently took accutane because it was turning into cystic acne. Luckily I changed derm on time since the other wanted me to keep me on creams and peels. So just finished my course a couple of months ago.

I wouldn't go past 1.0mm needling and 15% tca peels. In fact, I would leave it as is. Natural exfoliation over time would take care of these EZ

I am new here and I've never had anyone in my life call me anything mean ( besides my siblings... my brother who was older than me made a joke of the moon landing because of the "craters" or the indented scars on my face ) But I still feel insecure about my face. ( Acne for 3 years and it finally calmed down about a month ago but left me pretty bad scars )

I agree, your scarring is very minor and I think the looks of disgust is probably in your head. I think a series of yag or fractional laser would get rid of it, but probably wouldn't be worth the cost and risks (fat loss, risk of damage, etc). Maybe try retin-a or tazorac, or glycolic peels, it will probably be gone in a year, or at least greatly diminished.

I would not worry about these scars, it looks fine to me. None of the scars look very deep so if you wanted to get them treated you probably could, but I do not think it is necessary. People who judge based on physical appearance are not worth your time, trust me, it's taken me a long time to learn that.
