Hi!

I wanted to give this a shot so I made the mask this morning. I have read that if you don't use anti acne cream or something, this might not work. Well, the fact is that I haven't used any other product this far than Sebamed Clear Face Antibacterial Cleansing Foam ( http://www.sebamedusa.com/424.html ). So is this enough?

regimen now:

night:

1) Sebamed

2) b.soda

3) acv

morning:

1) Sebamed

2) egg-white mask (with lemon)

moisturizer after acv and after mask.

is this ok?

I've been doing this routine for about 3 weeks now and have not seen any improvement. Is it time to give up?

Night:

Baking soda + Cetaphil cleanser

ACV 1:1

Cetaphil moisturizer

the baking soda is harsh on my skin. I use it once a week because I can't do it everyday.

Egg mask is great! Love it..

Hi guys...im logging in after ages...got really emotional reading all the thank-yous..im glad my regimen worked for a lot of you who have been suffering like i did, years ago. now i feel i shd have marketed this like that guy who did 'acne-free in 3 days' and made some money LOL!! JUST KIDDING! i wd never make money out of other peoples suffering. im sure someone out there is selling this as their own but i dont care. as long as more and more people know abt it and get thru this terrible nightmare of a disease once and for all and not ruin half their lives worrying abt their face.

Yes Katek....you are right. I AM PROUD to have helped you all. cdnt have said it better.

GOD Bless us all!! Take care all of you!

cheers,

-delna.

my aesthetician is just AWESOME!!! I had gone in for my second Silk Peel and we were talking abt various skin care mistakes for acne-prone skin... she told me that all u need for those red marks to go away is follow these simple rules.

morning...

1) cleanse with a mild cleanser for sensitive skin.

she says the concept of oily skin and using oily skin products for acne is wrong! oily skin products are best tolerated by ppl who have oily skin but free from breakouts. anyone who is doing ANY treatment for acne will have sensitive skin. so hypoallergenic and sensitive skin products are the best bet for them! this is because oily skin products strips of all the oils on skin..so the skin counter-reacts by producing more oil and hence more acne. those with breakout free oily skin...mm...the lucky few..r the only ones to tolerate this..P.Acne bacterium..why do u hate some ppl and leave the others alone??? WHY??? :boohoo:

2) exfoliate

avoid all scrubs..no matter how mild they claim to be. but how do we exfoliate, do u ask??? oh thats easy...and DIRT CHEAP too!!! 2 WORDS- BAKING SODA!

she says that she has not come across any acne-prone patients who has benefitted from scrubs. it may work for a while in some...lead to initial happiness..yeah, and then lead to final gloom when breakouts appear from everywhere...even the areas where it was break-out free in the beginning! SO NO SCRUBS PPL :naughty: .use baking soda instead... just make a paste out of baking soda and water...and massage very gently. wash immediately. u have to do this after cleansing. u may be able to extract some ripe or loose blackheads afterward. hey and never try to squeeze a blackhead if its not ready to come out...u will regret it!

3) tone to balance pH

now that baking soda is basic in nature..something acidic is needed to balance the ph. ANSWER? APPLE CIDER VINEGAR!

use a 1:8 (vinegar:water) solution first and then gradually increase to 1:1 ..never apply it neat. BALANCED pH = BEAUTIFUL SKIN! wash off after 10 mins. dont leave it on.

4) apply ur acne cream..i use the Proactiv BP lotion. i use the amt Dan suggests for beginners...( edit: i switched to Neutrogena on-the-spot now). U can use ANY acne cream which suits ur skin. Dont skip this step.

4) Moisturise with SPF containing moisturiser. I use Cetaphil and it does not break me out. Look for the words sensitive skin, hypoallergenic & non-comedogenic WITH SUN PROTECTION FACTOR when u buy any moisturiser.

5) And for those who apply make-up, use non-acnegenic products containing titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. they r good for the skin too!

evening..

6) cleanse ur face ..( use baking soda and acv only once a day..morning or evening as ur preference)

7) apply a mild protein mask....till date..ive never found a mask that gives as good results as this mask..this is my aesthetician's favourite mask (btw..she has absolutely gorgeous baby-smooth skin and she told me that she had acne in her teens! hard to believe..!)

1 tablespoon of egg-white whipped up + a squeeze of lemon (dont put too much). smooth it over ur face..avoid eye area... wash off in 10 minutes....and look at a NEW REJUVENATED YOU!!

i tried this mask every day for 5 days....its AMAZING...my skin looks so refreshed! And bonus point is that done everyday...this will make the red-spots VANISH!!!

8) Apply ur acne cream before bed.

THATS IT!! JUST 8 STEPS FOR A HUGE BOOST IN YOUR CONFIDENCE!!

I am not kidding...there is a HUGE difference in my red-spots after just 5 days of this routine. I am going to stick to this routine. U guys ABSOLUTELY MUST TRY THIS.....

i will be glad to answer any questions regarding this....

TAKE CARE ALL OF YOU!!

I am such an advocate for a natural approach... It's always gotta be better

Our bodies were never made to endure these harsh, man made checmial products

My fave part is the egg white with lemon juice. My skin has some sort of clarity after I wash off the stuff. But unfortunately it appears to be a temporary effect. But I will be doing the mask every night!!

Here's what I do:

Morning

Wash with Clinique Rinse off Foaming Cleanser

Apply BP.

Moisturise with Skin Doctors White.

Evening

50% Castor Oil mixed with 50% Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Oil Cleansing method), steam my face for 3-4 mins then wash with Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser.

Apply Egg mask. Wash off after 10 mins.

Apply BP.

Moisturise with Skin Doctors White.

Hope the mask lightens my marks

I really want to try this, but I don't understand the whole Apple Cider Vinegar ratio thing.

Maybe I missed that math lesson, but 1:8 .... ok. 1 tablespoon, teaspoon, cup.... sorry. don't get it.

I need to know what measurements here.. :wall:

So then my next question is this:

I am currently on a pill I take everyday thats basically to fight bacteria. It's not specifically FOR acne, but my doctor said it works.

He also perscribed me BenzaClin which is a combination of BP and Clindimyacin (sp) Its a topical gel.

Well the thing is, I also have this three step (medical grade) acne medicine that I think is really working well. I didn't want to stop using it, so I do the three step one night and the BenzaClin the next night.

I wash my face with Cetaphil every morning as well.

I don't know if I should stop using one or the other, or just continue my routine with your regimen incorporated.

How does this sound for ME?

MORNING

1. Cleanse -- Cetaphil (Wash off)

2. Exfoliate -- Baking Soda/Water (Wash off)

3. Tone -- Apple Cider Vinegar/Water (10 min.)

4. Acne Cream -- BenzaClin (Leave on)

5. Moisturizer -- Cetaphil (Leave on)

NIGHT

1. Cleanse -- Cetaphil (Wash off)

2. Protein Mask -- Egg White/Lemon (10 min.)

3. Acne Cream -- 3 Step Treatment

I think this will help me... How does it sound?

See guys, when you put it like this, it doesn't seem so long and hard to do...

Also... A tip for all of us suffering from this HORRIBLE acne problem of ours,

If you have the money, I suggest investing in a face brush called Clarisonic MD

It has worked wonders on my face.

Its kind of pricy.. about $195 but trust me, its well worth it. Especially if you wear makeup. You won't believe how much cleaner you can make your face by using it once a day.

I love it. I honestly don't feel like i'm even cleaning my face good when I don't use it.

If you need proof of what i'm talking about.. girls, put makeup on, and use your regular cleanser to wash it off. Once its all off your face, go back with a cotton ball and some toner and go over your face again.

When you see how much makeup is still actually on your face (that was hiding out in your pores)

multiply that by like 10, and that is what is actually inside your face, and you can get all that out with the brush!

When you use the brush it gets like 99% of all that crap left in your pores.

If you thought the toner experiment was good, go get the brush!

I have a question

1) I can't use all the egg white so I store it in a frig after I made the mask (Egg + lemon juice)

Does the mask go bad if I store it?

Hi just a quick check -

Morning

1) Wash face with mild cleanser

2) Baking Soda + Water/Cleanser paste

3) Dr Secret Toner

4) Moisturizer (still jumping around brands, not sure what to use)

Night

1) Wash face with mild cleanser

2) Egg White+Lemon Mask?

3) Dr Secret Toner

4) Wash off mask & apply anti-acne cream

I'm pretty apprehensive about adding the ACV step, so if anybody is doing just these 2 routines (the baking soda paste + eggwhite/lemon mask) with positive results, kindly chime in! Thank you

Is it okay to take ACV orally instead of applying it on my skin? How do you apply the protein mask, by your own hands or?

I read through a good chunk of this, and all this work seems worth it for me to give it a shot. Right now, I am using Dan's Cleanser, BP, and AHA+, with the Oil of Olay Moisturizer that was recommended. Can someone recommend the process I should be using/cleanser okay/should I still use AHA+/stick with moisturizer? Thanks a ton!

Ok, I decided to just do Dan's Cleanser, BP, Moisturizer in the mornings and Quicksilver's at Night (minus mixing BS and Dan's Cleanser). Still wondering if I should get a new cleanser for night routine and if I should/can include the AHA+ in there.
