I was just reading through this thread (78 pages!!!) and it looked pretty good to try out. Ive got alot of dark pigmented marks from acne left over on my back. I was planning on using ACV to fix it up
1) Do I need to wash of the ACV off my back after i put it on at night or can i leave it on an sleep with it?
2) I like the bakin soda idea for a exfoliator and using the ACV to balance pH and clear red marks. Do I need to use the egg white/lemon face mask as well? What does that do?
At the moment I use Daniel Kerns Gentle Cleanser, Panoxyl 5% aquagel BP which works well, and simple light hydrating moisturiser.
I would class my skin as oily, but the thread starter said to use products based for sensitive skin as it doesnt strip the oil away. Instead of using them could I use a bit of jojoba oil with my moisturiser. I like this moisturiser because most others makes my skin greasy or shiny but this one doesnt. The mosituriser choice is the only part of my regimen that gives me problems.... i just cant stick to one moisturiser. I think its either my simple light hydrating one or go for cetaphil which had good reviews... any help in choosing?
Last but not least - can i apply ACV using a spray bottle, if i were to mix it with water and then spray it on my back??
Thanks!
YESSSS... I kinda mess up the regimen a little bit. I cleans and then exfoliate with baking soda. Afterwards I use egg whites a litttllee bit of ACV instead of lemon. My results may not be as good as if I used it seperatly, but I'm definitly not complaining. My red spots are blending into the rest of my skin!
I LOVE IT outside in the sun! Usually my red marks get me depressed, but now when I see myself in the mirror while outside, I realise how much nicer it looks and my self esteem gets boosted.
Baking soda is not good for the skin since it's so alkaline in comparison to the skin. Apple Cider Vinegar on the other hand is just fine since its pH is within the range of skin's pH. Apple Cider Vinegar is around 5 pH. Skin is 4 to 6.5. Baking soda is 8.
Please read: Why skin pH is important

Okay its been 4 days. I do the same regimen but instead of baking soda i exfoliate with a hairbrush (see the baby hairbrush method thread).
My red marks have faded as if it's been a month or so.
So, no baking soda, do the hairbrush thing.
Oh i also use ACV neat, but thats because my face can handle it.
I also take fish oil (about a gram a day), vitamin E (about 600g/day) and i changed my diet the last few weeks. Vegetables, fruits, stuff like that.
I started delnas regimen on Saturday, its now Tuesday and I'm starting to break out. My skin is like super sensitive. Baking Soda is the gentlest option right? Is there a way a can do this regimen but avoid the breakouts?
Also do you have to whip the egg in a bowl and then apply it or can you just rub it between your hands?
And just out of interest why is it apple cider vinegar rather than balsamic or white wine?
My doctor has put me on Duac BP gel so I just have to use that at night. I;ve started doing the baking soda exfoliation in the morning (I did buy a Clinique facial brush but it did nothing at all, the bristles are waaaaaay too soft!!) and I may start doing the egg mask again. I'm a little dubious of the ACV as I think that may be what irritated me before....but it may be better now I'm on BP I don't know....I've only been on it a few days...
I am considering using this regimen. I am not using any BPO or other topical acne product, as my acne seems to be finally under control. But I started using the MaMa lotion to help exfoliate and hopefully help future breakouts. Does anyone know if I could still use this lotion in conjunction with this regimen?
Mainly I want to fade my red marks, which are between 3 and 9 months old. Does anyone know how successful this regimen would be for marks that old?
i've just read the first page and i am very worried about the effects this treatment can cause... puttin first Baking soda ( wich is very alkalyne ) and after ACV ( wich is very acid ) isn't good at all. Teoretically it should ruin your skin. It's like putting some ice on your face and then to balance pourring 1 liter of boiling water over your skin!... does this really work against acne?
delna...
Hello! i am so very new to this site! i dont really know how it works yet! i am a 24 yr old female and acne has always been an issue for me! not as bad as some but no offence to anyone to me its all the same emotional rollarcoaster every day or two! and very very bad for self asteem !!
any way! i stumbled across this topic and decided to give it a try! , i am going on accutane (isoterian) in 2 months but i have a significant amout of brown marks, that id like to reduce along with a bit of active acne, i tryed proactive a while back and it did not do the job for me , so my question is how important is it to use BP OR SA with this reg? i currently use 100% pure tea tree oil mixed with a night calming lotion to keep my breakouts at bay.
Just wanted to know what you thought, or mabye ask your estition.(sp)
any way i hope this works!

This is my first time posting.
I came across this forum one very late night about a month ago trying my luck with any suggestions that people have for dealing with their acne. I will be 22 in September and I have suffered from acne since I was in about 6th or 7th grade. I've always hated my skin and hid under lots of makeup. I tried literally every topical treatment and antibiotic drug available (except accutane, because of it's scary side effects) over-the counter products, and even Proactiv, but nothing seemed to ever completely eliminate it. (Although going on the pill helped a lot)
I am posting now because I wanted to thank the person who created this post about the baking soda and vinegar. It has changed my life. For one, I quit soda and have tried my best to stay away from super sugary things (esp. chocolate) and lots of grease, but after using the baking soda and organic pple cider vinegar for a month my skin is absolutely clear. It's truly a god-given miracle. (I hope it lasts!)
I'm a semi-high profile model and my career is just starting to take off, so this couldn't have happened at a better time. I am so grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I hope this message finds you all here well. I wish you all here the best of luck. Never give up. I know how it feels. This is a great support group.
