my aesthetician is just AWESOME!!! I had gone in for my second Silk Peel and we were talking abt various skin care mistakes for acne-prone skin... she told me that all u need for those red marks to go away is follow these simple rules.

morning...

1) cleanse with a mild cleanser for sensitive skin.

she says the concept of oily skin and using oily skin products for acne is wrong! oily skin products are best tolerated by ppl who have oily skin but free from breakouts. anyone who is doing ANY treatment for acne will have sensitive skin. so hypoallergenic and sensitive skin products are the best bet for them! this is because oily skin products strips of all the oils on skin..so the skin counter-reacts by producing more oil and hence more acne. those with breakout free oily skin...mm...the lucky few..r the only ones to tolerate this..P.Acne bacterium..why do u hate some ppl and leave the others alone??? WHY??? eusa_boohoo.gif

2) exfoliate

avoid all scrubs..no matter how mild they claim to be. but how do we exfoliate, do u ask??? oh thats easy...and DIRT CHEAP too!!! 2 WORDS- BAKING SODA!

she says that she has not come across any acne-prone patients who has benefitted from scrubs. it may work for a while in some...lead to initial happiness..yeah, and then lead to final gloom when breakouts appear from everywhere...even the areas where it was break-out free in the beginning! SO NO SCRUBS PPL eusa_naughty.gif .use baking soda instead... just make a paste out of baking soda and water...and massage very gently. wash immediately. u have to do this after cleansing. u may be able to extract some ripe or loose blackheads afterward. hey and never try to squeeze a blackhead if its not ready to come out...u will regret it!

3) tone to balance pH

now that baking soda is basic in nature..something acidic is needed to balance the ph. ANSWER? APPLE CIDER VINEGAR!

use a 1:8 (vinegar:water) solution first and then gradually increase to 1:1 ..never apply it neat. BALANCED pH = BEAUTIFUL SKIN! wash off after 10 mins. dont leave it on.

4) apply ur acne cream..i use the Proactiv BP lotion. i use the amt Dan suggests for beginners...( edit: i switched to Neutrogena on-the-spot now). U can use ANY acne cream which suits ur skin. Dont skip this step.

4) Moisturise with SPF containing moisturiser. I use Cetaphil and it does not break me out.  Look for the words sensitive skin, hypoallergenic & non-comedogenic WITH SUN PROTECTION FACTOR when u buy any moisturiser.

5) And for those who apply make-up, use non-acnegenic products containing titanium  dioxide or zinc oxide. they r good for the skin too!

evening..

6) cleanse ur face ..( use baking soda and acv only once a day..morning or evening as ur preference)

7) apply a mild protein mask....till date..ive never found a mask that gives as good results as this mask..this is my aesthetician's favourite mask (btw..she has absolutely gorgeous baby-smooth skin and she told me that she had acne in her teens! hard to believe..!)

1 tablespoon of egg-white whipped up + a squeeze of lemon (dont put too much). smooth it over ur face..avoid eye area... wash off in 10 minutes....and look at a NEW REJUVENATED YOU!! eusa_dance.gif

i tried this mask every day for 5 days....its AMAZING...my skin looks so refreshed! And bonus point is that done everyday...this will make the red-spots VANISH!!!

8) Apply ur acne cream before bed.

THATS IT!! JUST 8 STEPS FOR A HUGE BOOST IN YOUR CONFIDENCE!!

I am not kidding...there is a HUGE difference in my red-spots after just 5 days of this routine. I am going to stick to this routine. U guys ABSOLUTELY MUST TRY THIS.....

i will be glad to answer any questions regarding this....

TAKE CARE ALL OF YOU!!

Another quick question: is it okay to crack the egg open, leave it in a bowl and then put it in the fridge and use day after day, instead of cracking a new one every day?

Hello, firstly i would like to thank Delna for posting her regimen up for everyone suffering from red marks! eusa_clap.gifeusa_clap.gif

My question is that will red marks fade as effectively if i don't do the mask? I live away from home on the weekdays and it is very inconvenient to make the mask at the place i stay.

i'll probably not get the 'glow' many of you are experiencing, but i can live without it, however i would really want to fade my red marks. The baking soda and vinegar part would be fine, just not the mask... cry.gif

hey, i'm sure this question has been elaborated on and answered, but damn, there's like 50 pages (more validation that this is a good regimine). so, my question: considering it's 6 in the morning when i get up, and preparing various exfoliators and what not is the last thing on my mind, is it possible to do the baking soda exfoliator, apple cider vinegar toner, and egg white mask all at night, one right after another? and then clean my face, etc, and apply my benzaclin. also, would applying scarzone, as i have been doing, after the mask provide even more results? anyone with a regimine similar to the one i have listed, please say if it's worth it or not. also, is this regimine ok to do if there are a few active pimples, or even a few whiteheads/milia (that could possibly become pimples...looking that way)? it won't further exacerbate the active acne?

thanks alot

hi i'm new here... but actually i've been trying out this regimen for about a month now. but i was also on doxycycline then. so i guess that is what is causing my outbreaks now. i would take doxy for a week then the following week would be ok then next following week would be cathostrophic(is there such a word). but the regimen is good as it feels wonderful after the baking soda and vinegar thing. now i come to my question... can i use the same acne cream once in the morning and at night. btw i am using PANOXYL 2.5%. coz it says in the packaging not to use more than once a day.

Umm... I really want to try this, but I have a question, it's probably already been asked but I can't find the answer.

Can I prepare all these ingredients ahead of time and refrigerate it and use it later. I'm woozy in the morning and will probably not mix the proper amounts. Btw, is it O.K to drink green tea and use Retin-A as my cream during this.

Haha, I plan to get rid of all my acne this year, so I plan on sticking this regimen out, plus drink all the water I need, green tea, and use Retin-A. Let's hope it works.

thanks for answering my question. Ive gotta say that this actually works, ive been using it for 5 days and it has lightened to some extent about 25 to 30% the red marks on my nose plus my face is very smooth. I hope that if i keep using it, it fades the 100%, but only time will tell. The thing i like about this is that when i put it on all acne and red marks fade, but as soon as i wash they slowly come back but with less power. This is what i use:

1.morning i wash with a 10%bp soap

2.make baking soda paste then wash

3.use apple cider vinegar and wash after 10 min

4.apply a 10%bp cream for the whole day

at night

1.wash with 10%bp soap

2.use egg mask and wash after 10 min

3.apply vitamin-A retinol cream overnight

this helps a-lot, it doesnt hurt to try it....

I did my first BS scrub and ACV treatment last night. I'm going to keep it up and see how it works for me. My chin is a disaster area. UGH. My skin felt great last night after doing this. I mixed the BS with my Cetaphil cleanser. Then I diluted the ACV 1:8, put on with cotton ball, waited 10 min. and washed off. Then I used my On-the-spot cream as Dan instructed. This morning I juse cleansed with the Cetaphil and used the Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture.

I'm so glad I found this site. I am 32 years old and my chin has been breaking out like crazy for a few years. First it was just one side, then the other started up. It's so frustrating. Just when I get rid of one, another monster pops up.

Tried the egg mask a few weeks ago and it seemed to dry out my face for I saw droplets of oil start to come out after a few minutes. Perhaps I didn't moisturize well enough afterwards.

Trying it again as I type since before I still had acne and now that birth contrl has cleared me maybe things will be different? *shrug*

Hey there!

Is there perhaps a good alternative for baking soda? I live in the Netherlands and I could not find it in any of all 5 supermarkets... (apart from baking powder.... but that's not that good for the skin)

Thanks a bunch!

Ahhhhhh! I tried his regimen today and my skin turned 2 different colours! The areas where I had previously applied BP (I washed it off efore starting this regimen) is a darker shade than the rest of my face, so now I have two dark patches on both cheeks!!! Whats happening?

Okay, last night was my 3rd night:

I mix the Cetaphil with baking soda and massage in. Rinse well then apply ACV 8:1; rinse after 10-15 minutes then rinsed and patted dry. Then apply the On-the-Spot, but no moisturizer after. This is at night.

In the a.m. I just wash with Cetaphil and apply Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture before applying my make up.

OMG. My skin is clearing up so well. And it's not as irritated because I'm only using the On the Spot only once a day. My acne is just moderate and only in my chin area.

I LOVE this BS and ACV. My skin looks and feels great.

Hey guys,

Im so THRILLED to see my topic pinned!! WOW eusa_clap.gifeusa_dance.gif Congratulations to everybody who saw results with this regimen!!

I have mentioned this before, but for those of you who do not have the patience to go thru the whole thread...here's my treatment for newly erupted pimples...YES!! I GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK...

You have to feel your face thorougly each time you wash it. (but after you wash your face and put your make-up on, hands off ok??!!!)..feel for any new bumps...if you feel a pimple coming up, clean your face with ur face wash. Soak a soft towel in hot water. squeeze off the water and press it on the area. After a few minutes, remove the towel, mix some baking soda with water into a paste and apply it on the spot alone. let it dry. Wash off. And VOILA`.....YOUR BUMP IS GONE/REDUCED!!! You have to do it immediately after u feel the pimple coming. Then moisturise ur face and leave it alone.

Even if your pimple is in the last stages of erupting, doing this procedure will bring out the pus soon so that u can push it out gently(never squeeze...if it does not come out dont try to force it..you will scar! try it the next day instead!!!)..After the 'white stuff' comes out, make b.soda paste again and apply to the area. After it dries u will see that b.soda has soaked up all the fluid in the pimple and the pore is closed! ITS WONDERFUL! TRY IT!! I LIVE BY IT!!

take care, guys..and thanks for making this thread a success!!! smile.gif

Dave,

Have you stopped your SA use?  I am curious what your results were.  Also, how much B5 do you take daily?  I am taking Spironolactone for decreasing oil production, but am having bad side effects.  I have always thought that you would have to take thousands of milligrams of B5 to notice improvement.?  What is your dosage amount, and have your seen results?

I also do not care for BP.  My skin is extremely sensitive as well...that is why I am a little leary of trying the vinegar again.  I will just dilute heavily.  I do feel the need to apply something after cleansing, exfoliating(Baking Soda), and balancing(Vinegar)...an anti-bacterial product....anyone have any suggestions besides BP or SA?  Maybe I should just moisturize and be done. ????

How wonderful would it be for this easy, inexpensive regimen to work well enough to balance our skin, and help clear and decrease red marks in the process????

Keeping my fingers crossed. smile.gif

Thanks

i was just wondering if u don't have acne-prone skin- i just have a couple pimples on my cheek, 2-3 on my chin  and i've got red marks left- what can i use to get rid of those damn red marks left??
