Using just the egg white is what risks breaking you out because the albumin protein in the white has an incredible pore-tightening effect; however, when sebum production remains constantly high (as it tends to in acne sufferers), tighter pores risks blocked pores with the mask's consistent use. There was a thread on this site a while ago whereby many people who were using the egg-mask with JUST the egg-white, while they cleared initially, then broke out even worse than ever before. Using the whole egg avoids this. It is just as effective on red marks and indeed acne formation but dilutes the albumin with the carotenoids and vitam A in the yolk, significantly reducing this risk and prolonging the mask's effectiveness. As an insurance policy I still recommend in my program (click Natural Acne Program below) to use nightly for 1 month followed by only once weekly thereafter. Delna's right on the money with the BS and ACV, however you should feel free to tweak this at your own discretion because everyone's variable skin sensitivity will react differently and respond optimally with different amounts and frequencies of use. Listen to your skin, it knows best.
well this regimen is now my savior. It is doing wonders to my face. I have been using it for about a month now and damn its sure is working. Not only with the marks but my pimples and acne are gone i dont have break outs anymore. Only like one small whitehead by my temple but other than that their all gone. This is a must try if your have mild acne.
CAPEHORN: hm maybe you're right. i remember reading though an extensive thread, maybe it was on another board, where quite a few people there started breaking out in even more severe acne after a few months of the "egg" mask but by "egg" I believe they had been referring to egg white and not the whole egg. However I just extensively googled egg masks and while unable to find the original forum where I read this it does seem overwhelming that the egg white mask is in fact highly effective and SAFE for long-term use. Only exception may be uncommon individuals with particular highly sensitive skin allergic reactions to the egg white. Didn't mean to get into unsubstantiated scare-mongering back there and I'm going to recondisder this modification to my own program. Do you think my program looks too intimidating for most people-- can you suggest how I can present it differently so more people will want to try it-- because I really do believe that pretty much EVERYONE who does it will clear, and I'm sure that most people would be willing to go that little extra step if it means they can walk out in broad daylight with no makeup and look someone inches away right in the eye and grin and not even think about their skin! Because that's what it did for me and indeed quite a few others already. Thanks for your tips about the egg mask.
By the way, if you guys want a 100% guaranteed cure for red marks, do THIS:
Follow Delna's regimen tweaking for your own skin as necessary, and bear in mind the consensus is that the egg-lemon mask is probably the most important component. However some things just don't work as well for some as they do for others so listen to your skin, your own skin knows best. You can also spot-treat overnight with an aspirin paste on each spot (crush aspirins, ideally "uncoated," into bowl and wet with just a tiny amount of water, let dissolve in the water 1-2 mins and mix into a little paste, then dab on spots, leave overnight. 3-4 nights of this spot-treatment will pretty much get rid of all but the most resilient cystic lesions).
To cure your RED MARKS then on top of Delna's regimen take:
- 10g Vitamin C per day (ensure daily intake 3-4 L water so kidneys have no issue with supplements)
- 10g (2 teaspoons) MSM (sulfur powder) per day diluted in 1 L water, drink all at once
- 800 IU vitamin E per day
You can get these 3 things from any vitamin store. Take the vitamin C and E with a meal. A good daily multivitamin with your breakfast on top of these is also an excellent idea.
THAT'S IT!
For anyone who has been doing Delna's regimen but hasn't totally faded their red marks, this WILL make the difference.
For everyone else with red marks just starting or thinking of starting Delna's regimen, doing this on top of Delna's regimen WILL fade your red marks in HALF the time.
Bear in mind that red marks can and often do take time to fade. Nevertheless, taking the above supplements altogether, in addition to Delna's regimen, WILL fade your red marks at least twice as fast as they would have faded if you didn't do either.
If you don't believe, just click on my natural acne program link below and scroll to the bottom of my opening post to see the TOTAL transformation in my skin tone in my before and after photos, to say nothing of the fact that I cleared up COMPLETELY.
hi guys.. ahh should try the egg thing by now.. but got too lazyyyyyyy
so jsut egg white n few drops of lemon? once a day rite
n.. abotu the whole vingar n baking soda thing emm delina said it was imoprtant to use a ance creme like bp or sumthin.. but i dont use anythign to treat my acne.. well i dont get them as often so i am just worrid about the red marks left behind so i can skip that part?
I repeat the warnings againgst baking powder-I didn't read the instructions carefully, used baking powder and it BURNT! I had to dunk my head in a sinkful of cold water to get it to stop-all fine now, but scary. It will have been made worse by my being on accutane, but seriously, people, don't.
hi, i used the baking soda with ACV, i used the egg white with lemon.. and my face.. last night... and my face is a little dry and red...
im thinking in doing the exfoliation just 2-3 times per week and the egg mask everyday.. but ill use whole egg ( i need to use lemon using whole egg?)
what do u think?
im on just in BP as DAN recommend...
and im using moisturizer without SPF... is it really necessary to fade off my red marks?
tnx...
I've been on the Regimen for about 2 and a half weeks and wanted to start using the baking soda, apple cider vinegar, and egg mask for those horrible red marks. But I have a few questions.
1) How much baking soda do you use, and how much water do you add to it. Do you put the baking soda in your hand and add water to it or is there a better way to do it?
2) How is the apple cider vinegar applied to your skin? A cotton pad? Also, what exactly does it mean when said "never apply neat"? Also, where do you make the mixture in?
3) For the egg mask: is it better to use a whole egg or just the whites? Is lemon juice ok? How much lemon approximately?
Sorry, if these are stupid questions, but I just want to make sure that I won't mess it up. Thanks

acv is apple cider vinegar.
I've been using this regime for over a week now and I have to say that it is really working for me!!!
I've been washing with Neutrogenia Clear Pore wash/mask w/ BP (LOVE that stuff!) and doing the baking soda and acv in the morning and the egg mask (I include the yolk) at night. My acne has cleared up so much that I've stopped using my Benzaclin and I'm now using Queen Helene Mint Julup mask to spot treat....I swear that stuff is helping with the red marks, too!!!
This is a great regimine! I was wondering if anyone ever uses the asprin mask instead of the baking soda, though???? I've heard so many good things about it (asprin mask) and wondered if it was just as effective or even better than baking soda?
