Update - Having my 2nd subcision performed this upcoming August. I still don't know the exact date but since I start school 3rd week of August, it should be within the first week or two. I will ask for aggressive subcision again and have him treat the same areas he treated last time as well as doing my own needling at home right after, this time with a shorter needle length, 1 mm vs 2.25 mm However I am slightly modifying my course, Instead of suctioning for 2 weeks, I will be suctioning for only one week. I will then have Vbeam Perfecta done the day after the last day of suctioning and then my 2nd Vbeam 3-4 weeks later.

3rd Subcision for December ~

I'll keep you guys posted. I know you guys have been asking for picture updates but I will have to delay those until the day before subcision. The reason is because I had a terrible breakout (nasty nodular acne - ughh, the ones that tend to scar) on both due to me possibly being allergric to some ingredients in my Cerave PM Moisturizer.

Scar update - Left side shows the best improvement including temples - 65%+. Right side - 40-60%. Right temples need more work.

Subcision nodules - 1/3 remain, but almost gone.

Acne update - Jawline clear, temples clear, forehead clear - cheeks 2-5 subsiding nodular pimples, maybe 2-3 new scars but I'm sure subcision will lift these up nicely.

Hey Robertitoo,

Don't you think you should treat the acne first and then continue with the scar treatment?

I'm asking because that's what doctors usually recommend and puncturing the skin with needles may aggravate the situation.

I'm concerned that once I complete the 6-month post-Accutane period I will have to deal with some active acne as well as scaring- basically be in your current situation.

How bad is your acne and aren't you afraid it will get worse if left untreated? By the way, how did you get rid of it on first place- did you take accutane or you went another route?

Thanks as always!!

My acne is treated at the moment, I only broke out because of that stupid product. Never again...

I will always be acne prone but I wont always have active acne. The only type of acne that scars is the deep underground nodular type. The ones that have no head and tend to stick around for 2-4 weeks. Those have a 50% chance of leaving and indent (i've noticed), but most usually level off after time, unfortunately that wasn't the case 4+ years ago where I aggravated my skin a butt ton.

I never took accutane. I just started eating a healthier diet and using a simpler skincare regimen. I also believe my hormones are slowly calming down. That's the main culprit. The reason I believe this is because I haven't had a jawline pimple in 2+ weeks!

My opinion is that if you have a particularly nasty nodular cyst, get it injected with Kenalog STAT! Seriously, the longer a cyst sits around under the skin, the more time it has to cause inflammation that will destroy your own collagen and tissues. Just remember to get a low dose of kenalog, so that you minimize the chance of overcorrecting and getting atrophy. FYI, usually even in the worst case of atrophy, the tissues can recover. There's a long thread on here from a girl that got significant atrophy and still she recovered, albeit it took a long time. Don't suffer with a cyst!

Completed Subcision round 2!!

This one was definitely way more aggressive (and I thought the first one was wicked crazy) & deemed more promising.. it looks like it will deliver much more improvement!

I will upload pre and after subcision pictures/video tomorrow!

Stay tuned :D

Indeed, the more aggressive the treatment, the more swollen you get, the better the end results tend to be. I would say that the primary reason people often have disappointing results is that they hold back and play it safe, triggering a poor or mediocre inflammatory reaction that in turn yields poor or mediocre gains.

Updated pictures (little late): 1 day after Subcision + 1.0mm needling

Day 3 pictures look worse (in terms of bruising, adema etc) i'll upload them later today or tomorrow

Doing 4 daily sessions of suctioning cupping: 6-7am: 1 pass, 10-11am: 5 passes, 3-5pm: 5 passes and 9-10pm: 5+ passes with lots of emphasis on temples. I will conclude the cupping this Wednesday, the day before my Vbeam

Only 1 week of suctioning?

Yeah, I can't afford to do more this time. School and among other important things are around the corner. The first week is the most important one anyways. If anything, i can throw in a few cupping sessions with a few passes here and there after vbeam for another week but we'll see. Vbeam itself, causes it's own form of swelling and lifting. Which typically last for 2 days..It also activates collagen in the skin so that might help too. I'll be doing 2 of those.

Wow I love Coming on here to see your updates! I'm thinking of scheduling my subcision but would like more info/pictures of how you look following the procedure. I have to be able to pick my son up from kindergarten and if I look too horrible to do that then I'll have to wait for Christmas break or something! So if you can you should take a quick pic every few days so we can get an idea how long serious swelling and bruising lasts. Can it be covered/camouflaged with makeup? Thanks! And it looks great in the pics so far:) hope you get great results!

Wow !

I am really looking forward to your results.

How bad have you considered your scaring before your treatment ?

( I refer to the Goodman system like they used in those studies you have posted )

Good luck !

I'd say Mix, a few 4, 3's and mostly 2's!

Before my subcision i was very conscious about my skin now I'm not so much :).

I'm very happy I found a way to stop acne all together and that's by OilCleansingMethod and green juices with my Vitamix - i think they both help!

Are those bruises under your eyes?

Yeah.

Is the bruising around the eyes from the temple subcision performed? Just wondering if I don't have temple subcision done would I not get bruises around the eyes?

Thanks for posting the pictures! Looks like it could be covered with make up after the first week?

hey Robertitoo, your face is looking pretty good, i can only see like one scar on your most recent pic. I have a question, why did you go for the 1mm needle length this time instead of the 2mm+ you did last time? Do you think the shorter length is actually more effective for acne scars or are you going for a shorter length since your scars are alot more shallow now. Ive always wondered if I was doing more harm than good using the 1
.5mm.

1.5mm is ideal, that's about the depth of the deepest icepicks/boxcars and will net you a more decent collagen boost.
