I am fairly new to the forums. Anyways, i have been using the regimen for almost 2 months now, my acne was gone after 2-3 weeks of use, however after all the pimples and acne are gone, im left with tons of red spots on my cheeks. I can run my hand accross and it feels smooth but doesnt look like it. I have also been using the 10% Glycolic acid, but it seems like it didnt improve much, ive been on it for over 3 weeks. I recently just got a 30% glycolic, after first use my skin looks really bright, but then again the spots are still there. I really need help, the spots arent going away. thanks for any help..

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne is easy to treat unlike scars, it will be fade in time, around 6-12 months, be gentle and patience with your skin.

You can help to speed up the process with topical skin treatment. The most effective products that contain kojic acid, AHAs, asorbic acid, licorice extract and hydroquinone. Exfoliate your skin one or twice a week using exfoliating scrub, squeeze a small amount of scrub solution onto loofah and rub the darkened area in circular motion.

Always speak to your GP or dermatologist before purchasing any product. Instead, your dermatologist can explain options like chemical peeling and microdermabrasion.

Turmeric is a natural skin remedy for lighten skin and pigmentation, cause it's natural so it will take longer before you will see the result. You can try to make mask or cream, mix turmeric powder and honey.

Good luck

For topicals you can try Retin-A / hydroquinione.

Something that might work quicker, but is kind of expensive is a series of Vbeam treatments. This laser has a wavelength that destroys the little blood vessels near the surface, which is red you are seeing after the acne has gone away. A few of these should give you good results if money is not an issue. I've had them and they are about $200 per session.

No worries..

It depend on your skin type, you can make your own natural scrub, try baking soda and lemon or oatmeal with honey. Personally, I use Queen Helene Oatmeal 'N Honey Natural Facial Scrub. I love this! I've tried the st.ives and nothing has done the trick quite like this! I have oily skin, large pores, and this stuff made my skin feel so super soft..

You can actually by hydroquinone over the counter without a prescription but only the 2% strength is available. Prescription strength starts at 4%.

I'm a big fan of everything natural, you might wanna try to look at Meladerm Skin Lightener is loaded with natural ingredients such as kojic acid, bearberry, niacinamide, gigawhite, alpha-arbutin, licorice, mulberry, lemon juice and emblica. These ingredients manage the pigments, thereby eradicating the problems associated with skin discolorations, pigmentation and acne marks. The cream can be applied anywhere on the external skin.

Hydroquinone creams should be carefully applied to darkened areas only, to prevent the unwanted lightening of your natural skin color. Hydroquinone may cause irritation in sensitive skin. Daily application of sunscreen will help shield skin from UV light to control melanin production. It can help lessen the appearance of post inflammatory pigmentation. Best of luck in your pigmentatiom fading quest!

After multiple peels, seems like the marks arent fading, I used hydroquinone for few days and it actually made my skin much worse and discolored. My cheeks turned yellow and looks bad so i stopped using the product. Ill just go back to AHA

Its been 7 months since my acne is gone however the terrible red spots on my cheeks are still visible and big. Any suggestion? I opened this topic back in march, and very little progress has been. I have used multiple lactic, multiple glycolic, multiple Laser and Fraxel facials. And nothing yet. Spent nearly $1000 in the past 6-7 months. But nothing. Nothing seems to be working.
