Hi I'm new here. I had cystic acne for just 4 months, I used to have a smooth face before, it's just so sad. So I went to derma and he gave me tons of creams, retinoic acid, salicylic, erythromycin and adapalene gel, it just flared up and made it worse, and I started getting cystic acne, so I decided to go to another derma and had accutane. But my cystic acne left so many scars even if I did not pick them, I feel so bad about this. Can anyone help me what will I do with this? And will it ever fade in time?? I have cousins who had deep acne scars and after like 2 years they're completely gone, or maybe I didn't looked at they're face very well, but it's really unnoticeable. So is it ever possible? Pls enlighten me, I still have hopes. I had also cystic acne before I went to college but after that it left not a single scar. (I will post a picture) But this time I don't know. I heard about selevax, will it help me with my deep acne scars? I just started accutane last dec. I'm on 20mg a day. I don't have enough money for lasers, I'm just a student. Pls help, any suggestions? Attached are my pics after I had acne. And the other one was in college.
Scars (dents) don't usually go away on their own. Mine didn't, and I have them on my face since I was 19. I'm 42 now. The redness, though, will subside sooner or later, but it may take some years to complete disappearance.
Your scars are not deep, so when the redness goes away they will be noticeable only in harsh lighting (shops, elevators, overhead light, windows, etc).
Since your relatives had spontaneous improvement it may happen to you too. I had a friend when I was in high school who had a bad bicycle accident. He scraped his face on the floor and ended up with many deep scratches and holes (tissue loss) all over his face. Some months after the accident most scars had fiiled in. A very deep crater on his chin, about 3mm deep, after a year was also gone and no scars were left on his face. So if you have the right genetics your scars might improve on their own, but this is a relatively rare event.
jesus you did GOOD
hello guys, its been 3 years since i had the acne, and i run out of selevax, been using it for three years, i just bought 5 jars and it lasted for 3 years. it did a great job. and, i will be a medical senior clerk this coming may so im so excited! back to my scars, well if you look closely there are still there but not that obvious like before. the depth did improve so much. i cant give advice like sleep more, have some beauty rest and all of that because i never had those since i studied medicine. i think studying medicine gave me all these, because of the stress. i had acne 4 months after i started the semester. imagine that!
so my advice would be, wash your face with a mild soap, i used cetaphil, and also use moisurizers to keep my skin hydrated. i used selevax intensive scar cream in my case, and i think it help a looooot! and pls pls pls by all means prevent your face from getting more acne. but you cant prevent that all the time, plus i hate going back to accutane. so im using this retinoin toner, and it helped a lot in preventing acne.
In harsh lights it can still be seen. these are my latest pictures
so if you have questiions feel free to ask.

hey, i think yours is better than mine, those appear to be just hyperpigmentation and it will fade in time. good luck! 🙂
Hello guys! Its been so long since i posted this, its been a good year, and ive finished my medschool, just passed the boards last year so, yeah! This will be my latest update about my face. Its been really great, time does play a role in healing process. In time, the scars start to fade, depending on skin type, but lets hope for the best.
