Hello everyone!
In desperation of lessening the appearance of my scars, I lightly stamped them a month ago with a 1.0 mm dermastamp. By "lightly" I meant that there was no pinpoint bleeding and it didn't hurt that much. For the first week or so, it looked plump (due to the microswelling, I'm assuming) and since then it has looked worse. Since I tend to pay too much attention to my scarring, I thought it was me overreacting or being too preoccupied with it. But, when I spoke with a friend who knows of my scarring issues (and struggles), he said that they didn't look worse but they looked more noticeable. He then added that before it wasn't as noticeable as it was now.
I've heard people having their scarring get worse with a dermastamp so they stopped, but I was wondering if you all know of anything that may have caused this or if you have experience with it getting worse before it got better. I'm not sure if I should continue or if I should just give up, because if it has gotten worse with one stamping session, I'm assuming it might just get worse if I continue.
I suppose my question is, is there anything that I could do to remedy this? Or, do you have any experience with the "worse before better" situation?
I will add pictures later if I can. I'm not very familiar with threads/forums such as these.
Thank you!
Hmmm, i know of people who say there scars look worse after some treatments.
Take Tca treatment for example, people say it looks worse after the first few treatments as you need to have at least 3/4 to see an improvement according to some.
Maybe its like that? I know its a different procedure entirely.
I needled a scar once, but it bled and scabbed over. It looked better after the one treatment. Maybe you need to go deeper? im not sure...
where is your scar?
The nose is hard to treat, and other places respond better.
Also, i would go to a professional or make sure i am very well informed if doing my own treatments.
Good luck
@ Bonsai77: I am hoping there has been some instances of the worse before it gets better "phenomenon" with stamping, instead of it just getting worse. My scars are mainly located on my cheeks/jaw. And, thank you! I do want to go to a professional, but there aren't many in the area I am in.
@luvskincare13: I wouldn't want my experience to deter you as everyone has different skin / healing abilities!
Edit** Does anyone know how to add pictures? Or would I have to upload them elsewhere?
