I'm new to acne.org, and was really impressed by the advice and knowledge that many users have, so I was hoping that you could help me!

I'm a young adult female, and I've battled with acne since 14/15, but it only got really bad this past year when I was on a strong birth control that sent tons of hormones at me. What's amazing (in a really terrible way) is that it seems that every single time I get a blemish a scar follows. It just turns from a whitehead or raised bump into a flat, red bump, and nothing really ever goes away. Some of the red marks have been on my face for at least a year. I've gone off the birth control and am just trying to get my skin back to normal. The marks are on both my cheeks and my chin (as shown below).

I really do not know what I have (in terms of the technical term). I've had a someone tell me that this was active acne, that this is permanent marks, and that they'll go away in a week...but all of those really seem untrue. Please help me, I'm so ready to be done with this!

This is my current skin regimen, in this order:

-Alba Botanica Acnedote Face/Body Scrub:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B7V6T7O/

- Alba Botanica Hawaiian Pineapple Enzyme Facial Cleanser

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y8X0LE/

-Alba Botanica Sea Kelp Facial Toner

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014272H2/

-Alba Acnedote Invisible Treatment Gel

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041V83GM/

I do this regimen twice a day (morning and night) and in the morning top it off with Clinique Acne Solutions makeup.

My big questions: what products can I use to fix my skin? Should I be going to a dermatologist?

Here is a picture of my skin, honestly it looks so much better in pictures!:

you should be happy , you don't have real scars , and your skin look perfect !! ,, these marks look like post inflammatory erythema or PIH , the picture not clear enough to determine ,, but if you press on one mark and it transfer into white or skin color , so it's PIE , both of them can improve alone with time , so don't worry and yes you still have mild acne ,, please be happy your skin is beautiful !!

Thank you, I really appreciate your compliments and I'm glad I don't have anything serious! I've tried to do some research on PIE (even on this website) and it looks like there is not too much information-- does anyone have any guidance on what treatments can work?

I've been waiting for a least a year on some of these spots, and I'd rather get them cleared up sooner than later!
