What else does the VBeam help with? I have red marks, very shallow scars and blotchiness. Could that help? Do you think it's better than microdermbrasion?

I just want to warn you guys if you have moderate scarring that Vbeam is very superficial of a treatment. In order to get the most effective results a ablative treatment is recommended. I have done a lot of microdermabrasions and Vbeams. They are great, but you will need a lot of sessions to get good results. Good luck!

I think pretty much any moderate to deep scarring of any kind won't respond to Vbeam. From what she said, Vbeam appears to be good for only pigmentation and very minimal smoothing like super shallow need-to-look-real-close-in-good-lighting scars.

Hello! Thanks for the warning. Like I mentioned, I have PIH, some slight blotchiness and reallyyy shallow scars where you can barely tell it's there. (But I can tell and I hate it)I want to get a few microderms to cheer my face up a little before I go into lasering the ugly scars on my nose. From your experience, how many treatments of microderm will get rid of these minor imperfections?

Hi first of all, Vbeam IS the best for deep scarring- much better than microdermabrasions and chemical peels. It targets the capillaries in your skin and burns them anyway which is what reduces the redness. This treatment is ONLY successful for red marks. It won't do anything for pitted scars except make them less noticeable by taking out the redness

Ehehe- I was told id need 3 treatments but I have very deep setting redness. You might only need one or two

It's 2 days after my treatment and my swelling is about 90% down. I'm seeing about a 30% reduction in my redness which might increase over the next couple of days as my body reabsorbs the blood vessels that have been burnt. So far I'm very happy with my result and the way my skin looks

i had 4 microdermas with absolutely no success

i definitely notice the difference in my marks today! I'm going to make another Vbeam appointment tomorrow for sometime in mid-December as I definitely want to continue with this treatment. It's my goal to have my marks gone by coachella

Appointment is set for Dec 30th! I'll post some pictures before my 2nd treatment so everyone can see what I'm working with and again before my 3rd to compair

just wanted to update: it's been about 2 weeks since this treatment and i am so so impressed. my marks are down by about 50%. i did a lactic acid peel about 4 days ago and these past couple of days my skin has looked so so beautiful. I am even more excited to get my second peel done later this month because i can really see the results and they are amazing.

i have some "before" pictures posted on my other thread about lactic acid peels!! i'm gonna post pictures on here right before my second appointment because my skin will have recovered even more by then. you're supposed to see full results in 8-12 weeks

from what i understand, Vbeam does not work for brown marks. it doesn't do anything for your actual, physical skin and is instead targeting at the capillaries lying underneath. i think you would benefit most from chemical peels.. i've had a lot of success from doing lactic acid peels at home twice a month. they can be done as frequently as twice a week but i found that i get better results when i space them out more. i now use them less for mark removal and more for keeping my skin fresh

I had to postpone my second treatment until the end of this month because I went home for winter break.. But here's the marks I'm dealing with. The weekly lactic acid treatments have been helping TREMENDOUSLY

I also want to mention that even just after one treatment, I got 4 marks lazered and 3 of them are either gone or almost completely gone

I've gotten 2 Vbeam treatments and the results have been amazing.

My marks are down by 50% if not gone and it should only take a few more zaps to get rid of them completely.

From my experience, it takes about 2 weeks before you see any results and my skin if puffy/swollen but NOT bruised for about 2-3 days.

I would definitely recommend getting a Vbeam treatment for red marks because it works.

I'm not sure, you just need to find the right derm. I've had to problem with this treatment

Just wanted to update, today was my 4th treatment and my derm said it might be my last!! My marks have been reduced by about 75% so far and I can't wait to see the improvement from this last one. It usually takes about 3 weeks for me to see any results

vbeams are usually home runs or big disappointments. For shallow red marks.scars ( upper dermis and above) its the gold standard and you can expect a clearence of 70-90% for upper dermis redness reduction at best.For the deeper stuff there will be improvement but as the wavelength is pretty shallow ( goes only around 1.3 mm) you are going to need possibly a combination of IPL and Vbeam.

people may also get only 2-3 treatments and expect to see results from it. this totally isn't the case. I will probably get another 2 just to make sure my skin looks amazing and that it is worth all of the money and pain i've gone through with this. that will give me a total of 6 treatments.
