Okay, so after about 3 years of acne I have cleared the majority of it up using benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid combined, along with doxycycline. However, the marks left over after acne is almost more diminishing than acne itself. My cheek on the right used to be pretty bad but it has cleared up significantly with the red marks and acne as you can tell. However, there is little scars left behind on both cheeks, and one pretty big on the left (the bigger one is a birth mark). What would be the best procedure to improve my skin tone and scars? I am thinking about a chemical peel but am not very well educated in that field. I am going to see a dermatologist on the 29th but don't want to pay that much money for a procedure that will cost me hundreds of dollars. I am also thinking that maybe a ointment such as a retin-A will help with the discoloration and rough texture.

You have awesome skin texture, dont ruin it with lasers, do fillers or subcision on your scars as they are mostly rolling scars. AHA definitely helps with red marks.

These are not scars... Do Vbeam to fade the redness.

AHA has been helping a lot lately. The texture is getting better, but definitely not perfect. What I notice is that there are lots of realllllly small ice pick scars that I hope will fill in as I age, but then there are small boxcar scars which doesnt really bother me either because my scarring is not that bad. What bothered me is the redness which has gone down a TON. I had before and after pictures from april to now and its night and day. But as for the scarring, should I go with a chemical peel? I do not really want to do any procedures done by the derm.
