I have been off Accutane for about a year. All of my acne has been cleared for a long time but I have scars from the cysts. The pictures show a scar I have on my chest where two cysts tunneled together. It has left an indentation (or pit, or crater, whatever it's called) in the middle of my chest.
What is the best way to go about healing these kinds of scars? And what are they called? I have been told that just letting the skin reheal itself will help but it has been a year since the acne went away, and I am guessing that something can be done to expedite the process.
Unfortunately that scarring looks pretty deep, so it will be quite hard to treat. Take a look into the SCAARFX - it's a fractional co2 laser made to go deeper than normal ones - for treatment of back and chest scars. Another option could maybe be cutting out a piece of skin from somewhere else and dropping it into the scar - not sure if that's doable though. Subscision + fat injection might also be another possibility.
