I'm happy to hear that you're not bothered by it. If that's the case, i would leave it alone then.

Yes i tried TCA cross once but you have to do mutliple times to see results. Because my scar is on the top of my nose, TCA created a frosty crust and it was hard to conceal. when the crust falls it will look bigger and worse before it gets better. My nose got super red/hyper pigmented and was hard to cover with makeup. I was even more self concious and had to go back to work. My nose has been red for a long time from all those different procedures that i wish i never did any of it.

If you can take time off and not go out for a week at a time, then i would pursue TCA cross. It appears to be very effective and not as expensive as other treatments. I paid $100 for the session. Lasers can be ten times the price.

I hope it works out for you. Please keep is posted!

How long did it look worse after tca cross before it started looking better?

From what I've read, it varies differently for everyone. Some people see immediate results, some people see results after a couple months, some people don't see any results, and of course there's always the possibility of the scar worsening.

I too have a scar on my nose...right smack in the centre. I can not see your photo for some reason. I am truly devastaed about it. I was going to try needling, but decided against it...I am a chicken. I decided to go for a series of 5 fraxel restore treatments, just to spot treat.I have had fraxel restore for pore size with some success. I am not certain that the Fraxel Restore will improve the scar or not, so I am going to ask the Dr. to bump up the settings or do the Fraxel Repair. I have already had one treatment last week and am going to be going every 3 weeks. I will let you know if I have any success. I had enquired about filler but the dr. says it will not fill properly because of the pore in the centre of the scar. I am going to go to a dermal filler specialist for a second opinion. Waiting to see the results is seriously making me nuts.

Also as a side note. I tried Dermaflage...it did not work on my shallow scar but I can see how it may work on a deeper pit scar. In order to camoflage this indented scar...I have been using Sudden Change Eye Serum...sounds insane, yes...but I have perfected putting the smallest little dot of it in the centre of the scar and it dries and fills it so I can cover it with concealer, it is the only thing that is working so I can face the world right now.

I feel your pain. Nose scars totally suck and any sort of treatment on the nose makes me nervous. It sounds like your scar is fairly shallow so it could be superficial? Otherwise, fraxel restore might be the perfect treatment for you since it's not as deep. Good luck with the rest of your treatments, sending positive vibes! I'm really hoping to hear another successful nose scar story.

Hi guys. I have this indented scar on my nose. I attached a pic but my phone cam is not that good to focus on the scar, but in person it is big and deep. Any suggestions? I am more on natural methods please. Thank you.

Hey everyone. So, I had my TCA cross appointment scheduled in June with Dr. Dobry in San Diego. However, after consulting with her, she advised me to wait until summer is over due to my darker skin tone. I was a little disappointed knowing that I have to wait another 4 months to deal with this sucker. Mainly because I wanted to have this procedure done when I have more off time in the summer. Not to mention, I also got a freakin traffic ticket on the way back! (No front license plate on an interstate highway... WTF?) But she explained why I needed to wait and I trust she's looking out for my best interest otherwise she would have done the procedure that day. She also told me the nose is a little trickier but has definitely seen improvements and that the scar will look worse before it looks better. After walking out of her office, it gave me hope. My appointment scheduled for October. Will keep everyone updated.

As for my scar, it looks as though it has maybe gotten slightly shallower but slightly wider. Not even noticeable, as it looks bad either way, lol.

This is what it looks like today.

No way, man! I would take your scar waaaaay over mine! I don't even see why you're trippin on that scar, it's hardly noticeable... And I think piercing over the scar would just create more scar tissue.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to update my experience thus far. I just got back from my tca cross appointment. I was pretty nervous to say the least, but I did go through with it. It was a quick and relatively painless procedure, other than a slight sting for a few minutes. The scar frosted immediately with 100% tca. Again, she reminded me that the scar will look worse before it looks better, which is the one thing I'm trippin on... She gave me some stuff to put on the spot to help prevent redness/browness. Anyway, I am going to do everything in my power to keep the scab on as long as possible. I will upload a pic once the scab falls off.

Hi everyone!

Well, tonight the scab fell off and I can report that my tca cross procedure was a success! The scar is completely gone!! Like wtf?!?! The scab formed on Wednesday (2 days after procedure) and fell off today (Sunday). I put both neosporin and this other stuff that the derm gave me, i think some type of sunblock, on the scar twice a day even when it scabbed. The one thing I noticed was that the scab was slightly raised, which was completely different than any other tca scab I've seen from pictures. The spot is pink but no dramatic redness/browness or worsening of the scar like I was expecting. I honestly cannot believe how much the hole has filled in, it's a miracle! I am so stoked! This is what the scar looks like post tca cross.

I wanted to create this thread and document my journey in hopes that I could help others who suffer from pitted scars on their nose. It was incredibly discouraging to read post after post that nose scars are untreatable. Add the fact that hardly anyone posted any pictures just made it even more frustrating... I've read numerous horror stories about tca cross on this site, but I can confidently say that this shit can work, even on the NOSE! There is hope for you fellow nose scar sufferers! However, I'm not advocating the use of tca cross for everyone, as obviously, everyone responds differently.

Lastly, I just wanted to add that there is a lot of conflicting information on here about tca cross procedures/post care, which is why I would NEVER advise you to do it on yourself. Don't risk scarring yourself even more just to save a few bucks, even if the process seems incredibly easy. Spend the extra money and go to an experienced dermatologists who actually knows wtf they're doing, please. If anyone has questions about anything, feel free to ask anytime, although I might not be prompt with responses, I will eventually. Good luck to everyone out there, have a wonderful holiday, and go niners

Not trying to be a downer, but you might have to get more treatments after the inflammation goes completely away. What did your doc say?

Hola everyone!

Just wanted to give a quick update on the scar. One day after the scab has fallen off it's looking great! The scar is pretty much level with the surrounding skin and everything seems to be healing wonderfully! The only thing left is a tiny little cut mark where the center of the scar was. The skin is still pink, which I expect to be for another week or so. I am continuing to put neosporin and sunscreen on it twice a day. My conclusion on the healing process of tca is that it is really no different than how I heal from regular scabs. Here is a before/after pic of the scar in the same exact bathroom: post-355711-0-26557100-1417511986_thumb.

No worries, but I honestly don't think its going to be necessary. My derm told me that it would fill in but it would look worse before it gets better. I was not expecting immediate results. I think I just got lucky...

Hey everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday's. I just wanted to give another quick update on the scar. It's been a little over a month since the scab fell off and I can definitely say that the cross was an overall success! The scar did become more noticeable after the swelling went away but has significantly improved over time. The scar has filled in about 85-90%, to the point where I hardly notice it anymore. I am absolutely satisfied with the results and cannot be more grateful to feel confident in myself again . This will probably be the last picture I post on this thread but this is what it looks like today.

Hey,

dont touch it with any more needles! Nose skin heals very well so I am told by doctors and surgeons but is also a risky place for lasers such as c02. for this reason, I would have a fully ablate erbium laser, with ablates all skin off, done at a high-ish setting.

It goes less deep into the dermis than c02 but does take all the skin off so should really smooth it! If you can afford it I would get some PRP injections done at the same time, i combined this with c02 myself and it had a much better effect than just laser, my scars have filled 50% with one treatment of that, two months ago.

You should only be charged 50-100 or maybe $100 -$200 dollars for just this small spot. I payed several hundred for 15 spots on my face to be treated plus more for the PRP.

Hope that helps, dont be down about it, it will take a lot of inspection or a very very observant person to notice that. If it makes you feel any better i had chicken pox 9 months ago, and had perfect clear skin and now I have 15 holes.. Slowly but surely they are going/really improving but its a very slow proccess and I can see come of the bigger ones will always be there. You will be fine - im sure even a peel (done by a DR!) would help smooth this out

Do you have nose scars? I dont think i can afford that kind of laser. I live in asia and the technology here regarding lasers are very limited. Are the ones you treated with lasers nose scars?

I just did my 2nd TCA PEEL. I first started with 15% and 20% for the second time. It peeled and seemed liked it plumped but a week after it went back to the original depth.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

Hey, no not directly on my nose but I have just to the side of my nose and actually they have probably healed the best!

it really shouldn't cost more than 20-50 absolute maximum to treat just one scar! I don't know how much that is in Asia but should be even cheaper. Docs try and get people to do their whole face which costs thousands, but for one scar seems stupid! It is called 'spot treatment' if you only get on scar treated.

Which part of Asia are you in? I have read of many people having both c02 and erbium laser over there. I recommend searching online for a doctor with the laser you want and good reviews. I personally haven't dont peels yet, I want to try TCA too. So I am told, they won't do that much for a scar but I am still holding out hope they may smooth it.

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Sorry it's been a while since I have posted any updates. Anyway, over time the scar became slightly more noticeable once the swelling went away. It's been 9 months since the tca cross and the scar has improved about 85%. One day I might do another cross but as for now I am more than happy with the results and don't want to do anything that could potentially make the scar worse
