As awful and upsetting as this sounds I truly believe that you cant make a scarred face smooth. There are procedures that can I guess camoflauge them making them appear less noticable (if your lucky, found the right dr/procedure, and your skin heals well.
I have personally done a few treatments with little to no success but am always trying to stay up to date with any new procedures that might show promise.
So I decided to not continue on with treatments I felt were wasteful but to use products that I believe will improve my skin overall.
SO now for 3 months (still in the early stage) I use a 20% vit c serum everyday along with a great sunscreen and at night I swith between a retinol and an AHA serum and then top it with Cervae pm moisturizer. My skin didnt go from awful to perfect but slowly it is starting to look better. My skin has lightened to more match my neck so there isnt this demaraction between my face/neck. I am noticing less breakouts and my skin at times takes on a little bit of a glow.been . What I can say is that it makes me feel a little more in control of my skin. I feel like I am doing the best thing I can for it at the time which in return makes me a little happier:)
I will continue on and maybe another 3 months from now I might see more of an improvement.
This is my skin as of now........way far from perfect but better than a year ago.
I hope this might help.
@ whoarthou1 Yes still here every once in a while:)
@acnescar123 I would say the most improvement from any treatment that I have had was from tca cross. I would say 5% improvement on scars treated maybe. I only had a couple of treatments and perhaps more treatments would have given better results but I gave up on it.
I wanted to add that retin-a is a great product and very effective for many but for me always left my skin looking very dehydrated. I now use the strongest retinol from cosmetic skin solutions and have been pleased with it so far. I think retinol and a effective vit c serum are crucial for skin health. Also of course a physical sunscreen:)
I really like cosmetic skin solutions. From what I understand its basically just like Skinceuticals but at a much more affordable $.
