I'm always amazed how much worse my skin looks when I take photos. I have scars and elarged pores. At my age I would hope there was hope for me. I read of so many promising procedures that all seem to let people down. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what I should do? I really feel bad for my wife.
These photos look much worse in higher resolution. I have acne scars, disoloration, elarge pores (one huge that I just found and I don't know how it got there) as well as some broken blood vessels.

you know what? i honestly dont think it looks bad. sure it's not perfect, but a lot of guys i see have roughened-up skin and it still looks TOTALLY fine. your skin looks good, i dont see any acne or marks. don't sweat it, honestly. trust me.
Thanks. But I see the scars. The bottom photo doesn't show them. They are not many but they are there. I really want to get the indentations fixed and then the overall look of my skin pepaired. Oh, I also should clip my nose hairs. LOL. I thin k I really need sun screen too.
well you have an advantage over me, you're a guy and imperfect skin on guys is generally overlooked and most people don't judge you for it. (unless you have a face full of inflamed, pulsating zits, then that's a different story) i merely see some scarred pores and maybe some light rolling scars but that's pretty much it. if you want to improve it further you could look into dermarolling. i've been doing a bit of research on it and i'm pretty convinced thus far. i don't think you would have anything to lose because your skin already looks pretty tough.
and LOL i didn't notice your nose hairs until you mentioned it hahaha... yeah sunscreen is important regardless of whether you have scars or not. good luck though, and i PROMISE, it really isn't as bad as you think.

I'm sure you know your skin from here on now will loose elasticity and collagen. Look at other mens skin your ageand I bet you won't find much difference.
Thank you. But I hate my skin. Sometimes I am okay with it. But when photos like THIS come out I obsesse about it for the day!

I notice when I use sun screen my skin looks a lot better. Perhaps my thin skin (no pun intended), gets damaged easilty by the sun. I will post some photos of my face after I've used sun screen for a week or two. I bet it looks a lot better.
I really should think about starting dermarolling. I don't know which one to buy. I keep putting it off. Maybe not is the time to start. I really want the indented scars to raise on my face. They drive me crazy!! I also want a more youthful look. My skin is my big hang up as you can tell.

Your skin tone is quite good, and overall looks healthy. I do see your scars though and to me they look like rolling scars. I think you'd be able to obtain some really good results with an "aggressive" treatment plan. With our acne scars we really have to think about multi-modality as just having the one procedure often is not enough.
You mentioned the Dermaroller. I think this is a great place to start and I wouldn't waste any more time! There is no time like the present. The longer you wait the harder it will be to treat. I am having a series of 6 Dermaroller treatments for my rolling scars. I am due to have my 4th treatment on the 14th and am really excited. So far I have seen some incredible improvement in not only my scarring but also my pore size and thickness of my skin. Yes, it's taking time (I wait 7 weeks between treatments) but it is worth it.
Personally, I would not treat myself at home with the Dermaroller. Home-use Dermarollers are only designed for product penetration and not collagen formation (as the needles are not long enough). However, being treated with the original Dermaroller is more expensive. I count myself very lucky that I have a good job that can support my skin obsession. I refuse to use anything but the best on the market.
You have nothing to lose by finding someone who specialises in the Dermaroller in your area. If you wanted to know more about my experiences/products I use then you only have to ask.

I know how you feel. To me your skin is fine but to you it's awful, I'm the same.
A combo series of microdermabrasion and chemical peels might give you enough of an improvement? If they don't work then wait several months and try dermarolling/dermastamping.
I got an exfoliation today. It felt great. I am going to get a microdermabrasion. I know it won't fix the indentations. But it will help my skin look better. Than I am going to either start dermarolling or look into a doctor lifting the indentations. I have enough of being tormented. It's time to fix the problem.

Hehe, no I don't sell them. But I have had three professional treatments and consider it the best decision I've ever made for my skin. I replied to your message though so let me know if I can be of any help as far as choosing a place to get treatments etc. Only drawback is I'm in Australia.
