Thanks acnescar123, so i don't have to be disheartened to see no visible improvement
right after the swelling almost went down (4-5 days after procedure).
I agree acenscar123, for a low risk procedure 20% total is nice and if the two other session
bump it up another 20% that would be 40% total, which, in my opinion would fantastic.
Let's hope it will turn out like that for all of us. For me personally, i even would be happy
about 20% in total. Fraxel and peels did absolutely NOTHING for me, so i would be happy about
any improvment, no matter how small, as long as it is really objectively noticeable and not
a product of my imagination. Good luck on (for?) your next treatments!
Ya even though in theory it's supposed to get better (since you have HA pluming up your scars) and then worse once it goes away after a few weeks (and then slowly better in a few months), I found it had the opposite effect. It stayed the same after the swelling went down and then slowly got better. I would wait a few weeks (probably around 3-4). It's hard to give an improvement % when we're talking numbers like this - but it did have a slight noticeable difference - so I would say 15-20% so far. Thanks, and good luck with your treatments as well if you're going to have more.
I researched it quite a bit before doing it and it seems in line with what people have seen (most people in the study got "2/5" improvement after 3 treatments), I posted some stuff on it here:
I'll try to do a full update once all the sessions are completed.
Thanks for the link, very interesting to read. Did i mention that i had a few trial spots treated
two weeks before my first real treatment? I just didn't want to take any risks, no matter
how safe the procedure is said to be and asked my doctor to treat just a very small part of my face,
just to make sure that my skin reacts without any complications.
So my doctor treated a small area on my left
cheek, right where my severest scarring is. I am not totally sure, but i think my skin reacted exactly
like yours: After 2-3 days of swelling everything looked as scarred as before for the next 10-12 days , and then
after about 12 days i think it got a tiny bit better. But i can't tell fore sure, because, as i said, after 14 days,
i got my first real treatment, so i have no idea what would have happened.
But now i had my first 'real' treatment, so we'll see in 3-4 weeks if airgent works for me.
Last question for now, acnescar: How many shots did you have on your cheeks?
15 -20 like Tehoneandonly or 40-45 (on each side) like me? And btw, my doctor used 'fill level = 7', i haven't
asked her about that yet.
HI theoneandonly, its good that youve seen considerable improvement from this. I too am a sufferer of scars in the temple and cheek region. I am wondering whether you plan to put up any photo to show progress, especially considering you put up photos previously of your scars pre treatment? it would be great to see the results so I know what to expect should i opt for a similar treatment, and in general as im sure you know how hard it is to find genuine before and afters on the internet.
Thanks and happy healing
Hey Khill
To be honest,it is very hard for me to take pictures at the same lighting/ angle to show improvement. But if anyone is in Toronto, they can come and see me (Creepy...)
I will say overall it is a 50% on saucer scars but no improvement on icepicks and those are the only two types of scars I have. Before when I use to look in the car mirror, my scars were very prominent. Now it is still vissible, but muchmore plump and soft.
Also, the company that is made Airgent is upgrading the machine and the older model is now out of business so I don't know if I wll be able to do thistreatment again inthe future
Theoneandonly - 50% improvment for you is fantastic, isn't it? Aren't you happy about that?
As far as i am concerned, it is two weeks after my first treatement and i am pretty sure that the swelling
is completely gone. I do see some improvement, it's quite small, though. I would say 10-15%. Ok, this is
not much, but it is definitely noticeable and not just me imagining things.
And for me, this the first time that something did improve my scars (hopefully it doesn't get worse
in the next few weeks). Everythng else i tried before (Fraxel, chemical peels)
did not improve my scars at all, so i am even happy about minor improvments nowadays. And, as i said, it's only
two weeks after my first treatment, so there is still hope that the final result will be better than 15%.
I probably shouldn't have posted that, because only two weeks after first treatment is not a valid assessment,
who knows what is going to happen in the next 2-3 weeks. Until know, the process was similar to acnescar 123:
3 days after the treatment most of the swelling was gone, the scars looked the same like before the treatment, no visible improvement
at all for about 6-7 days and during the last 4-5 days, the scars improved a bit.
Can we get some updates on this? No Hope & acnescar123 hoq are you guys doing. The scars that reacted to this treatment look good so far but a lot of ice picks need to be treated now,,
hey the oneandonly, i wanted to kno on your progress, i called the clinic and there runnin out of stock on airgent which is getting me worried. how is your progress going? the ice picks u have to treat now did they get worse after air gent? how long does swelling last, i really wanna give this a try just waiting for the perfeect time.
If I had to guess - in total it helped around 20-30%. I expected a little better results (closer to 30-40%) but it helped a bit. Results didn't go down in time. I just don't think it causes enough damage for there to be a lot of improvement (unless you do like 10 procedures maybe).
It's a pretty low risk procedure - you'll just have small bumps with pinpoint bleeding for a week or two. Just imagine a bunch of mosquito bites on your face - other than that I didn't have any pain/side effects etc. Going to go with co2 laser + subcision next most likely.
no_hope u better hurry up because the doc told me that airgent wont be in service in a while. And acnescar you should see results after 6 months. I did airgent and needling to my skin and everything except few icepicks look great!
Why won't it be in service? Are they just temporarily running out of Airgent or are they stopping completely?

Because the original makers are coming out with a new model and are discontinuing creating the formula for the old model

Well to be honest, its not their fault. They just recently purchased the older machine and have yet to pay it off. So the clinic decided hold off getting the new one

i hope some one else in the gta gets wind of the new model so i could go to them. have you thought about tca cross? seems like best solution for ice pick and box scars. only thing is , we would have to travel to montreal because the doc who peforms it in toronto has extremley bad reviews
what scars did u have treated acne scar? how long did the lumps last for?
Mix of box car/ice pick scars. Possibly some small rolling scars in there as well. I already answered this before - they last ~1-2 weeks.

Dr Yat Wing Wong does TCA Cross. She works with Skin Med Laser as well. Now sure how good she is at the procedures though.
Overall IMO I think airgent has promise - but it's not there yet for acne scars. If going through the effort - I think you would be better off doing subcision with either fillers or suction. I think that will give better results with similar amounts of risk (works on the same principle as well)
