Other than my scarring continuing to improve and that I am stoked for my second CROSS treatment being only a week or so away, not really. 🙂 I don't want to spam the thread with insignificant stuff. All I can say at this point is, so far, so good.

happy healing!

Thank you.

Had my second CROSS treatment, today -and I heard the best thing I could have hoped for, from my doctor: "I've never seen so much improvement, after one treatment, before; I'm flabbergasted." 😀 Timehealsall, they were also particularly impressed with the improvement of the pores on my nose (since I know you've been wondering about that).

Here are two pictures to show you guys how quickly the redness and frost goes away, after the CROSS is applied.

Taken right after second CROSS, on my way out of the hospital.

Taken while waiting for my allergist, in his office, approximately 30 minutes later.

As you can see, they go away, rather quickly.

It is now 5 hours after the CROSS and you can't even tell I had one done.

That's what I figured lol.

Absolutely. If you look through this thread, you'll see how much I've sung her graces (Rene/person who performs the CROSS on me).

I've always believed, that if you want the best out of the CROSS treatment, you need to have it done by A. someone else B. someone with a lot of experience with it and C. someone you trust 100%, as far as their technique and pure intentions go.

As far as updates go, I can tell that Rene went more aggressive this time, because the CROSSED areas are still very much "hurt". I'm very excited to see the results/improvement, after this second treatment; especially knowing that she went a little harder, this time around. The scar that has bothered me the most, on the left side of my face, in the center of my cheek, has gone from the diameter of an eraser on a pencil, to the diameter of the tip of a pencil. 😀

I have been following this thread since it was created and I can't express how reassuring it is to read about your success. I have an appointment with Rene tomorrow for TCA CROSS and I couldn't be more stoked. Thank you so much for being so diligent with your updates! I will try and keep you all posted with my experience as well.

And I can't express how comments like these make my day; I continue posting in this thread, in hopes to inspire others who have similar scarring to take the initiative and give CROSS the time of day.

I have an appointment with Rene tomorrow for TCA CROSS and I couldn't be more stoked.

I'm actually stoked for you! I'm a huge fan of hers and you're in good hands (literally). Trust me, she is the Picasso of CROSSING lol. Please, tell her that Massimo says hi, if it's not too much trouble.

Thank you so much for being so diligent with your updates!

Thank you for appreciating the updates and photos I share. 🙂

I will try and keep you all posted with my experience as well.

I'd like that and I'm positive others would, too.

Hope all goes well. Good luck.

I had my appointment Friday afternoon and so far everything seems to be going smoothly. Rene was really kind and quite deft with that giant toothpick! I have sensitive skin and I've had no problems with irritation. The treated areas are starting to form scabs now (Sunday). I have some "before" and "2-days-post-treatment" pictures that I will attach. I am sorry they are such poor quality; you can barely see my icepicks in the "before" pic, but I know even bad photos can be helpful sometimes.

Before: There is a cluster of mild to moderate icepicks in the centre of my cheek. You can just barely see shadows because of the lighting.

After: Same cheek 2 days after CROSS treatment

Everything is looking great, risarella. :)

Your scarring is perfect for TCA CROSS.

Did you give big-toothpick-Rene my regards? :D

No, sorry. I didn't read your post before I saw her. But I told her that I found her through this thread which popped up in a Google search for TCA CROSS and that another patient recommended her, so maybe she'll make the connection. 🙂

Haha, it's alright! I was just following up. 😛

Are you using CICAPLAST for post-CROSS care?

Yes. I actually already had a tube because my friend recommended it for chapped lips. 🙂

Is it normal that some of the scabs are already falling off? They just started forming yesterday and a couple are already gone.

Sam, Risarella

Hope you get good results from TCA cross :)

Thanks you so much for posting your CROSS log. There aren't many well documented (most incomplete) CROSS logs with pics in this forum.

I have been checking this thread everyday. Please keep us updated when you get a chance, with pics if possible.

Hi OS. I'm glad our posts are helping you out. :) And Sam, sorry if I'm hijacking your thread, but I thought it would be best to keep our posts under the same topic since we are both receiving the same treatment from the same person.

So I noticed today that almost all of the scabs on my left cheek have fallen off. This is the cheek with the worst scarring. Some of the pits have raised slightly and most of them are red. My right cheek has a few scarred pores and some very, very tiny, superficial scars, but nothing that really bothers me. If my whole face were like my right cheek, I probably wouldn't have bothered with any scar treatment. Anyways, none of the scabs on my right cheek have fallen off yet, and they don't look like they will anytime soon. It really surprised me today to look in the mirror and see that half of my face is scabby and the other half is not. I think that the scabs on my left cheek are coming off prematurely because I have a habit of sleeping on my left side. I also wiggle around a lot in my sleep and probably rub my cheek against my pillow too much. This is probably the reason why scarring is worse on this side of my face in the first place. I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to protect my face while I'm sleeping, so next time I get a treatment, my scars can heal without so much interference. It would really help me out. Also, I'll post some pictures below. They are of slightly better quality this time.

Massimo, sorry if I'm hijacking your thread

Please, don't apologize; I was hoping you'd keep posting your progress, in here. Especially, since we're both being treated by Rene. Plus, it's a great way to support each-other, while comparing our progress and sharing questions and answers. You're more than welcome to merge your journal, with mine.

Great minds!

Soon as I read the first sentence, I was going to reply that this is because of the side you sleep on and the rubbing against the pillow and whatnot.

There's really not much you can do, besides sleep on your back, the entire time, for as long as it takes for them to fall off - kind of retarded, in my opinion. They will fall off one way or another. Furthermore, many derms who perform the CROSS (including Rene), have said that the duration of the scabs and when they fall off, doesn't change a thing.

My scabs usually start forming within the day, and for the following two days, or so. Then, I begin to notice them falling off. I don't think I've had a scab fall off in the first 24 hours, except maybe a tiny one from a CROSSED pore on my nose, but I wouldn't worry too much about it - it doesn't affect how your skin is going to heal.

Perhaps, it was a tiny one (considering how small the diameter of your scars are, this would be my best guess), or you moistened them a whole lot, or Rene didn't go very deep/hard on that area, or a combination of all three. Ask her the next time you see her, if it will ease your mind; that's what I do.

Other than that, your face looks like it's going through the motions. 🙂

Call me lazy, but this laptop table that I bought from Walmart ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-EZ-Fold-Laptop-Table/16213502 ) for couch surfing really helps 🙂 It is also available from ebay (look for "laptop table"). I guess Walmart buys them in bulk and labels it as their own product.

I sometimes use this for browsing before going to bed and fall asleep with this thing over me, and I've noticed that I don't end up sleeping on my side. You may feel a slight tug, but that happens only when you wiggle around. I don't feel this uncomfortable at all.

UPDATE:

BTW the pic that you see in the link has the legs extended. It actually sits slightly over your torso when the legs are not extended.

Thanks Sam. :) By the way how long exactly did you wait before your second treatment? I'm not from Montreal, but I am thinking of going back at either the beginning of November or December and will probably make an appointment at the same time. I've read that it's better to wait longer between treatments, but I'm still not sure because a lot of the information I read is conflicting.

OS - Haha. That's a good idea! But I probably will still somehow end up with my face squashed against my pillow. I'm quite talented like that.

Hey Sam,

Is the TCA CROSS ok for use with facial hair, like will it kill the hair follicle in the spot that it is applied?

Hi sam and others. I thought I should hop on this thread to let everyone know that, due to fortunate circumstance I was able to see Renee today for a TCA CROSS session on some enlarged pores on my nose. These pits are not visible to most - even Renee wasn't sure that CROSSing was worthwhile- but they have been bugging me for about a year and a half and I had long ago resolved to at least try method once. I requested that she use a 50% concentration seeing as the skin on the nose is notoriously delicate. She obliged and the whole thing took about 5 minutes- so short that she refused to charge me for her services!

Now, I will keep posting on here to let everyone know how things progress. I will reiterate that:

1) My pits are probably only noticeable to me and Renee wasn't positive that it was a productive idea to treat them

2) They are on the nose which has proven on this board to be more resistant to TCA cross treatment.

That being said, the mottled appearance of my nose has caused me real discomfort and if this treatment goes anyway towards improving my perception of things, I would like to spread that hope to everyone else on the board. Fingers CROSSed.
