Thanks Kooky, I am excited totally. I plan on bringing my laptop for entertainment while I recover. How long are you staying total? I am sure I will be raw after I am back home. Does anyone think I would be infecting myself in a plane after only 3 1/2 days? I just thought it was better for me to only stay the minimum b/c money will be spent alot this coming week.
Hope you like your results Kooky, happy healing.
Thanks Craig~o. I think 7-10 days after the procedure you can start shaving again, or when you've stopped shedding and you have new pink skin. The bandages came off today, thank god...it was terribly difficult to eat with them on, I had mostly liquid meals through a straw. It's a bit horrific looking at my face in the mirror right now, it looks like a damn crime scene...somebody call CSI New Orleans! (coming to a television set near you).
Hey Miss Shady--glad you are feeling better about the whole thing--just a good healthy dose of nerves. I really look forward to your updates once you have the dermabrasion!
Hey Poe! Thanks for the nice compliment--I really enjoy your posts too. And from your pics, your skin looks beautiful!
HI John Sydney! I'm so glad to hear you are feeling the same way. I forgot that you had such success with the dermablend. I think you're right that if you get the right color and practice the application, you can apply it a very discreet way.
Kooky--best of luck to you down there--it's all uphill from here on out--and I bet you're shocked by how fast your skin heals.
And Craig---you're next...

Hi All,
I'm having a full face dermabrasion with Dr.Yaborough on Nov 8th.
Let me know if any of you'll have questions for Dr.Yaborough.
I'm taking 14 days off work.
Do you'll know of any good makeup for a guy?
I think the redness will be there for three to eight weeks.
I'm driving from MN.
Hey Morris,
Did you find a good rate on your hotel? I'm scheduled for Dec. 28th...I'm having a hard time finding a room for a good rate because I'm staying over New Year's Eve. Holiday prices are about double the standard rate. Anyway, input from anyone would be appreciated.
Hello everyone.
My dermabrasion is also next week. I am staying at the Clarion. And for those who may feel the hotels are pricey... The clarion was over $150 when I first looked for rooms but it went down to $86.34 a night as the date got closer (www.Expedia.com) so do not dispare.
Good wishes to you Morris. It is so awesome that people finally found a doctor who knows a thing or too.
Hi,
It's day 6 since my dermabrasion. For those who had dermabrasion, how long does the vaseline phase last? And did you just switch to a moisteurizer after that? It's a minor inconvenience but I can't wait to go to bed without this stuff on.
Well, I can see some of my scars reappearing already but I sort of expected that. Some of my scars were fairly deep, but I do see a lot of improvement. I sort of figured I may have needed some punch floats or punch excisions but went ahead with the dermabrasion anyways, just a timing issue thing for me. (Note that I saw Dr. Y in person and he said I would not need any punch floats).
I'm taking day to day photos and hopefully will have a photojournal up in a couple of weeks. I had 5 days of hyperbaric oxygen, but I think it might have only helped a little with healing. I think the medrol and Vigilon dressing is fine for alleviating swelling and reducing healing time. I don't think it's worth the money for anyone thinking about doing it! (the oxygen therapy I mean, not dermabrasion)
I'll be back,
in a while crocodile,
Dan
Hey Morris, congrats....I had 11-8 reserved but had to back out. You prolly got my slot? I hope things went ok for you. Are you doing this alone?
I can't give you many tips on driving, but wear a hat...and maybe think about those roll down sun screen things that you can find in the automotive dept of places like w-mart/target. They stick on with suction cups. Sometimes they have them in the baby dept too. Sun protection would be what I would be most concerned about on your healing skin. It could make for some interesting stops at the rest stops or drive through windows too
Are you going to make it back in time for the next Gopher game?
Hi Moonsoon,
I am also Chinese and will have dermabrasion done by Dr. Y in February. I have experienced prolonged blotchiness from IPL and smooth beam, so I feel your pain.
I am bracing myself for 8 - 10 weeks of redness. I hope the Tri Luma cream helps you clear up real soon.
Regards,
10 Weeks Update.
I still have alot of blotchiness all over my face. There is one BIG patch of brown area on one side of my face. I'm currently using Tri Luma to fix that. There is also this line. It's redder than all other part of the face. It's so noticable. Time like this, I dont know if the result justify the money and complication arise from this procedure.
P.S: I will express my concerns Dr. Y when I give him my picture.
Tri-Luma is not for red marks. It's for brown marks known as Melasma. You can tell if you have Melasma if the brown marks resemble a "shadow." The main ingredient in Tri-Luma is hydroquinone, which bleaches the skin. It should not be applied to the entire face, but only those areas which are dark.

Craig,
Today is day two after my procedure.
I drove back to my hotel by myself after the procedure.
It will be a long drive to MN with Vaseline dripping all over the neck.
I'm feeling fine. I'll be in MN by friday in time for the Vikings and Gopher games.
