I have done a ton of researching the past few days, but I cannot seem to find a reasonable answer to my question.

How the heck are you supposed to numb if you're in the US???

Lidocaine (EMLA) is prescription only, and I'm not willing to get it shipped internationally (I'm a goody two shoes, whatever).

I also don't really want to use ice, because I feel it won't be effective enough.

What do you all do? I could go to my derm and ask for a prescription, but I feel like he won't do that because 1) he'll want me to pay him for treatments and 2) I am inflicting my own pain so why the heck should he prescribe something to help.

Thanks in advance.

hi guys, i would really appreciate your opinion about my dermaroller procedures.

i've already had 2 treatments with 1.5mm done by my dermatologist - in november and january... everthing went great, i really saw improvement - my cheeks were smoother, some of my scars almost completely disappeared and i couldn't be more happy...

BUT now after my 3rd treatment last week obivously something went wrong. this time she roller with 2.0mm and everything seemed ok until my redness went away and i noticed that my scars actually got worse as they've been before i started the treatment. where the skin was smooth before, the old scars reappeared again and they look more deep as they've ever been.

do you have any idea how is this possible? is it because of 2.0mm and the bigger injury to the skin? has anyone else experienced something like that? i tried to ask my doctor but she is on holidays now-

Does anyone know if Derma Roll + Retin-a will help reduce or even get rid of shallow boxcar scars like mine? Here are the photos of my scars and my profile.

Thanks,

Hey guys,

May I ask if some of you have formulated an opinion on which is more preferrable:

1.5mm 192 needles, or a 1.5mm 540 needles roller?

Do you think there is any correlation between how many hours you sleep per night and the overall success of the treatment?

I read everywhere how collagen is renewed when we are sleeping and that "beauty sleep" (8 hours per day) is very important... But i usually sleep only 4-6 hours and it's enough for me. I can see some progress now that my 3 treatments are over but i wonder if it could be even better if had better sleeping habits.

1.5mm with 192 needles DEFINITELY. Think of it like those people who lay on beds of nails. There are often so many nails in every little spot that it actually provides a kind of wall and doesn't pierce their skin because there are so many points that it actually forms a surface.

Lesser amount of needles means it is going to insert into the skin nicely and as it should.

More does not equal better. 🙂

Thank you remy that is a good point :) I will get the owndoc 1.5 mm roller after reading [removed]

It is now the topicals which is giving me the most confusion.

There's a BIG difference between vegan & vegetarian....a vegan doesn't eat dairy/ eggs/ meat/ fish....vegetarians eat eggs/ dairy and some even eat fish too...and Gillian Mckeith is a VEGETARIAN not a vegan....she also looks underweight...

However, Annette Larkin is a VEGAN & so too Mimi Kirk....but they also eat very healthy, mostly raw vegan, unprocessed organic superfoods...this is the most important thing about their diets - they don't eat junk/ GMO etc!...they also are not underweight & don't over exercise....

Re Nigella, yes she is beautiful and youthful looking but also very plump which hides wrinkles...so how will her heart, health & looks hold-up long-term with all those unhealthy fats/ processed meats/ toxic dairy etc in her diet?? (Hint: Take a look at Annette Larkin's 70 year old meat-eating husband for the answer!).

And yes, women as they age should not over exercise or be super skinny, they need a little extra weight... neither being overweight/ obese nor underweight is healthy.

PS I used to eat meat/ dairy/ eggs...that's what gave me my bad complexion in the first place!!!...and it was my pure, organic, mostly raw unprocessed vegan diet that finally got me acne free!!! smile.png Tea tree oil/ sea-salt/ lavender oil were also key to ending the acne infection cycle...

Okay, this is running a bit off topic...but I'll take a stab. I'm not personally against a vegan diet in any way - actually, they might be healthier. But they do have to be done properly - in 2010, Angelina Jolie said a vegan diet "nearly killed her" because she wasn't getting enough nutrition. Raw vegan diets do pose some potential health risks. What I take issue with is saying that simply because someone is a vegan, they're going to have better skin/age better. There are many factors in aging/skin wrinkling/health - one of the biggest being, of course, genetics.

You say:

"Evidently, veganism, when done correctly, helps one aesthetically, physically & mentally"

But that's not always true! Correlation doesn't prove causation - for example, vegans might exercise more on average. Ultimately though, you can see this isn't always the case through a simple fact: there are some vegans who look older than they are, and some non-vegans who look much younger than they are.

For example, Japan's Masako Mizutani has recently become popular on the internet for "not aging," yet she says she consumes meat and milk (but still eats a healthy diet).

Nigella was a coincidental example of a non-vegan who has aged well. I know you said this is due to her being "plump" (fat isn't a bad word by the way), but being fat isn't something you can use to gauge someone's health. Nigella said:

"I think eating proper food is very important. I dont like this habit of demonising some foodstuffs and venerating others, but I do think on the whole that your skin and your body and your mind are happier with real food and not processed bits of cardboard."

And I couldn't agree more.

But to bring this back on topic regarding Dr. Desmond Fernandes: don't be so quick to buy it. That image is heavily photoshopped - not that he couldn't look young for his age, but it is grossly over-exaggerated.

Well, maybe if she had stayed vegan she wouldn't have made the awful decision to take off her breasts!! See www.thewellnesswarrior.com.au ....Really, I have no respect for Angelina Jolie or what she thinks or stands for (but I will pray for her soul)...basically, she's a major dummy and dupe for the scamming cancer industry (see http://www.naturalnews.com/040365_Angelina_Jolie_gene_patents_Supreme_Court_decision.html & http://www.naturalnews.com/040349_Angelina_Jolie_breast_cancer_surgery.html & http://www.naturalnews.com/041024_mammogram_parties_medical_date_rape_crimes_against_women.html )....i.e. her double mastectomy is the most inane & irresponsible thing she could have done - if in fact, she really went through with it - from an individual perspective & as a person of influence...i.e. should a man now chop of his nether region if he has a family history of testicular cancer? And should a person now have a 'preventative' lobotomy if they have a family history of brain tumours???? Yes, 'Stupid is as stupid does!!!')

As for Nigella, I agree, she is very beautiful, but she is overweight, and that's not healthy...i.e. gluttony is immoral and a prime cause of bad health...

And the healthiest diet is indeed a nutritious, organic, unprocessed, mostly raw, wholefood vegan diet...that's why many in Hollywood & the richest people in the world are converting to it - for longevity & health benefits...it's also the most compassionate & moral diet and that is why the most ethical & intelligent individuals embrace it [i.e. many vegans tend to have high IQs and many Holy Sages are/ were vegan].....YES, THE FUTURE IS VEGAN! smile.png

PS Eating toxic meat/ toxic dairy causes disease/ cancer/ ill-health etc http://veganismisthefuture.com/category/diet/

PPPS I am a vegan for ethical/ compassionate reasons alone, I love animals and believe they have a right to live free from human harm/ exploitation....the fact that being vegan is a very healthy way to live is a mere bonus 🙂

Angelina Jolie is a prime example of the rise of preventative medicine. Her genes showed she had a faulty BCRA gene - which is extremely rare and makes her chances of breast cancer skyrocket. It's her personal choice, too.

Regarding Nigella, WOW - why are you judging someone as "gluttonous"? She's said "everything in moderation" and tries to eat healthy. It is incredibly offensive if you think that all overweight people are that way because they are "gluttonous." Actually, studies show people who are slightly overweight live longer on average.

I also don't like the implication that the smartest people are vegans, so they're more intelligent? Apparently, the "major dummy" Angelina Jolie tried to be vegan. There are so many non-vegan intelligent people that I won't even try to list them.

PPPPS Genetics are not an important variable determining health/ longevity ...environmental factors such as lifestyle & diet are far more important...

Yes, they are according to the National Institute on Aging. Please cite a legitimate source.

Don't be delusional - humans are natural omnivores. Our jaws show it, our teeth show it, our intestines show it.

This is a forum for scar treatment and, personally, I'm a bit tired of the "natural" cures that do nothing for your skin. Scar treatment is no joke. If there was picture proof of serious improvement, I would be much more believing and accepting - but there isn't, so it may as well be snake oil. It's a waste of time and money most of the time.

The whole cancer industry is a money making scam...AND NO, your genes WON'T give you cancer because cancer is caused by FUNGUS/MOLD!!! Research Dr Simoncini....That's why you need to stay away from a yeast promoting diet i.e. stay away from processed sugar and eat an alkaline/ vegan diet!!!! SIMPLE!!!! That's why people in non-western societies don't have cancer, they don't eat crap like western nations & don't drink toxic soda/ toxic tap water!!!

And yes, Nigella, is overweight & promotes gluttony & the unethical cruel meat & dairy industries... I have no respect for either Nigella or Angelina Jolie....they are both silly dingbats/ corporate slaves that regurgitate drivel so unwitting, naive people like YOU can worship them and their life damaging lies.....that's why the idiot big media promotes them...to hurt other women (i..e. to maim themselves & take big pharma toxic crap/ toxic vaccines/ toxic dairy/ toxic meat and chemo that kills (not heals) so they can depopulate the earth)!!! WAKE-UP JFILIGREE!!!!

And Panos is correct!!! Carnivores don't need to cook their prey, they can catch them & rip them apart with their claws & teeth and eat them raw!!! In contrast, humans need to use tools to catch prey, cook it - to make it palatable & digestible... also humans have very long intestines like other herbivores so they can process plant matter effectively...carnivores, on the other hand, have very short intestines to process meat fast and expel it fast (otherwise it rots in their intestines), AND THAT IS WHY MEAT CAUSES CANCER IN HUMANS!!! IT STAYS TOO LONG IN THEIR DIGESTIVE TRACT WHERE IT ROTS AND CAUSES DISEASE/ FUNGUS BUILD-UP/ ACIDOSIS = CANCER/ ILLNESS....

Also, humans have teeth ideal for grinding, not long, dagger like incisors of true carnivores that can rip apart prey with their own mouth (E.G. CAN YOU BITE INTO A LIVE CHICKEN, FISH, COW ETC AND EAT THEM RAW (AND NOT GET SICK IN THE PROCESS OR CHOKE ON THE FEATHERS/ SCALES/ CONTAMINATED RAW BLOOD/HIDE/ DIRT)???) ....you clearly aren't knowledgeable in human biology....

BTW, if you care to do a little research, you'll see studies showing that the longest living people on earth are non-meat eaters....

  • Serena & Venus Williams
  • Russell Brand
  • Darryl Hannah
  • Petra Nemcova
  • Brad Pitt
  • Prince

  • Mike Tyson
  • Carrie Underwood
  • Steve Wynn
  • Liv Tyler
  • Shania Twain
  • Leo Tolstoy

Evidently, veganism, when done correctly, helps one aesthetically, physically & mentally...it's also a moral way to live...

I don™t like this habit of demonising some foodstuffs and venerating others, but I do think on the whole that your skin and your body and your mind are happier with real food and not processed bits of cardboard."

PPS Chemo is a fraud http://veganismisthefuture.com/chemofraud/

PPPS I am a vegan for ethical/ compassionate reasons alone, I love animals and believe they have a right to live free from human harm/ exploitation....the fact that being vegan is a very healthy way to live is a mere bonus smile.png

Lol. Angelina Jolie amputates womens breasts. No wonder why she said something like that.

If you see yourself like a human being, you will understand that you are not made to hunt,Its not your nature in the first place to hunt, kill

animals and eat them. You can use your hand and live only on fruits as many have and made it to more than 100 years.
