How long did it take to see results, and did it get rid of them completely?

i saw results in the first two weeks. My acne has got really bad to teh point were every one i knew was telling me how bad it got! like i couldnt see it for my self!

the fullers earth helps calm down the oil and made my skin feel so soft. it took a few weeks to see good results and its all natural so there is no harm in trying, its a old face mask used in india.

and you can use haldi in it to which helps calm teh redness and scaring.

I'll use ACV and try to take it off tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

But you've been using this successfully already anyway, haven't you?

I was not able to try it last night, because i got my wisdom teeth out yesterday and was not up to putting it on last night. Instead I slept with an ice pack up to my mouth. I am feeling much better today and will do it tonight.

It never fully came off my face with the cleanser. It just never bothered me. So i will let you know how the ACV goes since i usually just drink it. not apply it topically.

So.. it's been a while since I've washed this off and my face is YELLOW. I haven't tried with the baking soda yet but I used jojoba oil and scrub to get it off, which didn't work. I'm not too worried but I hope this will fade away by tomorrow. I'm afraid to leave it on my face all night again unless I find a good way to get rid of the stain off my face. Other than the stain this mask is awesome, my face is smooth and I had one active pimple which just vanished after using the mask. I'll keep using it for a week and take it from there.

hodget17, I got some on my hair (black) when I was applying it last night and, other than my face, my hair is free from stain.

Found something interesting

Non-staining Tetrahydrocurcumin

This white powder is a novel extract of curcumin, retaining the extremely powerful antioxidant profile of curcumin without the characteristic yellow staining pigment. It is a pure concentrated extract--it is much more alcohol soluble than water soluble. It is sold in 10 gram bags of pure extract--no fillers, or binders, and a low packaging cost. This is the equivalent of 200 capsules of 50 mg each. This is one of the most potent active chemicals found in turmeric, but is not yellow and staining as turmeric is.

would this work as well?

I'm glad I'm not the only person...I was wondering if Jojba Oil would work, now I know...thanks. I really want to be able to use it too, it makes my skin so nice.

Hmm...if I'm not mistaken, isn't slight staining what takes part in the 'healing' and covering it up? It sounds like that's what the original poster was saying, unless I was mistaken.

Ok, I eventually had to use baking soda to get it off. I'll try to buy emu oil or maybe try potato peels but for now I'll use baking soda. I've used it before everyday and it helped my skin rather than worsening it. I dropped St. Ives and AHA lotion for this week just to reduce irritation. I'll update back in a week or less.

Another option for those who are interested. I've used some of these products on and off. They're ayurvedic which is India's ancient form of medicine and they're all natural. Here's the link to the website

http://www.kamaayurveda.com/home.htm

I bought mine in India, you can't order from that site but it has links to places and sites you can get their products from in your area.

The face cleanser contains turmeric and it doesn't stain the skin. It's more like a scrub so I don't use it every day but it's really nice and makes my skin soft and fades red marks. The mask for acne prone skin is fairly strong so I haven't used it that often. I've recently started using these products again as I have some I brought back from India with me, unfortunately they expire soon. They haven't caused me to break out. I'm not sure why I stopped using them. I'm always changing what I'm using. I can't say if they'll clear severe acne or give you perfect skin but they can help and they're great if you're looking for a natural solution. I am still using Dan's AHA, moisturizer and BP but I found his face wash made me break out so that's why I went back to natural things (I wash with sour cream now and sometimes add these products to it). My skin is really clearing up now and the red marks are fading so fast.

The face cleanser also contains gram flour, oatmeal, neem, sandlewood, fenugreek, turmeric, and some other herbs I can't remember.

Turmeric works! Because I am also from India and learned about it from everywhere and from older generation. Turmeric roots is same like "Ginger root" sold in grocery store. Only difference is turmeric roots are mustard yellow colour. Shred this roots into very tiny to make it in a pste form or squeeze juice from it and apply it on face at night wash it off in the morning with Moongdal flour(green beans flour). Again one can get this fron Indian grocery store.

New generation in India are not using it or not prescribing to other because of its yellow stains on clothes, face skin and hands. In olden times women were at home so no need to worry about stain or colour. But now time is different. Every morning office and always in rush.

Lets get to the roots!

Thanks

Hey guys.

I'm curious how you've been mixing the stuff and how much to use?

My first attempt was today and I put a half of spoon in a cup with water and mixed. Not for my entire face, just as a spot treatment.

It's "ground tumreric", got it six bucks for an ounce at jewel.

Any thoughts?

[EDIT]

Also, took a spoonful shot, tastes interesting.

I was looking for it but I didn't see any. I got like this little bottle (or whatever it is, it's less than an oz.) for $3...kind of expensive... My mom is going to an Asian market on Saturday so I'm gonna tag along and see if I can find any. I'm just gonna do my chin first and see how yellow it gets.

So here I sit, with bright yellow staining my face and probably my innards. Give me ACV any day over the taste of turmeric. In the meantime I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Probably about a teaspoon in water that night and again today. It really is hard to swallow (pun intended).

My face was so stained that I had to use baking soda the next day to get it off--I didn't really see results but again, I suppose nothing is going to be a miracle the first time. I'm thinking about trying again today.

Wow, I didn't know that other people used Turmeric too. I used to drink add a little bit of water and a teaspoon of turmeric powder and chug it down. Its an awful taste. I drank it for my health but didn't know it could benefit my skin! Maybe I should start again.

So how do you make the paste again?

Does anyone know if it's bad to take it when you're on Accutane?

I tried this for 3 nights, not sure if I saw much improvement, but I stopped because it was a pain in the ass to get off without irritating my skin and thus making it worse, but I might try it in the easter holiday when I will be at home most of the time.

Agreed that this stuff is a pain to get off. I tested this stuff on redmarks I have on my foot, so yeah. Foot is still slightly yellow from my the last application which was two days ago.

Going to get some turmeric pills from the gnc. Skin should be safe from the yellow this way. Not sure about the inside of my stomach though.

Hi,

I‚„ve been applying turmeric topically for 2weeks now and WOW! I‚„m already seeing a big improvement.

In the past I‚„ve tried microdermabrasion, glycolic peels, vit C peels...but none worked. After using this for two weeks my newer (less than a year old) red marks have faded by about 50%, my older (between 1-5years old) red marks have faded by about 20%.

After cleansing I mix about 10g of turmeric with enough water to make a slightly runny paste. I apply this to my clean skin for 15-30minutes. I then wash off with water and soap (Dove soap), and use a toner (Clean+Clear) to remove the excess yellowness. I then apply my night cream, bee propolis cream, to my slightly yellow skin, by the morning the yellowness is generally gone.

Thank you sooo much to the original poster, Im more hopeful than I‚„ve been in years....

I purchased turmeric root. I tried to apply it yesterday, but I'm having trouble getting out the 'juice'. I'm hoping to mix it up with either yogurt or pure aloe vera. Helios, I know you mentioned you use the root. Any recommendations for liquifying the root effectively?
