lemarr has you spontanoues scaring stoped yet ? how did you manage to stop it as i think i might have this same problem
also in a previous post you wrote something about the blackheads you get near your hair line where the led light does not get to. does this mean leds work for blackheads/clogged pores. ive done some reading on leds and on a few sites it says that it can help shrink large pores ... in your expereicene, has this happened ?
I had this occur from being to rough with sensitive skin after after using a product that had arbutin in it (which converts to HQ)
Stay away from those, as they break down collagen and elastin...and I think also chelate or remove copper from tissues...they gave me spontaneous scarring for months after...very upsetting
lamarr, what can you attribute to your spontaneous scarring? any new internal or topicals perhaps?
LamarrI just bought IBULEVE 5% ibuprofen gel. Is this the sames stuff you use for any inflammatory skin lesions? There seem to be lots of different types of ibuprofen gel. IBULEVE comes in 5 and 10% strengths...
cheers!
Sorry i missed this, yeah i use the ibuleve 5%. Is it helping you yet?

Well my spontaneous scarring has stopped yes. It was a result of accutane altering my body in many different ways. I beleive it was due to the inflammatory auto immune reactions it can trigger within the cappilaries.
ANyway i have some theories on the spontaneous scarring and i believe it to be connected with retinoids and omega 3's so if you are using anything with vitamin A in or omegas i would stop those. I believe an anti histamine helped me quite a bit. So i always recommend trying this.
Just basically stop anything that is irritating your skin. It will eventually pass....
As for the pores, yes the light therapy tightens them up quite a bit. Black heads will purge if you use the blue/red combo used for acne.

Accutane is the culprit but i think the way my body processes things has been altered because of the accutane. Any significant amounts of vitamin A or omega 3 and i have all sorts of wierd things happen...
same with me in terms of omega 3's (or it might be vitamin A, because I had issues only on cod liver oil, not regular fish oil)...i get weird acne and some hairloss from it...
since you are sensitive to omega3s and vitamin A, def stay away from cod liver oil
I did accutane back when I was 17 (8 years ago)..it left scarring, but then my skin recovered its ability to not scar as easy, then the HQ started it up again
For me it takes like 2-3 months for the skin to get normal again, but you have to take extra care of it during that time...I find that extra water helps

Funny you should mention the cod liver oil.... My WORST bowt of this spontaneous scarring was shortly after my tane course when i was taking some cheap cod liver oil....
There is a relationship between the omegas, vitamin A and vitamin D so i have to be carefull with these...
Sorry i missed this, yeah i use the ibuleve 5%. Is it helping you yet?Hey, well I am not sure. It seems to dry out the lesion. I will see how it works on redness. I haven' had any adverse effects so I suppose it will work ok. I may actually try the 10% that Ibuleve has, that may be more effective on inflamed lesions...
Thanks!
Are you applying it across your entire cheek area? it will work as a preventative measure if you apply it across your problems areas every day!
Lamarr, do you have any sort of negative reaction with Vitamin D in terms of scarring?
Because its winter here now and there is a lack of sunlight, I take a few thousand IUs of Vitamin D a day (which is not even close to how much I get in summer)...I take this because I also take extra chelated calcium and magnesium daily...plus I notice benefits for my joints (I weight lift 4 days a week) as well with the Vitamin D
I know A and D are closely linked regarding ratios and being found in nature together...I get alot of A from beta carotene found in colored veggies (organic carrots etc)...this form of A doesnt seem to cause any negative reaction whatsoever...just wondering if supplementing with Vit D would also require more Vit A intake
On aside, cod liver oil would give me a random nose bleed here and there...possibly because blood thinning from O3's, or maybe more so the Vit A...not sure
As i promised.... If you look where the saucer shape scar is you will see i have recently needled it, so ignor that.
Compare this to my earlier photo which i uploaded....
This is after two sessions without the LEDs etc
This is after about 4 dermaroller sessions or so and several needling sessions with the LEDs
As you can see, in the HARSHEST lighting, i still have some slight slight indents, i will get rid of this however. In nearly all lighting conditions i appear scar free.
Lamarr, i'm having dermaroller with dr chu every 3 months and using terproline twice a day. Do you think this is enough to get a good result for rolling scars or would i have to do the whole routine with the LEDs and everything you mentioned to get a noticeable result? thanks darling
Chances are you will get some OKAY results without the LEDs but i really do believe they greatly enhance results. I am talking 50% improvement over not using them....
Why not see how you go without the LEDs then add them later on? If you are getting the treatment done on the NHS and you aren't in a rush, then no harm doing things this way!! you will also know just how much the LEDs help if you do things that way.
Have a few sessions without them, then add them if you aren;t getting the results you want!!
P.s. Yeah im in dire need of a haircut lol.
I too like lamarr have had great success with this method. I seldon ever post because I am a bit shy but most of all real busy. I work at a doctors office and of course I do lasers, so trust me I have tried it all and skin care has been a passion of mine since I was little. Having acne and then later resulting in scars made my thurst for knowledge even that much greater. Well to shorten my 8 year journey I've been dermarolling and needling for close to a year and as of 3 months ago I added the red/infrared and only as of 3 weeks added the amber light, which I agree with Lamarr is a must. My experience comes with lot of highs and lows. When I say that meaning sometimes you think your scars are really improving but to find out weeks later its still micro swelling! This has been my second longest break from rolling at two months and the results have been great. Trust me it takes time but the leds have sped up the progress I can def tell a difference since adding them. I take about 2-3 grams of vitamin c a day and I use minimal products if any, I like 302 products they dont seem to aggraviate my acne so much but I know the sole thing to my scar revision is the dermarolling and now led. Ive studied this for a long time now and done alot of research and trust me Lamarr is dead on! So please take notes to his posts this is the only thing that has gotten me this much improvement. I call this spring my liberation from scars season because I hope to be at 90% improvement its kindof hard to put a percentage on scar improvements as you all know. If I would have been doing the leds the whole time I honestly think by now I would have already been there. There is about 5 scars that need to needled more, that were a little deeper that I will work on in a couple of days, and thats it, and they're not even that deep compared to two cheeks filled with mostly moderate boxcar type scarring. Im just overjoyed and I know you guys will be too if you just stick with it. In the spring of the year Im going to present to the doctor my technique in hopes of helping so many people who come in with scarring looking for lasers as an answer Iam so honest with them up front on what they can and can not do reguarding scarring and lasers and the doctor respects that thankfully! Im not computer savy at all I dont even know how to post pics but come spring I might get the nerve up and have someone help me post some. My true before pics when my scars were at their worse are at a laser clinic in the mall I might see if they will let me have them in a couple of months if not the ones I have about 6 -8 months ago will have to do. There is hope guys I have cried so many nights looking for an answer and I finally feel like I am getting me back. Skin and looks are my career so this is such a confidence booster and a blessing Good luck stay focused and dont Give Up!!!!!!!

im really happy for you erynn ! roughly how many dermaroller sessions have you had ? and how much has you skin improved % wise
At first I was doing them every 2 weeks I did about 6 and then I took a 2-3 month break those were without the leds. Then I resumed back with the leds I would say roughly about 4 more times about 4-6 weeks apart and alot more aggressive! Percentage wise I would say roughly about 80% better.
Congrats on your sucess!!!!! It is sooo great that we are finally getting relief from this and that we our able to do it ourselves and not be at the mercy of Docs that might not hold our best interest first, but their own financial gain is all the better!!!
What size dermaroller did you use? And how many times a week did you use the lights and how many minutes under the lights each time.
Amy
thanks for the reply erynn ... also did you use terproline ?
