I was watching the Maury show once and a woman had silicone injected to her lips or face; can't remember. Anyway, her face later became ruined because of it and eventually died even though she was on his show. Collagen sounds best considering it's natural.
This is with full fledged silicone injection, most commonly applied to AIDS patients.
I have read about AIDS patients being injected with pure silicone with micro injections to counter lypoatrophy of the face but I have not heard of ANY of them having "ruined faces" or dying from the procedure. It sounds like massive injections with tainted product.
In other words, what does this have to do with the topic at hand?

Another treatment Im working with to get rid of my redness and larger pores is Apple Cider Vinegar and Vitamin C tablets. Its broken me out just a little bit but its really shrunken my pores quite a bit and has firmed the skin.
If anyone has any questions just ask away. Anyone made any appointments yet? I go in on the 15th so if anyone wants to meet up I'll be more then happy to do so.
Hi all,not sure if this has been answered....does laser such as fraxel re:store or co2 affect the silicone?Could I have the injections +laser??Appreciate for any input, thanks.
No, it does not...I had many rounds of silicone before having 5 rounds of Fraxel and no bad side effects.
Props to you, drewboy, for sharing your success story with others! I had silicone 1000 microdroplet technique done a couple years ago. I got it done because I wanted a permanent solution for plumping my lips and correcting the slight asymmetry I had in my lower lip. A couple rounds and two years later, I couldn't be happier. People need to understand that the horror stories they read about silicone is totally unrelated to the type of silicone we're talking about here. This particluar medical/cosmetic grade silicone has been used for decades in eye surgery. I did a ton of research before taking the plunge. Results are very injector dependant (as it is for temporary fillers...or any filler, for that matter)- I can't stress enough that you must find a very skilled doctor, one with alot of experience. Months ago, I had some Kenalog (steroid) injected (by a different doc) into an area of my face to bring down some swelling I had. I had reservations about getting kenalog because I read that it CAN cause atrophy in some people. Well, I am one of those people and as a result, I have about a dime sized depression under my right cheekbone. I am scheduled to go back to my silicone doc and have the area injected with silicone 1000. He said that he can definitely plump at that area.....back to where it was before. So I am not at all surprised that it can be used to treat acne scarring .
Good luck to all of you!
drewboy,
how soon do you think i could get silicone inj. after dermabrasion. had my dermabrasion on may 12th by dr. y. he got rid some some scars and gave me some new ones. i had a silly idea that the dermabrasion would be my last intent in getting rid of my scars to the point where i would be happy. but it just didn't work out that way.
how long did you notice your skin remolding after your dermabrasion? i keep hoping this one box scar will plump back up but it's most likely not going to. i'm applying a really good vitamin c serum that i hope will help a little. any suggestions or is it just a waiting period?
any of your info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thnx in advance

Drewboy: Thanks for the offer. I will keep it in mind, but if I go I would try to fly in and out. It would be nice to meet though.
Pakifairy: thanks for link. I am not sure what to make of it. I several reactions: Good comparisons, some patients have pretty severe scarring, the last male seemed to have the most improvement. He had some sharp ice picks and box scars which turned into rolling scars. In fact, I wonder if he might have had a couple excisions also. I could be way wrong, but the photos show less improvement than I expected, but seemed to help sharp scars more than I thought possible. I thought it was supposed to be best for shallow rolling scars.

Thanks drewboy 😉 ! I do have a few small icepick scars I'm planning on asking my doc about. I bought a Dermaroller a few days ago for better topical product absorption....and I was thinking about trying it on my scars as well. But because of your post, I figure I'd have him treat the icepicks since he'll be doing my kenalog dent anyway. Thank you!
