can any1 explain to me in basic terms how this procedure is done ? does the scar tissue have to be complety removed first .... wouldnt this just leave another scar ?
The point of this procedure is to induce a scarless healing process after removal of previous scar tissue.
Just Wondering what would happen if you didn't fully manage to remove the scar like say you only managed to remove 80% of the scar and have a bit remaining then how would the scar heal?
I think it's great what acell is doing hopefully they will have it in topical form in a few years also check this out http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahshow/200...z-live-longer/5 it's about how pure oxygen increase stem cells. imagine doing a fraxel repair or something invasive then using acell product to heal then to top it off with having pure oxygen intake to promote more healing.

good question, I don't know.
is this Acell stuff avaible to buy ? has any1 treid and had sucess with this stuff.
what about large/ scared pores ?
there has been success but not with scar revision. If you want to try it out why don't you talk with your doctor. it could work on your pores. give it a shot.

if you dig through this thread, there was somebody who reported contacting manning from acell and getting news about a successful scar revision. I don't remember the details or if it was a hypertrophic acne scar on the face or what.. but it's here.

really thats good news.
by scar revision you mean just improving a scar right ? and not actually getting rid of it - scarless healing ?
so has this stuff been used for scars but without 100% removal of the scar
Basically, everything seems to be theoretical as acell has not provided the public with enough conclusive evidence of it's effectiveness. In theory, the acell matristem product will allow the body to heal wounds without any scarring. Instead of inducing scar tissue production, the matristem will activate stem cells to differentiate in to the appropriate cell types and heal wounds with no scars or marks. However, the practice of this theory maybe more difficult to achieve as seen with the guy who removed part of his scalp. Creating to right environment for the body cells might be the difficult part.

I hope it would work for large pores. I have a lot of rolling scars along my jawline and some hyperpigmetation on my cheeks that I would like to get rid of. And maybe perhaps make my nose a little Splotchy. I wonder what needs to be done for this type of scar removal. Maybe. Microdermabrasion!! Scary!! And how would the wound remain moist and not form scar tissue..... Imagine if this actually works!? I would be the happiest ( but also maybe the poorest) person I'm the world. Imagine having clear smooth skin!! And if you get a bad break out, all you have to do is do it again!
I don't like getting my hopes up but it also feels nice to have something to look forward too!
Ok, so I digged up the post I was talking about, about scar revision. It was from October of last year. Here it is:
Just got off the phone with Mike Manning from Acell. All the things I hear about him being a great guy are true. I really can't believe he actually picked up haha.
Anyways, I have news...
They HAVE treated a scar. It is currently their only scar revision trial. It was a 5-10 mm scar that went under 2 prior revisions before Acell which failed. The scar was cut out, Acell was put in the wound and sutured up. The patient also applied a bit to the suture as it healed. He [Manning] said he would have preferred the sheets be incorporated into the suture, but the scar is progressing wonderfully and the patient is estatic. He said the most recent picture he received had a good amount of glare (so it was hard to tell), but up until then it seemed the only thing currently remaining is a hairline blemish, which they BELIEVE is just pigmentation not yet regenerated.
This is very good news in my mind.
In the case of doctor Umar, he said that one of his guys was supposed to meet with him last week Friday? I think? But there was a scheduling conflict. He said last he heard Dr. Umar was awaiting the pictures to send to Acell. He also stated that hair regrowth also takes longer than simple skin regrowth as once the skin is in place it takes a few more weeks for follicles and stuff to regenerate.
One thing they are unsure of as of now, though, is what would happen if you only cut out half the scar. He says your body should genetically regenerate what's SUPPOSED to be their, but they don't know if that will pull from the surrounding scar tissue or not. As when they did the scar revision they cut out the whole thing.
He said that as they accumulate more cases and studies, pictures will be posted announcing successes under their Human Medical Solutions page.
Also, I remember someone saying that the Adipose or fatty tissue of deep wounds would be unable to regenerate, but he says he fully believes it will. He said in clinical trials with animals, damage to the bone was fully regenerated all the way through, in some cases with just one application. He then joked that animals heal way better than humans though.
Now, I am skeptical of everything, and probably won't truly believe in it till my own scars are gone haha. BUT... this was a strong push for me to instill a little hope into this thing...

So did that scar regenerate, or was there a hairline scar?
Just flipping through the new PDFs Acell has posted on their site ...
I thought this was particularly interesting in the amputated finger patient leaflet:
During Healing, Will My Finger Increase in Length?
Using the powder will not guarantee added finger length.
However, studies indicate that your wound may heal without
scarring.
Disappointed that the length may not increase ...however that last sentence is ALL we need to happen. If Acell can regenerate dermal tissue we are set.
Dear researchers: Please study this ...NOW!

Did he regrow scar free tissue on the end of his finger? I don't know if his results are good or bad lol. He isn't able to regrow a finger but he did regrow scar free skin.

The skin and muscles of fingertips of some can regenerate themselves. However, it is amazing that the ECM can regenerate some muscles in the upper leg of a soldier in Texas.
