This thread has been the epitome of huff and puff and no stuff
I have an idea of what I could have done wrong the last time. If it works out better this time, I will likely return with more information within about two weeks.
My theory is it's the dosage. Should be repeated doses once every 2 hours for at least 24 hours, because the half life is 2 hours and in the chinese study they got results after 24 hours. Last time I took just one big dose and then nothing after. That wouldn't have lasted long enough in my body.
Mind you it might still not work for whatever reason, but I will try it out.
I'm not in any way trained as a biologist or anything, I'm just going by the information I have.
Yes, I'm still looking into resveratrol, and have hopes that there could be a better result by taking it in repeated doses, once every few hours to have a high enough concentration in the bloodstream for long enough for it to work.
In the study I found the researchers had got an 80% reduction of scar tissue (as far as I understood it) and while I have seen some improvement, it has been nothing close to that.
I posted a link to the study late last year in this thread in the hope that someone could help me make sense of it and how exactly resveratrol should be used to get the same result, unfortunately nobody came forward, and there seems to be zero information anywhere about this other than that study and me talking about it in this thread.
Unfortunately I found out about another problem. There is something called bioavailabilty, which is the amount of a substance that gets out into the body, and this is very low for resveratrol because it's filtered by the liver. The study had resveratrol concentrations of 75, 150 and 300 of I forgot what unit per what volume, possibly nanomole per mililitre or similar. It's impossible to get those high concentrations, a great amount of pills only gets you 5 or so, a fraction of what is needed. They don't have that problem in the lab because they excised the scar from the body.
The study talked about cell cycles, and how resveratrol interrupted the cell cycle of the collagen (scar tissue) cells which lead to the cells being killed without being replaced. The cell cycle lasts for 24 hours according to some information. And by other information, resveratrol has a half life of 1-3 hours. Meaning if you just take it once it likely wouldn't be enough. That's why my theory is to take repeated doses during a 24 hour time period. And see how that works.
Since the scar treatment market has been said to be a billion dollar market, and if a cure/treatment actually had been found (in the form of resveratrol or something else available), why isn't there someone looking to cash in on this? Getting to the bottom of it? Finding out the correct dose, usage etc and starting marketing it for this purpose and selling it? The paper from the Chinese researchers came out over a year ago. The conclusion of the paper more or less plainly states that "resveratrol is a potential agent for scar treatment". It's one thing to develop a new drug. It's another thing to use something that's already approved and for sale. That should be much easier. Since it's not happening, I suspect something is wrong, or not as easy as it seems.

What about using it topically ? !!
"A pioneer in her field, Sharon is the first-ever investigator to regulate tissue morphogenesis in a completely synthetic biomaterial"
Can anyone tell me what exactly is morphogenesis? It's weird
Great news guys,
they just recently post a article regarding their success of regenerating burn wounds in porcine..
They are planning to translate it to human shortly...

So the hydrogel worked for the pig trials? Does it say how long until they do human trials?
