yeah just when I was scheduled to act in a movie, on the way there a car with a drunk driver crashed into me , my car flipped and I fainted, the car exploded into flames soon after. and I got bad burns all over my face and body. One moment having perfect model type skin and the next looking like a monster is really tough. I just hope the hydrogel really works...

I've contacted him before but apparently got no reply , so not sure if he is still practicing

Also, I cannot find a single source of Acell being used for scarring besides hair transplants

Hello, I've been reading here a while, this is my first posting.

So about the time, if you compare to oculus new scar gel, that started human trials in august 2012 and got FDA approval december 2013 and went on sale this month september 2014. As I understand they got a 501K which is the same as the hydrogel needs. Human trials were said to start in 18-24 months and that was 15 months ago, so it should be between 3-9 months left. If it then takes the same as for oculus, 2 years, then this could reach market in as little as two and a half years. I may be wrong, but that could be a best case scenario.

Hello, I've been reading this thread and about the hydrogel. I've suffered from scars for five years and wonder how many years more...

So about the time it could take:

If you know about oculus new scar cream that started human trials in august 2012, got FDA approval december 2013 and went on sale this month september 2014. The hydrogel was said to start human trials in 18-24 months and that was 15 months ago, this would then be 3-9 months left plus 2 years 1 month. In that case, about 2,5 years total from now.

Best case scenario but still, something to hope for.

FDA approval takes way too long. Hope the company does uk markets too.

There is still quite a significant chance that human trials may fail (like juvista)

This is basic hypoxia study, nothing to do with the wound healing, let alone application potential

Acell matrix causes pro-inflammatory response, not a good candidate...

Could be longer...

As skin regenerating matrix, it will be medical device category III, thus taking longer time...

I'm aware, it's just insight on what they're doing, just in case anyone was interested.

So why does it talk about "promote rapid neovascularization from the host tissue during subcutaneous wound healing"? Do you know?

strangely some sources write "enhanced healing" instead of scar free.

And it may really be just that, a "band-aid" for faster healing for burn wounds, none of that scar free stuff. Which would explain the little hype and funding

My scars are itching and this constant itch has ruined my life because it makes me unable to truly enjoy anything. I'm contemplating suicide.

If a cure is 3-4 years away, either hydrogel or the electric-something treatment, I can hold out, but if it's 5+ years I feel it's not worth it.

Hypoxia cause angiogenesis/neovascularization, similar reason to cause cancer, which is full of blood vessels.

Neovascuarization is good wound healing, but also is a reason to cause scar formation. Some treatment uses anti-angiogensis

Good to know, but the Integra, the control group, was originally filed as class III. Hydrogel could be classified as I, II, or III. it depends on what is your application...

I don't have acne scars like most people here. I have hypertrophic scars from past half assed suicide attempts.
