Large bumps on nose left after pimples

Hey there. I've recently discovered this forum, and I'm kind of relieved to find an outlet to rant and discuss problems with others specifically regarding acne. I hope I have chosen the right place to post this.

I have had (and still have, I guess) problems with cysts on my nose for several years. I have tried quite a few home remedies and perscriptions from a dermatologist (including Accutane) to no avail. I don't get as many pimples I used to now--thankfully--but I'm not completely cured (who is?).

My problem is this: I have bumps and enlarged pores from the cysts I had on my nose. It's as if the cysts never flattened out and went away. The swelling would calm down, and the cysts would decrease in size; however, a bump would remain. These bumps and enlarged pores have been on my nose for over 5 years now. There's no discoloration, and the skin doesn't look like there's a scar. What's also annoying is that cysts would grow in the same spot every few months causing the swelling and redness all over again. It looks like I've had the same cysts on my nose for the past 5 years, and they act like turn-signal blinkers turning red and back every few months :wall::injured:

It's been about 3 years since I've last seen my dermatologist and have taken any prescription medicine. I plan to find a new dermatologist this week to find out what my options are regarding fixing my bumps.

I haven't seem to find anyone with a similar problem from the searching I've done. Does anyone have any words of wisdom or advice for me in regards to anything that might help me out?

Thanks for looking!

i know its been 8 years, 4 months, and around 11 days since you posted this, but I think I have your answer.

I think you have this thing called rosaeca. Thats probably not the correct spelling, but if u put it in googke, im sure ur gonna find it. A lot of people report the same thing you did and are lead to believe that rosaeca is the cause. So good luck! Hope this helps someone.

Hey guys!

Found some additional info here: www.topix.com/forum/med/dermatology/TTBJJI77TIU3JDRIF/p4

make sure to copy and paste the entire URL, guys. It won't work unless you copy paste. Otherwise it just takes you to the website and not the page I linked to.

Anymore information is welcomed and much needed. Also appreciated! Thanks.
