My Korean Skincare Routine

This is my personal skincare log to help me keep track of my progress and any changes I might make.

I have had mild acne with the occasional cyst since I was in middle school (now a freshman in college). I have tried various regimens since then. I used to just use clear glycerin soap & treatment, but that routine led to my skin being oily within an hour, I tried over the counter 3-step products but those weren't effective for me. They would dry out and irritate my skin which is never a good thing to leave be. After 7 or so years of research and trial and error I ended up where I am now. So anyways my current routine is about 9+ steps depending on time of day & whether or not I'm using a treatment (mask, extra serum, etc.) so anyways here goes:

Day:

Foam Cleansers (Mixed together): Alba Botanica Pineapple Enzyme Face Wash & AcneFree Sensitive Face Wash

Toner: AcneFree Sensitive Toner

Ampoule: Mizon Herbal Orange Blossom Ampoule (helps get rid of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation)

Essence: Skinfood Parsley & Mandarin Essence (Herbalish acne treatment)

Treatment 1: Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel (1% Salicylic Acid)

Treatment 2: AcneFree Sensitive Acne Repair Lotion + Spot Treatment

Light Moisturizer: Alba Botanica Hawaiian Oil Free Moisturizer

Cream: Alba Botanica Hawaiian Moisture Cream

Sunscreen: Ocean Potion Face SPF 45

Night:

Oil Cleanser: Grapeseed Oil

Foam Cleansers (Mixed): Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam & AcneFree Sensitive Face Wash

Toner: AcneFree Sensitive Toner

Ampoule: Mizon Herbal Orange Blossom Ampoule (helps get rid of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation)

Essence: Skinfood Parsley & Mandarin Essence (Herbalish acne treatment)

Treatment 1: Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel (1% Salicylic Acid)

Treatment 2: AcneFree Sensitive Acne Repair Lotion + Spot Treatment

Light Moisturizer: Alba Botanica Hawaiian Oil Free Moisturizer

Cream: Alba Botanica Hawaiian Moisture Cream

Night Cream: Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream (I added a few drops of lavender & lemon essential oils because the smell bothered me)

Night Mask: (2x a week) TonyMoly Red Appletox Honey Cream

I am also taking Lo Loestrin FE (birth control) for acne & other issuses

I find this routine to be effective for me, I don't have new breakouts (I get the occasional new pimple every now & again but I feel that as I continue this routine even those will disappear) And my skin is a lot softer & my hyperpigmentation goes away alot faster than it used to.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF SUNSCREEN.

Tanning & etc dehydrates your skin (irritating acne) as well as darkening and lengthening hyperpigementation and leading to wrinkles, so basically the sun is evil and out to destroy your skin.

You are so pretty! Glad you found the solution. What made you chose Grapeseed oil over other oils?

Grapeseed is not very comedogenic (classified as not likely to cause acne) and it help regulate sebum (facial oil) production ^_^

sorry I haven't been updating I keep getting distracted :l

Quick update: my skin has gotten better visually, still not a fan of the texture of it (little (not red) bumps on forehead & around mouth, probably going to go to a dermatologist)

Also added argan oil to my routine.
