A small new papule. The jawline is the same but the pain is the same as well. I have another appointment with the derm in a few hours, let's see if now i 'll have antibiotics. Even though i exfoliate daily my closed comedones are the same or increasing.. i use only non comedogenic products and avoid make up, even non comedogenic. I don't remember having this issue before... I 'll ask what to do about these.
alright, it's been a week on 50 mg. This week i had two new pustules, one papule and a few red spots. All these were small/tiny and most of them actually disappeared within the day without leaving their marks behind. Unfortunately i had 3 clogged pores inflamed (1 wasn't big deal but the other two are big and stubborn). So basically i see an improvement of inflamed acne-spiro has results (fingers crossed) but i have to do something about comedones. I have
an appointment for facial cleansing today but the damned clogged pores seem to sense that and i see a few of them have a pinkish color and i don't know if the derm will extract them now that they have symptoms of inflammation . If they are gone my acne will be much less. Let's hope that the facial will be effective.
I did the facial, i don't think she removed them all.. mostly on chin. I hope there will be no infection. I am a little disappointed because she said something about cysts -that the inflammed clogged pores are cystic or something and about that huge thing on my chin about a month ago, she said it could be active underneath the skin and be inflammed occassionally. It was also very painful. She prescribed a clindamycin+b.p. gel and said that if this doesn't help we will use topical retinoid or blue light treatment. I feel so tired... it was such a big mistake to stop spiro.. now none of these would have happened.
I feel two painful areas. I don't know if it's just painful due to the extraction (most likely) or if they are old ones aggravated by the extraction or if they are new ( i doubt that especially for the one). It's strange but it's like the pain shifts places, i use swabs to touch my skin and now i feel the pain here, the next time there is no pain here but 2 cm on the left etc. I am icing them anyway.
I guess icing is the best thing you can do at that state. My acne has definatly changed with Spiro. Well now of course, because it brought me so much relief. But I had a phase that lasted about 2 months where my skin was just weird: I had painful spots on my face. Like there was a cyst underneath, but it was not really hard. sometimes a bit red. But it was really painful and sometimes even itchy.
Whenever I had one of those, I had a 50/50 chance of it just disappearing, or becoming a zit. I learned that icing really makes the difference for those fellows that cannot decide whether they will stay and grow or just go. I applied my PC 10% AHA on them a few times a day, then ice them as often as possible and afterwards I put a spot of 5% BPO on them ( I had been on the regimen for the last 21 years and quit the widespread usage, but still have some here for spot treatment. I also apply it when I have squeezed clogged pores, because it prevents them from becoming inflamed)
I would say that with this regimen, about 90% of those things disappeared after 2 days without developing into a zit or cyst.
For the Rest: hang on. Spiro is really slooow.

Thanks so much for the tips, i got a prescription for clindamycin + b.p. 5% to help with comedones, starting tomorrow. Just look what they turn into, upper right corner and they never seem to end, i have to do something to stop them from forming/being so big and your advice sounds great. Now i feel this pain on many areas and i don't know if it's from the extraction or they are new inflamed comedones, i feel disappointed cause i 'll have to spent my entire day switching icing places..
Hmm at this point I would be really careful with facials. Because...the clogged pores usually just refill and may become inflamed. If I have a bunch of them , I just apply AHA and after 30 Minutes ist squeeze the skin very very very gently with tissue wrapped around my fingers (the pores are open then). What does not come out that way, will nit be touched any further.
Usually this works very well , and I apply a small layer BPO afterwards to prevent infection.I do this in the evening after a shower when everything is extremely clean and the skin is already softened, and afterwards I do not put on any make up or moisturizer or whatever, and sleep on a fresh towel with my face. So they never inflame. They only do that if I pick during daytime which is a veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad habit I should really get control over ASAP.
For clogged pores, the best choice for me are acid peels. I do the PC AHA 10% and PC BHA 2% daily and it made a huuuge difference.
I will order some higher percentage home peels from Make up artists choice when I get my first paycheck for my new job I just started (used to be a stay at home mom until last week), because the shipping costs are horrendous (37 USD).
Those things looked absolutely the same for me. And they appeared on places I never was acne-prone before. Like that spot you have there. My active acne was along my jawline and around my mouth and I never had zits on my upper cheeks.

I didn't want to risk it either but there were so many.. it was so expensive and i don't think it was done properly-and she is a university professor-no magnifing lens, no chem. peeling before but dermabrasion after, no high frequency electricity. I use 2 creams one 8% aha, 1% bha- avene clenance k and one with azelaic acid, 2% bha and some other stuff, you won't know it it's local brand, but the clogged pores continued to build up and get inflamed. I never tried to hot wash-steam my face and then squeeze them but i will try, i hope along with b.p. the problem will be solved.
I used the cleanance K as well as the triacneal in the past, but they were never as effecitive as the combination of the 10% AHA Liquid (no cream) and the 2% Gel.
I think that the products you use are probably to weak, if you still have tons of them comedones. I have heard a lot of good stuff about lactic acid peels and mandelic acid peels.

What do you think of Uriage Hyseac K18 AHA? It's 18% aha and it says it's non comedogenic. "Hyseac K18 is a Keratoregulator, and unclogs pores effectively to reduce the appearance of new blemishes, thanks to a very well tolerated AHA (18%)-BHA complex".
I think it is not mainly the concentration, but also the acidity of the peel which determines how effective it is. My 10% is the weekly resurfacing treatment by Paulas choice. I think they sell samples. For me the effects were stunning after the first night. sop you might give it a try once maybe. Or you right away try the peels that green gables uses ( lactic acid and BHA) by MUAC, I only heard really good things about them. You might want to check the homepage, because som kinds of peelings seem more suiteable for acne than others. But it sounds strange that an 18% AHA does not help woth closed comedones ,when the 10% for me erased tons of them over night.

Paula's Choice doesn't ship here, i can't find MUAC products either.. i don't want to mess up with ordering from foreign countries. I haven't used the 18% concentration, it's the highest that i found, it's available here and it's not comedogenic so i am considering it. They claim that it doesn't irritate the skin but i don't know since i will start using b.p. which has this effect on it's own.
Yesterday night i saw a new swelling around a blackhead in the middle of my chin. 24h after facial, i guess that's why i don't think it was a good facial. I iced it and put b.p. and aha on it and it's better. There is a new small pustule-the kind i had before the facial, if these continiue for a few more weeks i am gonna try 75 mg. There is a new swelling next to the one around the blackhead i said before, i 'll do the same spot treatment for this. The strange thing is that i touch it and the pain is located on my jawline, the strange pain i wrote about a week ago and that worries me a lot. I still feel pain on some spots of my cheeks and i don't know if it is just pain from the extraction, if they are new-independent or related to the extraction breakouts. I have 2 small pus filled papules on my nose-really really small but i don't think i should have them, i guess the antisepsis wasn't very good so i wonder how many of these breakouts are related to the facial? I've lost count.
One of the painful spots is actually a new pustule and i think it is a not removed closed comedone as well. I iced it and put b.p. and aha to stop it from growing like the previous-huge and they are both on the same side. There is also a new pain next to a healed (but still hypertrophic) pustule-this was comedone, the new i don't know. I am tired of icing my face, i just want it to be clear.. I started clindamycin+b.p. gel yesterday, the derm said to use every other night at the begining.
Hey, hang on. I know it sucks soooo much when your skin is going crazy. Spiro is just so slow, and it is frustrating that on top of your normal acne, you get totally strange new pimples. But this is also a sign that there ARE changes happening, and you can be optimistic that it will work . It is only a question of time.

it's not only acne now. . Yesterday i put on a kyphosis brace (if i am spelling it right).. Medicine right from the dark ages, i kept waking up every 1 and a half hour and i must use it as many hours as i can for one year. I was never superstitious but 2013 is medically the worst year for me and my family..
