they sell the Purity cleanser everywhere..macys, nordstroms, sephora, amazon. My mom makes sure to buy it with discounts since it's sooo expensive regular priced...I can't believe I've been using Cetaphil for so long...Clarisonic is from the same company as the Sonicare toothbrushes, it's like a beauty/face brush...I guess you can call it an at home facial, I've just been reading so many reviews for years on how so many girls love it..so I had to give it a shot..
Keep us updated. U guys are an inspiration with your updates.

I'm about to finish my second week! Tomorrow is my last day. And I start third week pills on Sunday! My breakout wasn't so bad! Just like four or five pimples that'll die down quickly. Nothing on my cheek or jawline which is unusual! Things are looking up!
yay for clear skin.....once you get past that 2nd week, it's good until the next second week of the next month. lol

A little post-Christmas update...so...my skin has been going through a *small* initial breakout period from the Clarisonic..yes you have to love these initial breakouts. It's mainly whiteheads and a few papules and pustules on my cheeks (where my largest pores are "purging" the most)...I hear this initial breakout lasts a week..so...aside from that, I have a few pimples on the top of my forehead, and my jawline has a few pimples, and inactive cysts that are scabbing over. Note that my jawline is an area where I never break out, so these few months on this birth control pill, my jawline, (which is a hormonal area for acne) has been breaking out a lot with hard hardddd cysts (er they aren't even cysts but I'm not sure of the proper terminology for these under the skin lumps!) I also skipped a day of minocycline a day ago.
So I've been eating a ton of oily, greasy, fried food this holiday weekend and haven't exercised in a couple days..I feel unhealthy right now...Hope all of you girls are having a great holiday weekend!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS =)
Ok so this is a non skin related post because my face is the same as my last post....................I just wanted to write about a product I've been using on my hair (as so many other girls) for the past month...
Moroccan oil has been doing wonders for my hair..I gave into the hype and purchased the bottle from amazon at $40, I thought it would just tame my frizzy hair and add shine, but it completely restores it because it is so nutritive and makes my scalp less oily! Isn't it ironic, to combat oily hair, use moroccon oil... I did some research on it's properties, Argan oil (the ingredient in Moroccon oil) is produced from the kernels of the argan tree in Morocco...it has nutritive, cosmetic and medicinal properties...The tree is well adapted to drought and tough conditions which is why the oil works so well in our beauty routines.
Back to the oily part, I can go for 3 days without washing my hair if I use this stuff...normally my hair looks drenched 1.5 days in.....So not only is this oil good for aging, and improving skin and hair, and it has tons of antioxidant properties in it vitamins and fatty acids, I've also heard it's useful for acne, and diminishing acne scars (I have yet to try this)........the product reduces oil production for human skin and hair that is excessively oily (journal of Cosmetic Dermatology)...It actually reduces/normalizes sebum production which is great...here's a little more info
ARGAN AND ACNE
Argan oil works wonders for the prevention, lessening, and treatment of acne. To be specific, here are just some of the benefits of argan oil:
- Argan oil controls the release of sebum in the body. Argan acts as a neutralizer, so when the sebaceous glands start to over produce sebum oils, argan stops and prevents this from happening.
- Argan oil has disinfectant characteristics that help with acne infected skin. Agan lessens redness brought about by acne. In the same manner, argan disinfects skin, cleaning it and avoiding further infection to occur.
- Argan oil keeps skin feeling healthy. For people with oily skin, regular application of argan oil will help reduce the oiliness. Argan oil can remove the greasy feeling and help you look and feel good about yourself.
I don't know if I'd ever use it for my face, but I love that is makes my hair so healthy, soft and full while at the same time reducing sebum on my scalp so that my hair looks great for more days inbetween washings...it is a multitask product...I am definitely using it every time I wash my hair now that I see it *improves* not only masks unhealthy, fried, dry hair.. And I find it works better than my Chi Silk Infusion which also has a great amount of reviews...
Awe that makes me feel better. I was in my moms bathroom. She has a lot of natural lighting and i wanted you to be able to see everything. My forehead breaksout alot on the second week. But I'm slowly am getting clearer and clearer.... I need to start working out again and eating healthy

~My skin is feeling better...my chin is looking surprisingly good, no cysts there, my forehead is looking good...the main problem areas right now are a lot of small bumps (papules/whiteheads/pustules) on my cheeks, and still trying to get my jawline clear....Also I've skipped 2 days of Minocycline out of laziness, and I'm probably going to not take it for this whole upcoming week since it's the non hormone pill week and I never break out, anyway. My skin looks decent with makeup, but after all these months of being cooped up in my house, I noticed how pale I am, I can't wait until I'm clear so I can start using self tan on my face again!
~With the Clarisonic, I noticed, for this past week I was using it on the low speed because I was worried it would be too harsh on my skin. Yesterday I tried out the normal speed, and wow it made a huge difference. Maybe that's why I was breaking out on my cheeks because the brush wasn't even on the proper setting..
~I've been really dry and itchy lately...my legs especially...maybe from the winter weather, maybe from the pill, or the antibiotic...

~OK so I've been on the pill for 3 months....as for side effects I've experienced during this time period~ no weight gain...actually my appetite might have even decreased...The main thing, the main side effect from this pill that is probably the most prominent in my mind, is my chest...my breasts on this pill, maybe for a good 2.5 weeks of each pack (from the beginning of the 2nd week until the *end* of the 3rd week), have been really sore...especially when I stand up from sitting or lying down, or when I go to take a shower. I read some reviews awhile ago on Ortho Tri cyclen and I recall some girls saying they couldn't take the "pregnancy breasts" anymore.. I've been on 2 previous birth control pills before so I can compare how my chest/body/weight was on each of them...........
On Yasmin ~ I gained weight (my whole body), I read my 2007 log over but I still remember having cravings just for food all the time, in the morning in the middle of the night, all the time...and I put in my previous log that I gained around 10 pounds. My breasts did not grow that much on this pill and they weren't that sore.
On Necon (Ortho Novum high dose pill), I think I gained a few pounds, maybe 2 or 3, nothing too bad. My chest did not hurt until a few days before my period week and that's when they would increase in size. They would return to normal after my period began and into the next pack. However with this high dose pill, I had severe hand eczema and lost a lot of hair because the high dosage of hormones is not good for your body.
Now on to this pill...Tri Sprintec, for some odd reason, even though this is considered a low/standard dose of hormones pill, I feel that this pill has exaggerated the "pregnancy" symptoms...you know what I'm talking about, I was on the high dose pill, and it's expected to be crazier than normal pills, but with Tri Sprintec , these symptoms are almost the same as when I was on Necon 1/50....extremely sore breasts, the worst initial breakout, strong discharge, slightly longer period, etc etc..which means I have to be diligent about taking my vitamins and supplements and eating healthy because I don't want my hair to start falling out again or to get any other bad side effects that hormones can produce..Maybe explains why the initial breakout is so bad as well...something with the hormones in this pill that are just..stronger? Or maybe it's the fact that it's a triphasic BCP, and delivering 3 weeks of differing levels of hormones tricks your body more than usual.
I have to say I kind of miss being on a monophasic pill....I don't really see the purpose of triphasic pills...

I'm definitely not complaining either...
I can deal with breast soreness if they increase by 1 to 2 inches like mines did with this one lol...like literally every beauty guru on youtube, and on beauty blogs has a Clarisonic and they all swear by it it, so I just had to give it a try...but damn with these initial breakouts...I'm still trying to see if it's actually helping since I've only had it for a week, and I was on minocycline anyway which by itself can make me clear...My aunt is also following my progress, because she wants to see how someone with "acne issues" does with the Clarisonic and if it's worth it....Happy early birthday!!

Do you think it's as equivalent as just using one of those small face scrub brushes? Also, how do you clean the bristles?
Ahhhh sometimes I get depressed because I've come a long way, but then I remember how the bcps made my acne the worst it could EVER be, so its like what the heck! Like I never had jawline or much on my fore head. But I have to remind myself it'll be better in the long run

What makes me sad is the pitted scars i got from picking on them ); i wouldnt get sad if they were just discolorations b/c those go away but the pitted scars dont and im just so sad right now ugh its so unfair how other girls dont have to spend so much money on lab tests, meds or doc visits. I really wish all my scars and pitted ones go away ):

gosh dont even get me started on the pitted scars. I have so many.... it looks like a cheese grater on the side of my cheeks and temples 
there are days where i accept it and there are days where i just feel so depressed and embarrassed about my skin. like i can literally watch peoples eyes that are talking to me and they look at my cheeks. so sad... like i honestly would trade for a face full of acne as long as each pimple/cyst/whitehead/blackhead etc.. didn't leave a scar behind but EVERY single one leaves a scar.

I'm not sure...I know its by the same makers of Sonicare we use, and its the top brand for electric toothbrushes and theres all these proven benefts with the technology that Clarisonic uses....something with getting six times deeper into the pores, making your acne medications and moisturizers work way better........Clarisonic is basically the best brand.........you clean the bristles by washing it every week with soap...my brush is so stained since I wear a lot of foundation...

I've felt that way ever since 5th grade....there are some people who have flawless, spotless, glowing skin with just soap and water..and people like me, lets see theres the topicals $40 for the Duac, $40 for the Tazorac, there's the birth control pills, the antibiotics, the special cleansers, the different moisturizers, the oil control products...It's insane how much money I've spent on my skin, all because of crappy genetics from both my parents!

So I went out today to the city and my skin was looking really really good, especially with makeup it pretty much makes me clear except for a few bumps.....today was the first day in a month I didn't feel self conscious about my skin and I'm happy because at the end of the night this really cute guy was flirting with me...so it must mean my skin is kind of back to normal.......but yea..this is random 
I'm feeling happy...sugar pill week....and 2 more days until new years, so at least I will have good skin for one holiday!! Not Thanksgiving, not Christmas..but NYE! =)........
Ahahahahha get your flirt on girl! Ahahahah! Glad to hear your progress. Hopefully not another breakouts on pack 4 though haha. I hate how i got my moms genetics. My dad has no acne. My mom has acne but not like all over her face. She does get big cysts though but she only started getting bad acne like when she was in the early 30s i think b/c i looked at her old pics & her face was like flawless. Do you think i got her genetics?
