I cannot under and circumstance ever leave my house without makeup on. I put it on right when I wake up and take it off before I get in bed. I got to school and work everyday which means I wear makeup everyday
Is this just because of the bad initial breakout or have you always been like this? A few months ago before I started this pill, I would just dust a little powder on my face (for the oils especially) and my face would look clear...now I don't even have school or work but my face looks so uneven and bumpy, I have to wear heavy foundation if I'm running 1 errand or walking my dogs around the block.........also what are you using? I've been using Revlon Colorstay, it's trusty, doesn't break me out, and stays put, but I hate hate hate the feeling it gives, like a mask....I'm trying to wear MUFE HD (have an old bottle) but I think it clogs my pores, however it feels very good on my skin..
by the way can you imagine if we had to switch birth control brands and go through this initial breakout thing AGAIN..At least we already have 2 months down....I'm never switching after I get clear....cannot do this thing again..
I've always been like this because I have so many scars! If you look at diamondandheels14 on YouTube look at her foundation video. That's exactly how my acne is right now, especially because of the hormones from bc now. But yeah=\ not suit for society. Her video is pretty good for watching too. It makes you feel better. Im using one from estee lauder for everyday. But for special occasions I use covergirl super stay foundation. It covers great and doesn't break me out at all(:
I know! I'm glad I have you because I probably wouldve dropped it or something. But at least I know my IB isn't just me(: it's supposed to happen and we can compare. But I know bc helps for scars too so that's good for me(:

So I took my first pill of the 3rd pack yesterday and I don't know, all last night, it felt like a lymph node in my armpit or something was swollen it was kind of painful, had to take an aspirin didn't sleep till 8 am, had a headache too, I think I always get headaches the first few days of a new pack....besides that my skin is looking good..for now...
Day 3, 3rd Pack, Tri Sprintec
My face looooooks and FEELS so good right now....I went out today, I did wear a lot of face makeup but I look pretty much clear with the makeup....And I feel less anxious and depressed, but maybe it's just because I had a good day today.....skin is looking good....I have a theory that the worst the initial breakout, the better and more consistent your face will be after that period...cuz when I was on Necon, I had no initial breakout, but I would still get a few cysts that time of the month..
Oh I wanted to add, I did not blot ONCE today...and I was out at this function thing until 11:30 until 3:30...I usually have to blot EVERY 5 minutes, and the tissue is covered in oil! So...hopefully my face stays this dry.

From all these breakouts and scars, the skin on my face is like an entirely different color than my neck and chest....it's an orangey reddish tone, I'm using my darker foundation shade, and using self tan on my neck and chest to even things out when I go out in public...lol
Yay I just got in from out of town! I ate terribly so well see how it goes! I finished my placebo pills and things are healing(: I'm so glad things are looking better for you on your third pack! Maybe things will start looking up this month? I start mine tomorrow(:

Things will probably be better for you, I know it'll take longer for me, my hormones are crazy messed up I was on a birth control pill before this that was bad..
Pack 3, Day 5
My skin looks bad, I'm back to obsessing about it and was anxious, feeling anxious..bad skin=bad mood....my chin is breaking out in cysts, 3 on the right, 3 on the left, some pimples at the bottom of it, and now it looks like my forehead is breaking out in pimples..just perfect.
I'm not gonna lie I'm getting frustrated and really anxious
omg Betsy I was just going to make this EXACT post lol. I'm getting REALLY frustrated and these past few months I've been a hermit in my own house, and anxious all the time, and I can't do anything..look for a job, meet with friends because of my face. I thought starting this 3rd pack, my face would begin to look better, but it looks the same..cysts all around my mouth, pimples on my forehead...I'm waiting for some improvement..and I'm not eating any bad food, I'm only wearing makeup maybe once a week, but no, still breakouts, then some clearing and then BREAKOUTS again!!! WTF..I'm so pissed with this pill, if that's even possible.............
And it doesn't even matter for that "second week" breakout anymore because I've been breaking out in the first week..so whatever! ugh..
I guess we can't give up =\ supposedly this bc pill is FDA approved for acne.... I'd just rather see someone actually say oh the generic healed my acne.
I'm gonna do a three day apple fast tomorrow and see if that helps... =(
Is that when you eat nothing but apple? Let us know if that helps though 🙂
Awww guys im so sorrry to hear this ): it really takes the 4th pack and then you can be frustrated. I hope days will go faster so it wont be too long. Best of luck to us all.
They say give it four to six months to clear up acne. I can't have my face looking like this for another 3 months....my doctor is not renewing my Minocycline prescription because last time I mistakenly told her I was allergic to it....I have to get that fixed, really that is the only way I avoided this whole initial breakout was with antibiotics....
I recommend to anyone starting birth control pills if you don't want to go through this initial breakout phase for up to six months, which will possibly leave you with bad scars afterward, is to get a prescription for an antibiotic like Doxycycline or Minocycline....just take them for the first months until the birth control pill has regulated your hormones then you can stop it. U will INSTANTLY be clear..

Apple fast eh? Haha sounds cool....
Generics did heal my acne....on Generic Yasmin I had the best skin...people would always be surprised to learn I really have severe acne without the pills, generic ortho novum I was practically clear except for a cyst around my period week.........I was reading birth control reviews, and some girls wrote that on different pills, it took different amounts of time for their acne to clear up...for one girl she said six months...that is a long long time...

I have a full prescription of doxy and like 4 tablets befote the full bottle of doxy . My derm doesnt know about them but do you think its safe to take them?

Cool, you already have the prescription.....who prescribed them to you? Your general doctor? And what do you mean "4 tablets before the full bottle"? What is the dosage 100 mg ? have u taken them before?
by the way I was on Doxy for 2 years when I was younger...that was my first acne drug...so long ago!
I only have expired Minocycline pills left

Pack 3, Day 8
Skin looks bad as usual, especially around the mouth area. Not a whole lot of new breakouts (just 2 pimples flared up), but the old cysts are taking SO long to go away, everything is on my face..spotty...awful...
YAY I just put in the order at my Pharmacy for my Minocycline!!!!!!!!!!! So happy I didn't have to wait weeks for the doc to call them......................

hahaha pregnancy glow....I don't even know, I try not to really look at myself too closely lol, from a distance I look alright.
I eat healthy but I only eat like....1 full meal and 1 small meal a day, and I'm naturally quite skinny, I look quite boney right now, so I'm trying to gain just 5 pounds..think it would be healthy...
I have a really small appetite...and plus I'm not in school anymore and I don't have a job so I've been moping around the house with my face looking like crap and that really doesn't help ...did you start your apple fast today? Why just apples? Couldn't you do a vegetable/fruit fast?
Pack 3, Day 9 (Tri Sprintec) + Day 1 (Minocycline)
Ok so I counted the number of spots I had on my face before I took the Minocycline,...about 10 plus numerous whiteheads and all that....Woke up this morning, no new breakouts, skin already looks a little better and feels better.
On another note, my boobs have been feeling really heavy lately and a bit sore because of the birth control pill...usually this happens at the end of week 2/beginning of week 3, I'm at the beginning of week 2 right now..so that's a bit odd..
I just bought my mom a Clarisonic online for Christmas, so I'm excited to get it (will prob use it too, with a different brush head) ..
