are you the one who posted recently that you are going on an antibiotic and trying to kill candida at the same time?

Don't you use sea salt? You can buy the kind that's not iodized and it shouldn't give you any trouble.

Yah as the days move on (past the last breakout) I'm starting to think that it may have been the chocolate.. However my mom is allergic to tomatoes so I may also be allergic and get minor acne from it but I'm not sure because I haven't been tested for tomatoes yet..

Chocolate is just so good.. even dark chocolate like 85% taste like heaven to me :o

But im off of it now :( *sigh*

Yes I have sea salt and I was using a lot of it.. I guess once again I added in to many things in one day to know what really caused it...

2 small servings salmon

1 serving of zucchini and onion

Almond butter

1 Avocado

Seltzer water

Walnuts

Tea

Starbucks espresso shot and water (had to study and sty up till 3 :/ )

Supplements:

3000-5000 taurine powder and pills

b-complex 50

1000 mg emergen C

mg/ca and vitamin D-3

Health:

Swam

Acupuncture

Yoga class for an hour and on my own for 15 minutes

Acne:

It's actually doing really well.. Nothing new on chin.. Can't even believe how clear it looks.. Still scaring but that takes a long time to go away. Not sure if it's the diet, taurine, acupuncture, or red and blue lights I have been using.. But I think all of them combined are helping. My forehead is now 100% and wonderful looking!

*Acupuncture is helping with my stress and helping me deal with school

*Diet is helping with health and not aggravating my messed up digestive system since all I eat is fish

*Taurine and b-complex seem to be helping but I would have to stop taking the supplements to really test it.. Which I might do when im 100% clear

*Red/infrared light is healing my skin and closing my pores

*Blue light is killing acne possibly.. Only use it for 2 minutes.

Mood:

Happy about skin but stressed about school

Health:

Swam

Got sun by the pool

Acne:

Nothing new.. Face is looking good.. Of course I still have a couple dieing down but no cysts or anything that is really bothering me or I think people are 'staring at' when I go out. I am actually happy with my skin not 100% but it's SOOOO much better then before.. And someone called me pretty today :) For the first time in a while.

New update for later in the day.. I drank some coffee and had a bad reaction.. I have a new pimple or group surfacing on the right side.. They hurt.. I always mess up right when im clear!! I don't know why I can't learn!!!!!!

Mood:

I've been in a really great mood.. Just happy about life in general. When acne calms down= happiness. But I have to say it's not just about the acne.. It's about your thought process/exercise and what you eat. When I stopped thinking about my acne it seemed to go away more. Which was also the time that I stated acupuncture. I feel more balanced and excited about life in general. If you would of known me or I had a log going back a few months it would of been really depressing. My whole chin was inflamed and my forehead. I looked like a monster.. So right now me feeling normal about my skin is craziness..

Hey biology - glad to hear you're doing so well. I agree, not thinking about acne is one of the biggest things that helps to clear it. It helps you avoid picking at things you shouldn't and mood plays a big part in acne I've found. Even now that I'm clear, I'm still in the habit of only briefly looking in mirrors, because I used to be so obsessively checking my skin over.

On a side note, since the taurine may be working for you (and what you're describing with the drying out sounds pretty familiar) maybe we have some similarities in what we can tolerate. I've found that fatty foods like pizza, burgers etc don't cause breakouts, but anything with a significant sugar content does. What taurine does is linked to helping you manage sugar, so the fact that its effective at all possibly indicates something wrong with our baseline sugar processing.

About the bumps under the skin - I got some of those early on too, that stayed for a week or so but never broke through the skin. I'd never had them before, not sure if yours are the same, but I thought they might have been a transitional stage before all the formations stopped.

Lastly, if you're looking for something to add to your (already hefty ) regimen, I can recommend drinking watered down Apple Cider Vinegar. I've been trying it for the last few weeks (I stopped experimenting for ages and am starting again aiming on clearing my arms) and have found that it actually helped my face go from 95% clear to just about 100%. I was drinking it leading up to a formal event I had and it really paid off. Also seems to have reduced the slight general redness that I hadn't been able to shake. If you're interested, I've been diluting a small amount in a large glass of water, basically going by ear. If you mix it right it's kind of like apple juice with an acid tang to it. Up to you if you want to try it, just thought I'd give the heads up :)

Good luck,

Pan

Thanks for the info! Yah throughout this whole thing I am finding that I am veryy sensitive to everything!! Even minor things like folders coffee will cause a minor breakout. That's so weird that you say that about the small bumps.. I had them everywhere on my left side and not on the right and wasn't sure what was causing them. And it's weird because every morning they aren't there and sometimes by the end of the day they are there. I just woke up so they aren't there right now and I think they are actually going away. I don't remember seeing them when I looked in the mirror last night. I will go get some organic apple cider vinegar soon. I actually had some but returned it because I tried it before and remember how weird it tasted. How much apple cider vinegar a day do you drink? And can you tolerate more glucose/fructose or CHO(carbohydrates) in your diet now? I have high faith that my acupuncturist is going to fix what ever is wrong with me and I will one day be able to tolerate some about of sugar again.

May as well put in this post..

So far since I started this diet I found out I am sensitive to

1) Organic carrots or any carrot

2) Dark chocolate

3) Coffee

4) Salt (possibly)

5) Tomatoes (possibly)

All 3 made me have a slight setback breakout.

Hey - I drink one glass of water/acv a day. It's a fairly big glass, but only a dash or two of ACV. Not sure exactly how much that measures. Funny, I had my suspicions about tomatoes at one stage. Never really managed to rule them in or out.

As for the sugars, I find i'm relatively tolerant now. I ate a medium sized chocolatey dessert thing a few nights back and it might have given me like one neck pimple (or that might have been the copious amounts of alcohol :P)

What kind of scars are we talking? Red/dark marks left over from spot or ice-picks or what?

I have red marks all along my chin.. A few red marks on my checks.. A couple deep pores on each side of check like half inch away from mouth.. I have been thinking about derma rolling just on that like small section of my check and on my chin. My chin doesn't have any indentations but it's just very discolored.

I don't think I can help with the deep pores - I have 3 or so on my left cheek I've never been able to do much about. I have found that exfoliating with a baking soda/water paste and then toning with an ACV/water mix (at about 1 part acv in 2 parts water) gets rid of dark/red marks over a bit of time.

Yeah I did occasionally feel a little dry - usually while it was drying out the stuff on my face. I went through a period of being super thirsty a while back, not sure what that was about either. I use a moisterising body wash now which stops me being itchy and/or dry, but I think most of the side effects like that are minor and go away after a bit
