Hey Timu24
I would say what might help is to never touch those areas. (Pick at or try to remove any non-smooth areas[the bumpy stuff]) Just leave it alone.
What helped me was
[Edited link out]
I use to buy it at wal-mart for $4 or so.
Only reason I quit using it was because I found out it was alkaline int he pH when I used a tester on it. IMO, I shouldn't have, but I bought a whole bunch of other bodywash and it's not as good as that one, but since Ihave a bunch of it, I am going to use it. Also, I didn't have all the body breakouts like I did before so it wasn't a concern to me anymore.
I might re-try this sometime later. I'm going to keep washing with dandruff shampoo to see if the flakes will go away.
to be honest, i don't really trust any topical products from the store anymore.
they are all a bunch of rip offs that just want my money.
if i buy anything from the drugstore it's probably gonna be sunscreen or supplement pills.
i seriously cannot stand these companies.
HOW can they live? how can they live while they have induced so many people to suffer.
it's ridiculous.
none of their products work and if they do it's because the person has had fairly normal skin to begin with.
hm.. my face got really dry and blotchy from this. so im going to put aquaphor on my face until it heals then start again.
edit: since we r going all natural here and since the aquaphor seems to not work as well, i decided to put fresh aloe vera gel straight from the plant on my face until it heals
i dont even have acne, just dry and irritated red skin from using soap, cleanser, etc. so basically im doing this so that my face can heal on its own (it will never heal if i keep using cleansers to wash away the acid mantle)
to mike:
1) restore your skin from the damage you've done from bp, cleansers. we were never meant to use all these chemicals to get rid of pimples, acne. our face is designed to heal on its own but we were misinformed i guess
2) it depends on the person and how much damage you've already done. but if u follow this regimen, your face will be covered in dead skin and become thick. so i guess when that falls off and the dead skin becomes less and less
3) you may want to use nothing for the first month or so, since water is drying and may hinder the process. but once your face gets stronger then you can use water with no problem.
hope that helps
rand0m- thanks so much, that def. helps a lot
This regimen has been noted to reduce redness and increase the quality of tone on your face within the first weeks of using it.
Serious results have only been seen in members who have stuck to the regimen tooth and nail and continue to do so.
Note: This regimen may not work for hormonal acne, or hereditary acne, as it is being used for acne caused by IRRITATION.
Members using this regimen have seen 90%+ clear faces but only after using this regimen for WEEKS. There hasn't been much information as far as this regimen's effect on moderate+ acne.
I read the majority of this post and then began to follow key members as they continued with this regimen.
For anyone not wanting to read the whole thing, I'll try my best to break it down.
Throughout the post many members followed either a no wash or a just water regimen. From what I saw, it was generally best to AVOID washing with anything at all (including water) for the first week.
After this week, wash off the SURFACE dead skin with light application of water (do NOT remove the dead skin yet!) and continue your no wash regimen.
:arrow:I suppose you'll continue this process for a few weeks (maybe 3-5) and then begin the process of gently removing your dead skin mask. Few members chose to treat the mask as they went along (this was the MAIN problem with people's ability to follow this regimen) using very little moisturizers. One member (nguygenguy I think) used Vitamin C Oil as Vitamin C has healing qualities. Another (not sure who) used Olive Oil, on his face as well as in his diet and that seemed to help as well. Another thing was to use your fingers (mostly because they can easily be cleaned) instead of bacteria hoarding face towels. Remember to apply this moisturizer lightly and not to rub or irritate your skin.
Continue this pattern but if you want, increase the amount of times you wash your face weekly. Try not to exceed 3 times a week, and only begin doing this AFTER you've seen results and you're past your dead skin phase. Constantly washing your face will negatively affect your dead skin phase (the most crucial phase, as it is the healing phase for your skin) and interrupt the process you've been working on.
Slowly incorporate your daily life back into this regimen such as eating things, exercising more often, swimming. Do these one by one to see how they effect your face. If you break out doing any of these, it's best to continue the regimen longer, and go back to that activity when you feel your skin has the ability to handle it.
If I miss anything, or post anything incorrectly, please feel free to correct me.
Thank you to all the members who have stuck to this post, and come back to constantly update us on your progress.
Good luck to anyone trying this regimen!!
u did an excellent job of breaking it down...i haven't let anything touch my face except water since Dec. 13th of last year and let me tell ya my complexion and tone look GREAT! Still seeing minor minor dead skin buildup each day, but I really believe it's reducing on a week-by-week basis. What I've been doing is washing 1x a day at night after my shower using a fresh washcloth to get any dead skin buildup that may have accumulated. I discard the washcloth to the dirty clothes basket after one use and use a fresh new one the next night. It's been going good like I said, but I really really really hope that within the next month I can not worry about washing my face @ all as I hope the dead skin will be permenatly gone forever (unless of course I fu*k up and put crap all over my face again, which is NOT gunna happen since my face looks 5X better w/o that B.S.)
Good luck to all while doing this, and remember at first you're probably gunna take a step backwards but stick it out! This will be a great test for your will, persistence, and determination, but as a wise man once said...."For anything worth having one must pay the price; and the price is always work, patience, & self-sacrifice."
shonnie you are a major blessing
thanks for your break down of the information
i have used water + vinegar on the rest of my face because i couldn't take my chances just now.
i have not put ANYTHING on my nose, though.
i guess it's just an experiment. this is day 4 for my nose.
i can't wait until i have my dead skin mask, to be honest. on my nose.
God willing i'll try it for my face in the summer when i don't have to see people every single day.
i'm a girl by the way so this is pretty hard for me D:
yepican when did it start getting better. because i think it gets worse during the first week or so. my skin got very dry so i had to put something on. let me know thanks
well it's really tough to pinpoint exactly. I did this for most of November, but went back to cleansers for awhile b4 getting back on it. During the dead skin phase my skin looked much better but once I peeled that skin off, underneath lay somewhat irritated skin in places where I had been hammering them for years. I've been washing with just water w/ washcloth for about four weeks now and only about 2-3 weeks ago can I say that my skin looks close to what it did before I used stuff. Hope this helps ya, if you wanna know more just ask my friend.
Hey, guys!! What's up? I'm back after a 10 day posting ban..
I see that many are taking interest in this too just like me a couple of months ago! Good luck on your endeavors! Post up here if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them for you and everybody else!

*EDIT* Both women and men handle two different, difficult things while following this regimen. For the women, make up...And the men, shaving.
The best advice for women is to NOT use make up during this regimen, as it clogs pores, and application may irritate or disrupt your skin's healing process.
The best advice I've seen for men is (on Dan's recommendation) use two bladed razors as they are the most gentle. Several male members following this regimen however, recommend the use of electric razors.
One member who still had problems of irritation, used cotton balls to apply his anti-irritant (shaving cream, water, anything you can use and experiment with that doesn't flare up your skin). He then used cotton balls to remove any excess product he had on his face. Combining this with YepICan's method of cleansing (this member has been following this regimen for quite some time though, use with caution) is wetting a face cloth with water (at night) and gently going over your face. Discarding the face cloth after one use to avoid any bacterial build up is a good choice as well.

Thanks guys
And I saw your pictures Wapak, and I and many others greatly appreciate your dedication with the posting of your pictures, they give myself and other members hope for this regimen!!
c'est la vigne did it! Well, it's because I kept putting links in my post so it's my fault after all.
Thanks for the kind words! I like your summary on this regimen! It's great to see other people understand the concept behind this. And I was also contemplating these past few days on a lot of things I realized while I was banned. A lot of correction and explanation about this regimen pop in my head one after another and I'll post them up soon.
hey wapak or to anyone else who has stayed on this regimen for a long time,
did the skin behind the dead skin mask heal yet? if so, how long did it take for it to fully heal? couple months?
If you read Wapak's personal log (or journal I dunno what it's called lol), it was a month and a few weeks before he removed the whole thing. He still however has it show up occasionally around his nose and mouth, so it may be several months before you're COMPLETELY through with the dead skin.
Its crazy to find this post. I have been thinking the exact same thing, why after 7 years of acne, do I still have acne, and has the prolonged use of products been a source of irritation. To begin, I love this idea, more so then anything, for the fact that you simply don't have to worry about missing a day or whatever on the regimen. I honestly believe this regimen deserves actual, hard scientific research, and this should honestly come to public attention.
I want to throw around some theories here, as I am really skeptical about the effectiveness for everyone. I likely spent 2 hours reading every single post last night and came to a few different conclusions. Two questions that arise (that I'm sure nobody can answer) are genetics, and the use of AHA (maybe someone can answer this).
My father had flawless skin up until he was in his 20's. I believe he was 24 when he first started getting severe acne, I am 22, I started getting pimples when I was 14. I began using the DKR when I was in first year university, so I was 19 and it worked amazing. Few pimples here and there, but even looking at pictures, I didn't seem to suffer from much redness. I still see relative success but get these weird, small, long lasting pimples that really just look like skin irritation. Is it prolonged use of chemicals, or is my genetics still affecting me?
What I recently did was try to ween myself off, I gave up bp and moisturizer and just used Dan's cleanser. I broke out slightly after a week, these small whiteheads, slightly red, then some got inflamed and I broke down and popped a few which seems to have made things worse. My skin hasn't been this bad since first year. I jumped back on the regimen, which seems to be clearing me up, I don't know, I also got a bad flu and quit smoking 4 days ago, not sure whats causing the breakout and whats curing it. (smoking was pretty casual, 1-3 a day for the last couple of months after quitting dope)
Anyway, while people seem to have success with going cold turkey, I wonder how many of the success stories involved AHA before they used this regimen? I am truly inspired by this regimen and waterwater, jweb426 (especially for the photos) dandantheman and all the guys in this forum are kind of my heroes. Its clear, waterwater likely isn't coming back, and to me, thats a good sign. However, I plan to take a different route. Instead of shocking the system, I will experiment with a weening process. I will slowly decrease the amount of BP I use and when the AHA arrives I will replace the night time BP and moisturizer with it. I'll stick with it, I plan to also eliminate BP and moisturizer in the morning. From there I will keep eliminating processes in the hopes that my skin adapts without having to go through the dead skin mask and I will be able to wash with water once a day, i think most people I know actually do that. My theory is this, BP has eliminated my skins ability to naturally turn over, causing dead skin cells to linger and ultimately clog pores. The exfoliation process will no doubt result in an initial breakout, but I am hoping I may have just had that by going off the BP for the first time in 3 or 4 years. Essentially I am jumping from a peroxide to an acid I know, but the documented benefits of AHA are compelling. This is all theoretical, but if I gradually destroyed my skin, maybe I can gradually re build it with this weening process, without the dead, dry skin.
I wrote this post mainly to thank everyone for trying the no wash regimen. I am doing this primarily for myself, but if this works just as well as the no wash, I'm hoping it could be something to consider for others, and the AHA could even potentially reverse some of the aging affects of the prolonged BP use. As soon as I get the AHA I will start a thread documenting the process, possibly with pictures. Guys your stories have been truly inspirational, I hope my regimen works, and if not, I know I have this to fall back on.
Glad to have you drop by here man! Let us here from your experiment soon. It's pretty promising and we will support you here on out. Good luck!
Will do man, thanks for the support.
I went through all your posts and your regimen as well man, keep it up. Looks like you are getting pretty close to where we all want to be. Just a thought though, have you maybe considered trying a little tea tree oil? Its natural so I think it would fit with your regimen, and you could just try it on a little spot? Also, since your going holistic, a zinc supplement might help, and I've heard of people drinking 2 teaspoons of pure apple cider vinegar with 8 oz of water 3 times a day for a more natural complexion? I've done both, not sure I saw any real improvement, but I assume this would be a long term thing. Maybe you knew all these things but I figure if you are going all natural, ingesting natural things isn't very scary since your not actually touching your face with them.
