Hey you. If you think you're getting too obsessive about your skin and that results in picking then I think you should spend a little less time on this forum and maybe make yourself busy with something else like baking or something. When you said you "shaved" a pimple off it kinda scared me :(

Think of ways to keep your mind off stuff so you're not as stressed out everyday. It works! I search for new recipes to try out to preoccupy my mind (and time) when I have a new pimple until it goes away lol. I get obsessive about cooking haha

I know you say your acne depresses you and a lot of your focus and energy goes into it but you can battle acne and have fun everyday. You'll be happier in the long run :D

Please consider doing this!

PS: Don't feel ugly and depressed because you're not (I've seen a pic of you) you're naturally pretty - not one of those people who need makeup to look good (acne or not).

Scrapbooking or stamp collecting can remedy this. Seriously, do something to take your mind off acne. I'm not saying go cold turkey, just limit the time you spend on here and keep your mind busy & active with other stuff.

Don't just shoot down this suggestion without trying it atleast =/ You don't "need" this site.

Anyway, still following your log! Good luck =]

Nobody wants you to leave the site at all! You're a lovely person. We're just suggesting that you take up a hobby or interest that can fill in the gaps in your day so that you're not thinking about your acne all the time! Its a healthy way to keep yourself busy & its something I do myself to not get too upset about my skin everyday.

All of us visit the org almost everyday too! But we don't obsess over our acne as much, even though its an acne-related website. You say you become obsessive about it all the time so I thought I'd throw in a suggestion because I care about your well-being & want you to be happy! We all post on here looking for advice and support.

I hope my intentions are clear to you now. Take care of yourself Molly! <3

I can foresee a breakout occurring overnight. My mom insisted we go to a Japanese suhi restaurant for mothers day. I ate eight pieces of sushi. I explained to her I didnt want to go there because sushi can trigger acne breakouts. She got mad at me and said, its my day and we are gonna go where I want to go.

I'm curious, I remember once you were saying you tried accutane. I'm not trying to pry but I was just curious if it just didnt work for you or if you had side effects.

I'm not trying to troll but if aczone or nothing else works for you I really recommened wexlers acne kit. It is sold at bath and body works. it has very high ratings and it works pretty well. Hope you find something :)

I am ultra pissed off, what a useless derm! He didnt give me aczone but instead gave me differin even though I told him epiduo made it feel like my face caught on fire! He also told me to buy a generic bp wash in 10 perecent and he gave me dyxicollin or whatever its called. I am not gonna use any of it. URGH!!! I am so tired of being put on the same crap all the time

sorry to hear that. Some derms are really great but others, like mine, dont give a crap about how i feel about different medications. To be honest with you the clearest i have ever been was doing my own regimens.

Aww I'm sorry molly! I saw your amazing results so far with aczone, I can't believe he took you off of it! In my opinion, I find that the aczone works so much better than the differin... Did you tell him you liked the aczone? That it was working?

On the other hand, I do think you should give the doxycycline a try. I've only been on it for a couple of days but I think that is what dried up the two nodules I had.

Give the doxy a try, but talk to your derm about the aczone.

Yeah Im not happy about it all! I felt so anxious about having to talk to a new derm after having the same one for eleven or twelve years that I forgot to ask if he could just give me more aczone. I will just try this regimen and see how it goes

Glad that you are going to give this regimen a try. Differin is a lot less likely to burn or irritate your skin than epiduo is. Is quite a bit milder and doesn't contain the BPO. If the BPO is only in a wash, that should be easier on your skin too, since it isn't staying on your skin for a long time. And the antibiotic should help reduce any inflammation.

Doesn't sound like a bad regimen actually! Good luck with it. Oh, and remember to only use a pea-size amount of the Differin for your whole face. One of the biggest mistakes people make with it is using too much.

Excellent points, willow. :) Also, your derm is being very responsible in recommending a BP wash while suggesting an oral antibiotic; that will help prevent bacterial resistance.
