The sun is not going to improve red marks from acne-it will make them darker. They might just appear less evident because your face is tanner. Also, benzoyl peroxide is an oxidant (aging) and slows the healing process of the skin, which could slow the process of the red marks healing.

Sorry, but I have tons of experiments and evidence to show the sun is very beneficial for acne and scars. The sun works as an exfoliation system if you know what you are doing - over time. Look at my back pics. It was once bombarded by acne. Now it is nearly clear 99.9%.

BP may be aging but I'd rather fix wrinkles than suffer a bunch of scars. I still get carded everywhere and some people think I am as young as 18 or less.

I am actually tired of people saying what the sun does to acne without knowing what the sun does to skin in the first place. :naughty:

Well I'd like to see this "evidence" that the sun helps red marks. I didn't say anything about the sun and actual acne, Im talking about the little red spots left afterwards(not scars). Mine reduced by about 50% when I started wearing sunscreen. As for exfoliation, of course that will help with them. But you can easily get that from a skincare product, and it would probably be quicker and more effective.

All great things take time. I am highly against fast exfoliation or skin abrasions. They are unnatural acts on the skin. Trust me on this, the sun is the best thing if you know what you are doing. ALL of my scars have gone away. It has taken years but yes ALL. Not 99%, not 99.99999%, ALL! I am not a hermit however. I go out and play.

:)

All I can say is there are much faster and effective ways to rid yourself of "scars"(red marks are not scars, its hyperpigmentaion) so if you want to spend years waiting for the sun to fade them then so be it. Personally, Im going to stick to my lactic acid peels and sunscreen, which have helped a great deal. Most dermatologists will suggest sunscreen for this type of problem. And yes necromancer, Im am not a hermit either, I got out and "play." I just wear sunscreen and don't lay out in the sun. In fact, one of my favorite things to do is hiking, but thanks for the offhanded insult.

LOL, it wasn't an insult. It was explaining about how I got rid of my scars. You need to read about what peels do. I still got all the layers to my skin. Peels remove layers and they don't come back. Skin keeps getting thinner. What you are doing will ruin your skin in the long run. Trust me. :)

I don't know if that it true or not, but this isn't something Im doing long term. Mine are almost completely gone as a result of it. I'm sure if you had strong chemicals peels done on a regular basis for long periods of time you could do damage, but that's not what Im doing. I know that retinoids thin the outer layer of skin, but they actually thicken the inner layer of skin over time.

I guess. If it works, then that should be good. I have seen some people really mess their faces up though.

I agree with a lot of things you said. Touching your face is a huge no-no (and a bad habit of mine and I am sure most acne suffers, but if stopping means clearer skin, just tell yourself no!) A little trick I learned way back in middle school to stop any bad habit, is to wear a rubber band on your wrist, and every time you go to pick or feel the desire to do so, snap the rubber band! This will tell your brain doing that certain thing is bad and eventually help you stop.

I also agree with drinking water, although you can drink too much. Just be careful and try to drink half your body weight in oz. Lemon water is awesome too, because it provides vitamin C (awesome for your skin.)

Exercising, yes, it's good to eliminate toxins but make sure to wash (either with a mild soap or just water) after a workout, unless that sweat and oil is going to just sit on your face and make your skin worse.

BP and SA irritate my skin, it took me a long time to learn that it was making my breakouts worse, instead of helping. This sucks since I suffer from blackheads and it's so highly recommended for treating them.

Anyway, I just want to say thanks for typing everything out- I think it's nice you're willing to spend your time and share what worked for you in hopes someone here will benefit from it also. I think members here are being extremely rude and lashing out at you simply because they don't like your picture or "online attitude" or whatever. Get over it and be thankful for the tips.

Oh and also, about the diet, I hadn't had orange juice in forever, my skin was looking great thanks to my new regimen and after I few mornings of OJ I broke out horribly. Weird, huh?

Oh well, like you said, trial and error, find out what your food allergies are, how foods/beverages effect you and your skin and make the commitment.

Thanks again & good luck!

Yeah OJ used to give me huge cysts all over my jaw and neck. I talked with other acne sufferers in college (I'm crazy like that) and they said the same thing. :)

Question: Does it matter exactly what type of food you eat, when you take the multivitamin? I was thinking about the difference of how long the multi stays in your system if you eat a lot of protein or fiber at a meal. I usually take mine at breakfast and it's quite rich in fiber, so maybe I should add some boiled eggs or something...?

I take multivitamin with meals (after). This is more logic than scientific. The chances that pill will make it to where it needs to go in the body is slim. But at least try to get it there with 100% effort. By taking it after a big meal, you have it mixed in with the other food in the stomach. The acid in the stomach is crazy. It would burn most things because of its acidity. Thank goodness it is inside you though. But this makes taking vitamins by themselves pointless. It will usually get pissed away or get dissolved in the stomach before it reaches where it needs to reach.

It doesn't matter when you take it. I have taken it in the morning, evening, right before bed. I used to take a lot of vitamins until I figured out I was pissing them all away.

GL!

Bump after I saw I've been getting PM'd about my regimen through emails. It is nostalgic because I used to come on this site hourly back in 2006. Now it is 2013 and this is the first time I've been here in years lol.

Anyways, the obvious questions and answers:

1. Is the regimen working? Yes. My skin is flawless although I do get some bumps from bodybuilding every now and then, the bumps go away with no scarring.

2. How am I doing? I am alive and beating cancer daily.

3. What are my lifts? 530lbs deadlift, 405lbs squat, and 225lbs bench (low because I don't care about it much right now as my chest is over-developed as it is)

Peace!

P.S. Don't let acne get you down. Improve your body, eat healthy, go out and have fun. Life is too short and cancer makes acne look like nothing lol.

Okay. I read all of this thread up until the reveal of the EXTREME regimen. I firstly want to say how amused it kept me for a good half hour!

Now, my opinion on the regimen. I agree with everything you say - I was expecting something a little more EXTREME, because what you say is basically how we should all live, not just acne sufferers. Healthily. Some of it we know already, but one thing I haven't tried is no spices/condiments, so I'll give that a go.

You mentioned digestion and my digestive system is screwed. I have cramps all day long after everything I eat and (not to give too much information) never have a comfortable bowel movement. Maybe that's linked to my acne?

I really appreciate (and hope everyone that mocked you did also) the time you have taken to write your post and it all really does make sense, even if we did already know a lot of that already, it's nice to that it actually works for people!

:)
