Been gluten and dairy free for 1 and a half month now and the seb derm around my nasal folds has improved. It is still there but it's less red and oily.
I used to get folliculitis in my beard area and pimples on my face as well which is pretty much gone. I didn't get alot of them on my face but it wasnt unusual for me to wake up and notice a couple of new ones.
Noticed a very small pimple on the side of my nose yesterday but except for that my face is clear.
However, my chest and scalp folliculitis are not really improving The first week of my diet I noticed an improvement but after that things pretty much went back to the way they were.
Every once in a while things get better for a few days in a row and then just like that things get worse.
On this diet my scalp isn't as itchy as it used to be but that doesn't stop them from coming.
This is really driving me crazy, I just want to get this condition under control.
I'm on a low carb diet and some days I don't consume any at all, I eat red meat, fish, chicken and vegetables. Some days I have fruits and berries.
@warrior027...is there any specific brand of zinc soap that works for you?.
And about cold showers I can tell you that they make the hair shine,I know this for a fact , but I don't know why.
It's hard to take cold showers ,I would probably end up with pneumonia.
Great to hear about what has been working for you .
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes.
Thanks, and i use DermaZinc 3.7 oz

Ok Purplestone... I'm a female 52 ,dealing with unbalanced hormones, and skin issues.
You mentioned about how you noticed that things seem to be balanced and under control one day , and all of a sudden the seborrheic, seems to get out of control. I think that you probably know that most of skin conditions start with the demodex mite getting out of control,I mean ,I know that the dermatologists have different names for everything, but all have one thing in common unbalanced skin.
Diet is important, I believe, like you, that gluten is mostly the cause of all gut problems, that and candida(intestinal parasites, that is what candida means to me).
I know that, in my case it's really hard to avoid gluten, because when my seborrheic dermatitis flares I can't go near a stove , the heat kills me.
I have also noticed that when I control my face , the seborrheic dermatitis moves somewhere else, in your case, you mention your scalp, see if you can use a sulfate free shampoo when you are not using the treatment shampoos.also I have managed the itchiness and bumps using 3 to 4 drops of jojoba oil mixed with 1drop of lavender oil(lavender should not be used for people with bladder , kidney ,or brain disorders),some people suggest tea tree oil or oregano oil , to tell you the truth I haven't tested these 2.Some people say that the tea tree oil sold at the stores comes very diluted and the oregano oil is too strong .
I know that when I use the jojoba oil mixed with the lavender oil I get less itchy and less bumpy, besides my hair grows.this is how I use it ,after I shower I apply to my scalp gently with my fingertips,I can feel the oils going in the scalp ,like it is opening the pores ,after that I use the drier ,the drier seems to activate the oils more ,besides leaving the hair wet at least in my case ,makes me more itchy and prone to bumps .
Even when my face doesnt agree with oils , it doesn't affect my face .
I use 4 drops because I have a lot of hair ,when I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism,I started losing my hair, that is when I first started using these oils.
The other day,I bought a moisturizing body lotion called Amlactin, for my husband to use on his legs for his keratosis pilaris , so I grabbed some and use it on a pimple that had come out on my scalp ,I used it twice, then I forgot about it , so I was trying to find it and all what was left was some white dandruff flakes. I don't know what made the pimple react like that , it had pus already ,I thought that it was going to bleed ,but didn't.
What I have used on the bumps on chest or back or sometimes scalp is hydrogen peroxide,or persa gel .that usually calms the itchiness and dries the bumps, the thing with using these products is that 2 things can happen, either the bumps shrink or decide to exfoliate and make a mess or sometimes bleed, they are pretty harsh .
So maybe using and aha lotion could be a better option.
I have heard and read many good things about Dan's AHA. Maybe when my skin is more calm I would give that a try.
I have tried glycolic acid and salicylic acid toners. The Amlactin moisturizing body lotion is a AHA from lactic acid, in my opinion this is good probably for people who have really oily skin .
Some people say that this lotion does not exfoliate, but I think it might. I say this because I used it on my hands , I have this condition where my hands get really dry but it doesn't matter how much moisturizer I put, my hands never absorb the moisturizer and I end up with flaking ,dry hands that end up cracking and sometimes bleeding, so I applied the Amlactin ,and guess what happened? ,my hands were sweating ,to me that means the lotion really penetrated the dry skin .
I get hives and itchy with citrus and berries ,strawberries being the worst offender. I think it's the due to their high salicylates content.
So my fruits, are bananas ,
apples, and watermelon ,my favorite during the summer(I know, high sugar content).
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us .
If we all share ,then we can learn how to deal with this condition.
Best wishes.
@ warrior027....Thank you .
Hey everybody.
Today I'm going to talk about my conclusion and what I think about Vicks vaporub.
As you know I have been using it at night, for the redness, itchiness and burning.
Well ,it did worked to control all of the above, it brought out pimples I didn't know I had ,it was hard dealing with the cystic ones ,the vicks also lightened so many brownn spots that I had from previous breakous,it kind of untangle knotted scars, again from previous breakouts, meaning ,pimples came out from those white scars.
I found myself trying to find out something to use during the day,it has been hard ,gave up using the benzoyl peroxide treatment for a week to try some eczema cream on the face and ended up with another cyst(already healing).
Well ,today I went back to my old routine ,since the Vicks vaporub keeps pulling them out ,I say pulling ,because I knew they were there Before the Vicks.
I know it's a cyst if the pore seems to have a film that no lotion or toner can penetrate ,kind of like a keratosis, that has been on my face forever.
I used the products I was using before this big mess , my Neutrogena clear pore cleanser/mask ,the rapid clear yellow 2 in 1 fight and fade toner from Neutrogena, and the benzoyl peroxide treatment from the acne.org. ....and my face handled the products ,my face has started to balance,it feels good even without moisturizer.
Conclusion : Vicks vaporub can't do it all ,I still need something to use during the day.I will keep using Vicks vaporub at night to remove the excess sebum.
I have also used the Vicks vaporub around my hairline to prevent dandruff, and I just remove it with the simple make-up remover wipes.
I can't say that now I have perfect skin, that is impossible.
I feel that now I can manage my face without the pain, the burning, redness, itchiness, flaking dry crusted skin.
Take care and best wishes to all.
You guys I just finished washing my face ,and I forgot to write down ,how the pores on my face look smaller and how my scars soften a little, overall my face has soften .
I think I didn't give Vicks Vaporub the credit it deserved,my face is getting smoother,I think it really is a demodex mite, mallassezia killer ,now that my face is not dealing with dryness anymore,I have forgotten how miserable those days were .
I just wanted to let you know.
I really tried to upload a picture, but the server doesn't let me .I promise that I will try to figure it out,it keeps saying the file is too big ,but it's only one picture.
I will keep it simple, and try not to abuse the salicylic acid, I'm still thinking that a glycolic acid would be a better option for me .
Glycolic acid is milder ,but I need one without alcohol.
Thank you for reading.
Ok ....NO ALCOHOL for me ,I mean topical,I was about to get a seborrheic flare up with the salicylic acid toner,or maybe the salicylic acid in it since I'm already exfoliating with the Vicks Vaporub.
Too much exfoliation maybe .
On my quest to my day routine.
So far the benzoyl peroxide acne treatment from the acne.org,but since I'm too old for benzoyl peroxide now ,I want to find something according to my age,and just leave the benzoyl only as a spot treatment for breakouts.
Oh ,I read that some people use hydrogen peroxide the way flekkn does to remove seborrheic keratosis, humm I think my dad gets those ,great !
I don't think benzoyl peroxide makes my face red ,I just think that if I could find something to use during the day,at least to not dry the skin so much, then it would be good.
The thing is that my face doesn't agree with moisturizer,or oils ,I was reading about grapeseed oil ,and it's even recommended by some to treat keratosis ,some say with topical vitamin c,I can't remember where but there was this guy saying the he was using vitamin c, ascorbic acid oral and topical ,for topical he would crush the tablets to be rubbed on his face, and he claimed that doing that cured his seborrheic dermatitis.
Others do the oil pulling first thing in the morning, where you swish the oil in your mouth to pull out toxins. Some people say that they use sesame and sunflower oils ,2 to 3 tablespoons, mixed I guess.
Others use olive oil ,some people also claim that olive oil can provoke a seborrheic dermatitis flare up,and that is funny because everytime I cook with olive oil my face gets bright red ,I have also noticed that I developed white things on my lips,I think that they are called forcyte(sp?) spots ,I tend to lick my lips when I eat,and sometimes I would also noticed that my skin next to the line of my lips would flaked off or breakout.
I don't know,anybody,?
I guess he was crushing the Apirin for the salycylic acid. What cured my SD about two years back was a mixture of salicylic acid 2% and sulfur 2% that I got from my doctor. It has to be mixed in a base of aqueous cream. Why I didn't try this in the previous 15 years I don't know.
At this point it is difficult to say I am totally cured as I cannot tell what is Rosacea, what is eczema and what is the remnants of seborrhoeic dermatitis. But the old cycle of skin swelling then flaking is gone. At worst now I have some soreness when sweating but that could be Rosacea too.
I recommend everyone at least try salacylic acid / sulfur mixture at 2%.
abreva cream......
So I was having a flare up ,a spot of dry skin that kept shedding, kind of blistering, but not oozing, too much shedding that I thought , this thing is going to leave a hole by the time it stops shedding.
So I was like, really? The whole face was doing ok, just that dry brown spot right at the laugh line , so I tried moisturizer ,grapeseed oil and nothing penetrated the dry skin , so since I have read on this thread that some had used abreva cream , so I said, there is nothing to loose , and guess what ? It worked,oh my gosh,it worked on the flare up ,dry annoying flakes.
Take care ,you guys.
Oh,the never ending, raw ,dry spot was caused by the alcohol in the salicylic acid toner,I know this because I was testing a new cleanser that supposedly removes make-up,so I kind of tested a spot ,cleaning it with the toner ,that has a lot of alcohol.I do well with salicylic acid products,as long as they don't contain alcohol .
@mikey77 .....
I'm glad you found something that works for you.
And yes,I also get really confused with the eczema, rosacea, acne or seborrheic dermatitis, because theres a lot in common, burning, redness, breakouts, so yeah ,so as long as we kindly exfoliate and treat then we probably won't have many problems and will be able to manage whatever.
The problem is, when we under exfoliate or over exfoliate.
Back in my youngest years, long time ago,I remember using sulfur to treat those spots that were mostly dry , flaky skin . I used to have very oily skin . Now it's mostly dry ,with some oily spots.
It's hormonal these days(menopause).
And yes ,what others in this thread talk about abreva cream ,it's true,at least for me,I had that dry ,kind of about to blister, annoying dry spot for awhile.
Take care,and thanks for sharing.
My update .
Morning remove the Vicks vaporub from my face using only dry cotton rounds .
Wash face with Neutrogena clear pore cleanser/mask
Grapeseed oil ,mixed with lavender oil or clove oil ( I use Now brand,I get it at GNC) to moisturize.
I bought some travel plastic containers at the dollar store ,they are 2.7 ounces.
So I put 15 drops of clove oil and fill the container with grapeseed oil,I guess I could also use 3 ounces size containers .
For the lavender oil formula ,I use 15 drops of lavender oil and the rest of grapeseed oil.
I first tested the mix using less oil ,like ,2,7,10 drops of clove or lavender oil to see that my face wouldn't have a bad reaction.
Keep the oils away from sunlight since the containers from the dollar store don't have UV protection, but just keep all oils away from sunlight.
And that's it , in ocassion ,I use the Neutrogena deep clean cream cleanser oil free to exfoliate in the shower, it's salicylic acid.
If I get a stubborn pimple ,just spot treat with the benzoyl peroxide treatment from the acne.org ,I haven't been using this a lot , since I haven't got new cysts.
To be truthful, sometimes I have to manually extract some whiteheads around my nose area ,but I do it after I shower , and I use two pieces of pretty moist paper towels, and only of I feel that the whiteheads are easy to extract and if my face is not red or sore .
This seborrheic dermatitis is horrible,I mean my eyebrows flake and around my eyes the crusty flakes form all the time.
I used abreva cream just to treat a spot ,right on my laugh line that was being resistant to everything, and it worked.
I have noticed that when I remove the Vicks Vaporub from my forehead, it looks yellow as I said , like when you blow mucus from your nose, so I know that is where I mostly have the seborrheic, also on top of my forehead,my hairline , it flakes or get the occasional pimple.
For my scalp I use a sulfate free shampoo from loreal , the pink one, just shampoo , and I use lavender oil with grapeseed oil ,I usually use a 3 ounces of grapeseed oil and 2 to 3 drops of lavender. I use a little of this mix and just rub lightly on my scalp , then blow dry my hair. This way my scalp doesn't itch or breakout.
So this is what has been working so far, oh and to moisturize my body,my feet. I use grapeseed oil in a mix of 3 ounces with 2 drops of clove oil.
People who have bladder or kidney, brain problems can't use lavender oil.
The mix of oils for my face I usually use 4 drops that I rub in my hands and then apply to the face, I use one or the other mix or both combined if I feel like it.
I guess the trick is to alternate the things that I use ,so the face and the germs don't get use to it and become resistant to the treatments.
So , this is what has been working for me lately,I just wanted to share.
Take care.
Ok ,you guys, the abreva ,works for seborrheic dermatitis, but gave me the same side effects that others have had, pimples.
So in the quest of healing pimples I ended up with a major flare up,also maybe from using so much stuff.
So back to the vicks vaporub for me ,day and night ,washing with cetaphil gentle cleansing bar soap.
I'm gonna have to be very gentle to my skin, no make-up and no harsh stuff.
Sad....Take care.
Biotin Cured my Seb Derm (accutane + antibiotics likely the cause)
After years and years of suffering from this horrific illness that has made my face, scalp, and skin all over my body a flaky, irritable, dry disaster I have found my miracle cure.
I have tried literally everything for years with no real relief outside of of hydrocortisone (which was far from perfect). The laundry list of products includes numerous dandruff shampoos, facial washes, vinegar, topical antifungals, coconut oils and moisturizes...almost everything that has been discussed here I have tried to no avail.
A few days ago I found a post about MSM + Biotin clearing eczema/seb derm (see: ) and decided to give it a shot.
What a difference only A DAY has made. I went and purchased 2500 mcg pills of Biotin and have been taking roughly 4 each day (for a total of 10 mg each day) and my seb derm has almost completely been eradicated. I am almost 100% clear of seb derm in a very short period of time. Within a week, if this trend continues, Seb Derm will be a distant memory.
I urge anyone suffering from suspected Seb Derm to give large doses (10 mg or so per day) a try. This has been my miracle cure and has ended years of horrific suffering that has greatly impacted my social life and self esteem. I hope this will be of help to some. Sorry for the formatting, I'm on a tablet:Thank you so much for posting your experience. It led me to ask my mother, and learn that I had cradle cap as a child. Now, with ever worsening SD, I may have found a solution to one of many ailments. I also have had stomach troubles for my whole life and found kefir to help, so hopefully my little grains will work their magic in yet another way (I'm lazy about making /drinking it. On that note, if anyone wants to try kefir, the hands down vest prebiotic to date, just send me shipping - I have plenty of grains to go around. Especially if it would do some good.
First thank you all for your posts and sharing experiences.I am constantly developping white pus zits around mouth and chin! I started developing this about a year ago.Symptoms---------------- constant small white pus zits around mouth and chin. dry up in about 2-3 days.- few more start when one stops!- red bumps- redness- All these symptoms only around nose , mouth and chin. rest of the face is clear!- constant Dandruff also.
This thing brought me down so much in my life! There are days when i just sit in my room and cry because I have pretty much tried everything under the sun. I am even worried to go meet my sisters kids sad.png Please help share your expertise and what worked for you guys. Please drop a note and i really need your help & support to keep me motivated to see the light at the end of tunnel.thanks!
I think you might have staph in your nose and/or ears. Try swabbing triple-antibacterial ointment in your nostrils and ears with a q-tip twice daily. There is a thread around here somewhere about this...
rocketboysf they look like pimples i have no idea. have you tried shaving and applying after save every day?? thats what helps me with dry chin .I keep my hair short and wash everyday with head and shoulders, and my dandruff is ok . ACV didnt really worked , gluten free helped.
residentpsych i have tried multivitamins including viotin and they helped a lot, 17 days i was clear of my SD , i will take viotin supplements after i test some other remedies.
noche stick to vicks theni think.
ok guys i think celiac disease may be connected with SD in some people and not in others. we all have to go gluten free for some months and at least test it for our selves. I was SD free for 1 whole month. Take care
I have been reading this thread again from the beggining and some people have success stories.
I am currently at page 5 and i have noted 2 soaps that are truly promising from people that have used them and healed-controlled their SD successfully.
1) Sulfur soap (10%) wash daily , some brands are "dr joesoel's" and "grampas thylorx "
2) Zinc pyrithione soap (2%) wash daily ,brands : "dr bailey's calminc zinc soap " , "dermadoctor born to be mild" and "noble formula "
i think the most promising is "dr bailey's" cause she has added some other calming ingredients ..
just google search dr cynthia bailey site.. i cannot post it here i think cause it's probably against the rules, but i checked and she's a real dermatologist working at hospitals and has a lot of experience.
i also found a site to read and post reviews about many products if you are not sure if you should try a product or not. It's called "makeupalley" google it
(i am not paid by these companies or anything i am just desperate to fully cure my SD which is bothering me.)
Hopedieslast....yeah ,I have read the dr bailey's site , so I went ahead with one of her advices ,to use lotrimin ,clotrimazole , I had used one of the lotrimin before but didn't notice a difference, so this time I paid attention to the ingredients, the one I got comes in a yellow, grey box , and the ingredients are benzyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, cetyl esters wax, octydodecanol, polysorbate 60,sorbitan monostearate, stearyl alcohol, water.
The reason I went and tried this was that I had an appointment with my dermatologist last month, so he gave me doxycycline , I really didn't want to take antibiotics, but I had a bad flare again, so he also gave me a cream to try, oxistat cream 1%,he gave me some samples to try on my face , the cream hardened the plugs that blocked the pores but dried my face too much, so I had to stop because it was helping to dry the pimples that were trying to form, but the dryness got worst, besides since this cream contains petrolatum, I think it caused me a cyst ,humm, great , so I just spot treated with some Vicks to bring the cyst down, but then I talked to my mom , and she recommended to try a mexican ointment called vitacilina, it's a neomycin sulfate ointment that contains this ingredients, lanolin, methylparaben, petrolatum, propylparaben, vitamin A palmitate .well , this ointment removed the dried skin , this is how I used it after washing my face with dove beauty bar soap at night and the face was truly dry , I generously applied this ointment using my fingertips doing a circular massage , and tiny little plugs plus dried skin started to come out , so I left this ointment overnight, then morning , I removed the ointment with the simple sensitive make-up removing towels, let the skin dry and apply the lotrimin , kind of generously too .
I have been doing this for about a week , the redness and dry skin are gone , I haven't got any new breakouts , I was getting 2-3 a week, it was getting out of control .
I introduced the doxycycline right after the cream the dermatologist gave me caused me a cystic pimple, that I just didn't want to drain , I just didn't want to spread more infection on my face, so I left it alone.
I have been able to apply makeup on top of the lotrimin .
I have been using Neutrogena oil free eye make-up remover that I'm able to use all over my face, since I read on this site, one of the forums, I think the one that talks about cosmetics , that if we use silicone based makeup , then we need a silicone based cleanser to remove this silicone makeup, and it seems to be working , it is a biphase make-up ,remover, meaning is based on water and oil , so I have to shake it before using it , I use some cotton rounds.
And so far , I have been able to go out and do some living , husband was doing shopping and bringing food.
I have been able to do shopping and some cooking.
My diet hasn't been that good, I admit it , because I have been having some dairy that for some reason my body started to crave , I think a healthy diet is important, regardless.
Take care.
I posted in this thread a couple of years ago. This disease is by far the worst thing to have happened to me, but it doesn't really bother me much anymore. I can say that I have successfully found a way to control it a 100 percent. The regimen I follow might seem a bit too much when you read it but it's become a part of my life. I've had to experiment, had some bad experiences but I'd say that they have all made me learn a lot about this condition.
Before I start, it is important to know that everyone's body is different and I feel that seb derm is caused by different things in different people so what works for one person won't necessarily work for someone else. Having said that, I'd really urge everyone who are struggling right now in their lives to try what works for me.
What to avoid?
Biggest problem for me is milk. For you it might be some other allergen; I could do any regimen in the world, but having too much milk-based foods or milk itself probably would cause an outbreak. Though, these days I don't even think about avoiding cheese, yogurt etc. too much. I have a few meals a week in moderation which contain quite a bit of dairy in them.
Vitamins/things that help
Now this is an interesting one. For a couple of years before the last one, I was having Biotin 5000 mcg, MSM 2000 and zinc 30 mg. I'm not sure of the MSM dosage but if you go back on this thread to 2010-2011, you'll see them mentioned. I think Biotin and MSM were absolute god-sends for me at the time. I was 90 percent clear and suddenly this thing wasn't the biggest problem of my day, every single day. I'd even have a couple of months of no breakouts. To make it clear, I had SD on my scalp and face. Before any kind of regiment my whole scalp would be covered in layers and layers of dead skin. I won't describe it too much but it was awful and probably worse than a lot of pictures I have seen on the internet. Face was the same. After the regiment, my face was always clear and I haven't had a spot on my face for four years. I'd get a couple of spots on my scalp from time to time depending on, perhaps, over doing the milk thing/not following the regimen when I got lazy.
Anyway, last year I figured that Biotin and MSM, in the amounts I was taking them, made my skin terrible oily/pimply and when I tried going off them, (continuing the avoiding milk part and the topical stuff which I will shortly mention) I had the worst break out in three years. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't like before because I was still avoiding the milk and doing my topical regimen, but I'd say at that moment I was only 70 percent clear, which for me was quite a breakout considering the last couple of years. In the time - a month or so - I was off these two vitamins, I didn't get any acne and my oiliness was much better, though not cured. Keep in mind that a lot of people won't break out from Biotin and MSM - It was just a problem for me and is for some people who, I think, are prone to breaking out. So, I started eating two cloves of raw garlic every night to see if that would help. Now I know a lot of people would cringe at the thought but from that moment on, I have pretty much been a hundred percent clear. As an added advantage, I don't get acne now as well. Biotin did give me a couple of howlers from time to time in that respect. All in all, I would say that garlic is by far the most potent force there is to fight SD internally.
Topical -
I'll make this short. For my face I use baking soda every other night and then ACV right after that. I think ACV right after is by far the most important part. I'll say that again. ACV. After. Washing. Most. Important. Part. Well, baking soda is not too far behind because they don't work without each other. I rinse off the ACV after 2-3 minutes so the smell is not a problem. Also, your regular face wash should be without soap and fragrance free. I use Physiogel cleanser. Preferably, after washing your face with your face wash, you dab on some ACV for a couple of minutes. It is worth mentioning that now I go three of four days without using baking soda. I could probably do more, but I remember not using it once for 3 weeks and getting the tiniest of SD spot on my inner cheek and one on the side of my nose. Keep in mind that I am someone whose face was really crusts and layers of SD more than a face.
Coming to the scalp, I wash my hair with an SLS-free shampoo every two days. You've got to try and shampoo as less as you can, while making sure that your hair doesn't get too oily as that will cause a breakout. SLS-free is imperative. I also put on coconut oil, leaving it overnight, and shampooing in the morning. I'd recommend not shampooing your hair till you are clear, without leaving coconut oil on for a couple of hours. After you are clear, you can find the right balance if it's too much of a nuisance for you. Once a week, instead of my SLS-free shampoo, I'll use a dandruff shampoo. I like to alternate it: so one week I'll use Nizoral and then SB. It's also very important to not use the dandruff shampoo consecutively or more than once a week. The less the better. Again, finding your balance is something you will learn. Like I said, though, try not to over do it as the SLS in dandruff shampoos cause a lot of aggravation. Now I'd like to mention the most important part. ACV rinse after you shampoo your hair, be it SLS-free or dandruff shampoo. Most. Important. Part. Rinse the ACV off after 5 minutes with regular water to get rid of the smell. Don't bother spraying it on pre-shampoo as a substitute for the post-shampoo rinse because you'd be wasting your time. However, if you want to be really aggressive at the start when you want to get clear, you can spray it on before applying coconut oil and leave both of them on overnight. This is optional and you don't really have to do it.So please remember that for both your scalp and face, it ends with ACV, every time, if you want complete control. It doesn't matter if you have washed your face with your regular face wash, baking soda, or washed your hair with shampoo. I also don't wash my hair with just water on the days I am not using shampoo: I'm not sure if this makes a difference because I've always only let water touch my scalp when I am going to use shampoo.
It probably sounds like a lot but it's nothing. Probably takes 15 minutes of your day. I have given you the ingredients and ways of using them and for me the combinations are important, but also the timing of it. For instance, if you used ACV randomly on your scalp or face it would hardly help on its own. You'll have to experiment to see how much you need something which suits your particular case. Maybe you'll need to wash your face with baking soda every night instead of alternate nights.
I've probably missed stuff out so please ask me any questions that you have.
PS - please don't forget using ACV right after you wash your face/scalp and leave it on for at least a couple of minutes. Hope this helps.
Somethang thank you for coming back to this thread and informing us what helped you to get cured from this condition . I would like to ask you how exactly do you use the baking soda??? Do you just apply it and leave it for sometime and then apply ACV ?? is ACV dilluted? is it organic ACV ?
I have been using raw organic ACV "with the mother" with great results for my sculp
I would also like to say to everyone that i found this site which was created by a guy that had S.D. on his face and sculp and got cured recently. He told me he has read all the pages of thris thread and tried around 80% of what worked for people here. At his site he is reviewing many possible cures for S.D.
once again i would like to say i am searching for remedies and i'm not advertising any site or product
after a round of accutane, all i had left was the redness from deem seb. Although it was much better after accutune the redness was still there and from time to time it would flair up. Around 2 months ago a gave SebClair Cream a go. It is the best thing ever, i currently have ZERO redness and the best thing its that it its a non steroidal cream. I suggest this to everyone out there.

hi byeacne123 i think some users used it at page 14 like italianboy but didnt mention success with it and i also read from other forums negative reviews so, i guess its good that it worked for someone and had success with it .
A short update for me : after being totally gluten free, second time for 20 days ( first time was 30 days with some success) i concluded that gluten doesnt affect so much my SD as i had a flare up after being short term gluten free.
I am using raw organic ACV with success for my sculp and now only use it once per week and i shampoo my hair with a natural shampoo without SLS. I Have 0% of flakes now for the first time
i have on my mind to schedule a coffee free and milk-dairy free diet to see the impact of these on my S.D.
take care people
