Pale Girl Problems

Hey so I'm having some trouble finding a foundation that's fair enough for me atm with it being winter. For reference I'm currently using Revlon Colorstay Whipped in the shade ivory but it's still one shade too dark for me... I'm fairly certain this is the lightest drug store foundation available as well but let me know if otherwise.

I'm also fairly certain that Estee Lauder foundations would be too dark for me right now... not sure about MAC as I haven't tried too many of their foundations and there are probably a few at Sephora I could try out that would be light enough for me but I'm on a bit of a budget ATM so I'd prefer something under $40 Canadian... the Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation looks pretty promising though...

Also for anyone interested here's a photo proving just how pale I am... this was taken during the summer time as well so sadly is me with a tan :/ lol

Although I have never tried it, MAC does sell a White foundation. This is what you mix in to your foundation to make it suitable for your skin tone.

I must sound obsessed with Artistry makeup on this forum but they do have a very light foundation available in the youth xtend line. Like, super light. It was too light for me. Alas, I'm just pink. ^_^

Hey, thanks for the recommendations :3. I've heard good things about the MAC Face and Body white foundation so I might give that a go next for mixing in with my foundation, just looked it up and it's surprisingly reasonably priced as well lol, I expected it to cost more. Siri is Artistry makeup an American brand? I've never heard of it before, I would try out one of their foundations but I'd just like to be able to test it out before purchasing if possible, I'm gonna try looking into that brand though.

Also I just noticed that there was already a forum somewhat recently posted on makeup recommendations for fair/pale skin lol. You guys know if there is any way to delete a thread or no?... Just don't want to clutter up the boards too much with the same topic posted a bunch of times.

Artistry is an Amway product, so yeah, it's all-American. It's the official makeup of the Miss America pageant, I guess. lol. My parents and brothers are independent business owners through Worldwide, so that's why I know about it. In general, I like their products. They feel like good quality. I just wish they were a little more "hip." Like, put out a gel liner and a cheek stain already!

I believe if you are not satisfied with their products you can call Amway.com customer service and they'll refund you.

Oh, and if you're wondering, Artistry is pharmaceutical-grade, like Clinique.

Hi SamB,

I feel your pale girl struggle! During the winter, I get crazy pale. I'll give you a rundown of the pale foundations I've tried...

-Colorstay for oily skin in ivory - SUPER pale! Definitely nice lasting power, but highlighted every dry spot and scar.

-Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Cool Sand - Fantastically pale, but not the best formula for my combo skin. I tested Porcelain and it was a great neutral fair. I love that this looks decently natural.

-Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation in Fair Beige - Very pale and it isn't even the lightest shade! This is my absolute favorite. Matte but not flat.

-Kat Von D Lock it in 42 & 44 (i believe) - Great colors, very pale, but there was something I didn't like about the flat formula. I still have two nearly full bottles in my bathroom.

-YSL Teint Touche Eclat in Beige Dore 10 and Beige Rose 20 - Toooooo yellow!

Hope this helps a little!

Hey, thanks for the recommendations :3. The Colorstay is still a tad too dark for me, I've tried the Bobbi Brown foundation stick before I think in the lightest shade (alabaster), it was a good match for me but looked too oily on me and transferred a lot. It sounds like the Tarte Amazonian Clay or the Kat Von D might work for me then.

Have you tried L'oreal True Match? That goes pretty darn pale.

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + in shade 15. Everything else I've found has been too dark for me: drugstore, MAC, Sephora brands, everything.

The lightest shade of Tarte's BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer is a pretty good match, but I wear it underneath the Mat Velvet +. I'm sorry that neither of these are inexpensive options... the struggle is real.

I am also extremely pale (think literally white, no colour at all) and I use Rimmel Match Prrfection 010 Light Porcelain. It's pretty cheap I think and doesn't seem to cause more acne for me. Also covers well.

I'll keep the Tru Match and Rimmel Match Perfection in mind then for drug store foundations to try :3 I've actually never heard of Match Perfection before... not sure if they sell it anywhere in my area but I'll be on the look out. And as far as the Mat Velvet + goes I actually tried it in that shade before oddly enough and remember it being pale enough for me but it had too much yellow undertones in it for me to wear :/.
