I am on my 7thmonth of accutane and I have been having red spotson my face almost daily and some times even a few a day.These are not like what my pimples used to be. Thesesettle in a fewdays but the redness and slight bumppersists after as well. My dermatologist said that it is because of increased sensitivity of skin after a longaccutane course. He said that my skin reacts to any environmental trigger now. According to him thisshould settle soon after stopping the medicine. I wanted to know how long will it take before clearing after stopping Accutane and should I shorten my course of accutane. I am on my 7th month of 60 mg / day.
It is normal to have raised red bumps on skin on last few weeks of Accutane as your Dr said. It will disappear with in a few weeks of stopping accutane. I had a similar experience and I was scared that acne will come back. But months after my skin is still clear. Good luck.
