Does anyone have solutions for hair loss caused by accutane?

I was on the medication for 4 months (and stopped taking it after 4 months)and lost 2/3 of my hair. I am embarrassed to wear my hair in a ponytail because of how tiny it is. It does not fall out as much as it did while I was on the medication, but I would still like suggestions for anything that will promote regrowth.

Hey Susie,

did you finish the Accutane treatment, or did you stop taking it early at 4 months? I'm sorry to hear about the hair loss but relieved that I, and a friend of mine, are not the only ones. I am on my second round of Accutane and the hair loss was my only hesitation to go on it again. This time I am being SUPER gentle with my hair. I condition it twice, shampoo rarely, and use more moisturizing creams on my wet hair after the shower. I don't use heat. I do simple and protective hairstyles often like braids. Wear a silk or satin wrap at night. It can depend on what kind of hair you have to, what is yours like? Mine is thick and curly. I'm mixed. After my first round of Accutane I'd say my hair texture was forever slightly changed but about a year afterwards, I wasn't shedding hair nearly as badly. Give it some time and gentle care. Don't dye or perm or in anyway chemically treat it obviously :)

I stopped it early, so I only took it four months instead of six. I have thin, fine hair. My hair was already on the thin side so it is frustrating to lose so much because I feel like I have no hair sometimes. But thank you for those tips! I'm trying everything lol.
