Hi everyone
Just come back from a consultation with my doctor who has agreed to put me on roaccutane.
However, he™s also prescribed me with prednisone to reduce some of my cystic acne and prevent roaccutane from causing a flare up. He™s recommended 10mg a day for 3 weeks and then 5mg a day for 3 weeks. Naturally, I™ve googled it and I™m now really resentful to start because of all the side effects such as weight gain and œmoon face, I honestly feel like I™d rather have acne.
I™m just wondering if anyone else has experience of taking prednisone at this dosage and side effects.

Hello! I am on day 12 of 20 mg a dayisotretinoin. I started taking 10 mg prednisone 3 days before the accutane. It helped reduce the swelling in my cystic acne overnight. The doc also thinks this is stopping me from having an "initial breakout".
I have noticed that I am a little more hungry than normal but I have not gained a single pound. I am mindful of when to stop eating and trying to remember to have healthy snacks vs junk food. I have not experienced any "moon face" at all. My doc gave me 30 days of 10 mg and I am going to finish it out. I am terrified that when I stop taking it I will get that initial breakout but we will cross that bridge when we get to it!
