I've been prescribed accutane by my dermatologist 2 weeks ago, Ive been on a full course when I was younger and it cleared me up and left a bit of scarring but nothing life changing I learned to live with it. But over the last few years I get the odd spot but my scarring seems to look worse and especially over the last year. To the point where I started to loose a lot of confidence...even my doctor said he'd notice little dimples on my cheeks he'd not noticed before? So I was referred to a dermatologist..he prescribed me 60mg a day to try help clear me up with the hope I could get my scarring sorted afterwards. Two weeks in and my original scarring seems to look a million times worse, even a friend today said how much worse it looks since last week. My original scars look more prominent and even looks like others have appeared, I'm really down about it today and going to stop taking it straight away.... can anybody give me any advice?

I have not begun my Accutane course due to a stomach bug, but I would recommend you ask your dermatologist why this might be happening and whether he/she would recommend continuing treatment or not. I know the medication can cause dehydration which can lead to skin worsening. Definitely keep your doctor in the loop though. Your pharmacist may also be able to give you some recommendations.
