I've been taking spiro for just about 3 months, currently taking 100 mg. My acne is clearing up but I don't know how well the spiro works. I still get some random smaller cysts, Not nearly as bad as what it used to be like.
Usually I always get cystic acne in Winter, I started the spiro in December
i also have PCOS so thanks tothat cause my acne

Here's I thing, I don't see many reviews of girls who taken spiro just alone, no birth control. I don't take birth control because it either has worsen my acne or my mental health. Mainly because it takes a toll on me mentally I refuse to take Bc.
How has spiro worked for people who haven't taken bc with it ?

Hey there, so ive been on spiro 100mg a day for about 3 years now, almost 4. If I stop taking it I breakout all over my jaw and cheeks so I know it is keeping that from happening and there are no side effects for me so I plan to keep taking it until my hormone levels are under control later in life...I started it in 7th grade and I am now in 10th grade. By June of last year i noticed that spiro was keeping me clear of like 50% of my acne, but could NOT control the other half by itself. I went on accutane for 5 months whilst also continuing spiro and skin Is quite perfect now, however if I miss a few doses of spiro I will break out kind of bad. Hope this helps !

hello. i've been taking spiro for over 4 years and havent been on birth control during that time. i found that birth control actually made my acne worse and my hormones go crazy so thank goodness for spiro! its the best and you should be totally clear by 6 months.
