For those who have been on both tretinoin (retin-a) 0.05% and 0.1%, which one worked better for you?

I'm currently using retin-a gel 0.05% after retin-a cream 0.025% and micro retin-a 0.04% did nothing for me. I'm desperately, and I mean DESPERATELY hoping this is going to work as it's nearly my last resort after having been through 4 spells of Accutane (had to stop because of awful side effects) and after having exhausted pretty much every other option. I was wondering: is 0.1% that much more effective than 0.05%? For those who've been on both, which worked better, and how big was the difference? Should I have started with the 0.1% first before trying the 0.05%?

I started on 0.05% of Retin-A and then after a few months I tried 0.1% Stevia-A. I found my skin was much mre sensitive on the 0.1% as it peels a lot more, epecially in the beginning. I didn't end up having success with either. I found Biacna (clindamycin + retinoid combo) worked MUCH better. I believe it had 0.05% retinoid in it. In the end, neither completely cleared my mild/ moderate acne. I'm now on accutane after trying countless topicals as none truly worked. I also used aczone which I found worked well alongside the Biacna to help with inflammation. Have you tried birth control (if you're a girl lol), Diane-35/ Cyestra-35 helped a lot (although it didn't completely clear up my acne), I was also on a higher dose of cyproterone acetate while on the pill as its the ingredient that lower testosterone production. Best of luck. If you have any questions about topicals let me know, I have tried over 15 in my acne journey.
