I had a bad reaction to tree oil in which my face became inflamed with red bumps that I never had before. I had very mild acne. My doctor prescribed 100mg of minocycline twice a day to get the inflammation down, which it did. I now want to stop the minocycline because I don't want to rely on antibiotics. I be only been on it for a little over a month so I'm hoping it has not affected my body yet. I am going to stop the pills and take a front probiotic and an apple cider vinegar drink to balance out my gut flora. i am wondering how long it will take to know I am "in the clear" and know that the mino be out of my system and will not break out randomly. Days? Months? And will my acne come back worse even if was not bad but just to eat an infection?

Although I do too prefer natural and holistic treatments rather than medications but often they aren't strong enough to overcome the problem. If your acne is mild, then you won't need to worry about relying on antibiotics as your skin should clear up before you become irresponsive/ immune to the medication. The antibiotic is to help kill bacteria in your body and reduce inflammation. I'd suggest to continue with the minocycline and also try the acv and probiotics which will help replenish any good bacteria that could have been killed.
