Hi doll! Take a look at my profile, posts and story. My IB with Spiro took about 5 months to finally calm down and have consistent clarity. Birth control can play a very large part, I'm not sure about Marvelon but Yas and Yasmin are the best to pair with Spiro effectiveness. If yuor BCP throws off your hormonal balance with Estrogen and Progesterone that can cause challenges. Feel free to reach out if I can help in anyway.

Hello! I noticed less greasy skin and hair within a week and no new clogged pores. After that my skin just got better and better. I had no Initial Breakout as others have ( Just lucky I guess-even tough I did have my worst ever cyst, by far, when I went from 50mg to 100mg ). All of my clogged pores went through the usual get infected, make my life miserable, then go away routine. But nothing out of the ordinary. I have been on it for about 6 months now, but the inflamed acne was much improved by month 3.Now, my skin and hair are no longer really oily. I am probably 95% clearer than I was. Onlysome clogged pores/pimples that are MUCH SMALLER. I am very happy with it.
Keep your chin up, as in all acne treatments, it takes time... Good luck!!!
Oh, and I was on Ortho Cyclen (another BCP)for a similar time frame and it did nothing by itself.

Thank you both @CarpeMomentum@sarareyMy dermatologist actually took me off of spiro as I started to get a lot of side affects . Including nausea , migraines , a lot of light headedness and a loss of appetite . I weighed out the cons and pros and I thought Id rather not stay on it. Also knowing if it eventually worked that Id have to be on it for life. I just didn't want to continue to feel the way I did on it and I no I couldn't have stayed on it for life with the side effects I was experiencing. Im really glad to hear that this worked out for the both of you:)!
