Hi,
I am 29 years old male, I have never been suffered from serious acne before. But recently I Got a painful, big bump under my cheek and few days later pus came out from it.I contacted a dermatologist, he told me it's a cystic acne and he prescribed me benzoyl peroxide cream and antibiotics.but none of them worked so I left it untreated for a long time and it started to get bigger and spread through large area.So i contacted my doctor again and he prescribed me roaccutane 20 mg for 3-4 months.I started taking it and got very dry lips and reddish skin though my acne got slightly better, so I visited my doctor again after 1 month and this time without explaining anything he stopped my roaccutane and prescribed me new avene triacne topical cream. So my question is why he changed the course?Does it mean accutane isn't working on me?

Was there anything wrong with your blood work? That's the only thing I can think of as to why he stopped the accutane. Can you contact him and ask why he stopped the treatment ?

As far as i know there is none, Only I had reddish and dry skin and terrible dandruff problem. But was it good enough to stop my course, would my cystic acne come back if I stop accutane at earlier stage?
